Appeared clean, good location for what we wanted to do.
Staff not friendly. We stayed there less than 12 hours and in the two times we went to the restaurant, we were taken to be seated at a 2-person table even though my 6-year old was clearly standing with us when we entered and we asked for 3. At the front desk they wanted to charge us 50 euro more because of my son even though I had requested a room for 3 and were already assigned to a room with a double and single bed. Room service was an hour late deliverying our food. Overall hotel fine, staff lacking. Staff do not come across as being "child friendly".

Galway Bay Hotel Conference & Leisure Centre, Taylors Hill - Reviews & Ratings"We chose this hotel because it was listed as a 4 star hotel. We decided to have a special week-end, so thought we would pamper ourselves. It was a disappointment. There are 3 star hotels in Galway that are twice as good as this one. There is nothing special about the hotel. It does not impart the good-feel factor we were looking for. It certainly is not of the standard of other 4 star hotels we have stayed at. However the maid was most pleasant & the girl at reception seemed frustrated by her inability to be able to improve our room." (99615255)
It was next door to the hotel our function was at.
We requested a non smoking room. The room was found to be very smoky, we returned to reception & we were offered a small room on the ground floor next to a room that housed loud generators (?). Not suitable. We woke up each morning feeling that we had slept in a smoke filled pub (no longer to be found in Ireland). This was rated as a 4 star hotel - however we found the whole standard to be that of a 2 star or worse, a b&b with a grumpy landlady. The amenities were lacking. 2 bath towels, a dirty tub, no face cloths, no morning paper, overcooked eggs, grimy salt & pepper on the morning table, tatty, dirty & soiled furniture in reception & I am afraid I can go on.

"It rained a lot but the hotel made up for it." (107775542)
Good food, especially availability of a carvery from the cafe which achieved the rare quality of keeping my mother happy. Lots of car parking space and good location. The in-house pub was also good and better than going into the town.
The only problem is the pound/Euro rate which is not the Hotel's fault. I was disappointed to see I overlooked a funfair when I arrived but since this closed down at 10.15 it wasn't actually a problem.
