Best Western Bank House Hotel, Golf & Country Club, Bransford - Reviews & Ratings"We were very disappointed and will be writing to the hotel management. The hotel is very shabby and the service was not at all good. Although the hotel is a non-smoking area, because smokers stand immediately outside the revolving doors, the smoke gets wafted back into the building which is very unpleasant. We were prepared for there to be groups of golfers staying which there were, and that was not a problem; the consequent poor dinner service and the level of noise were." (107328154)
Reception staff pleasant. Bathroom - heated towel rail that was actually hot, good towels, toiletries not bolted to the wall, large shelf, door hook.
Reception area smelled of smoke. Bar, corridors, bedroom shabby, in dire need of refurbishment. Bedroom carpet stained (with what looked like dried plaster), curtain linings mouldy, kettle lid did not shut properly, duvet cover very bobbly suggesting cheap fabric, washed too many times, had to ask for teabags as there was only coffee in the room. Long wait for dinner to be served as there was a large wedding reception going on downstairs (not our problem - they should have had extra staff to cater for that function). Worst of all - wedding disco was very loud from 9.30 pm to 1.00 am which kept us awake despite our bedroom being on the top floor.

A pleasant Hotel. Needs a little T.L.C. When I mentioned that the curtain hooks were broken the maintainance man was informed immediately but as this was on checkout I didn`t get to see if it had been taken care off! I would also like to have a toilet brush in the bathroom. Having said that I would use this hotel again as a stopover.

Best Western Bank House Hotel, Golf & Country Club, Bransford - Reviews & Ratings"Large spacious room with all essential facilities and acommodities such as kettle, widescreen tv with on digital and a sofa!! The bed was giant sized never mind king size and very comfortable with option of extra pillows in the wardrobe. I liked the fact there was more than enough teabags as most hotels only allocate one per person per nights stay and I know its a little thing but it all adds up! Compared to a travel lodge this hotel deserves 5* rating! and with a full english home cooked breakfast included in the price you dont need to find a little chef in the morning and pay through the roof. There is unlimited fresh juice, cereals, toast and pastries all included within the breakfast price. Great value for money! Quality service like your actually appreciated for your custom by the staff! Brilliant!!:-)" (97436143)
Giant size comfortable bed, wide screen tv with on digital, a sofa!, large spacious room, kettle with plenty of beverage options. Overall excellent accommodation

Kettle did not work, room generally OK but some of the decor required attention, curtain was coming off the hooks, bathroom requires an overhaul.

Best Western Bank House Hotel, Golf & Country Club, Bransford - Reviews & Ratings"Because this is a golf and country club hotel it obviously attracts groups of men who have come for a weekend of golf away from the wife and family. Needless to say, it did get a little rowdy while we were there although it did not bother us at all." (97129924)
Overall the hotel was of a good standard. The public areas were comfortable, bright and modern.
I was a little disappointed with the quality of the room. Although it was clean and comfortable, the decor needed some work (wallpaper was coming off the walls in places) and the carpet had some nasty stains on it.

Best Western Bank House Hotel, Golf & Country Club, Bransford - Reviews & Ratings"Over priced tariff for room provided (Standard double). Hotel needs general overhaul/good clean to claim its advertised standard honestly." (97679420)
Position of hotel. Really helpful Lovely staff.
Cleanliness of room. condition of room decor and furnishings. Old stains and marks. Servicing of electrical items (heated towel rail) stamped and signed for being more than a year out of date and therefore unserviceable. Areas of hotel cordoned off with furniture. General peeling paint of exterior doors an windows gave very poor first impression. Poor upkeep of gardens and carpark.

The location and status were excellant. I though the potential was enormous especially for golf breaks.
The decor was a bit outdated. The hotel could do with a make over.

Best Western Bank House Hotel, Golf & Country Club, Bransford - Reviews & Ratings"Staff very friendly but hotel old fashioned and rundown in parts" (97640971)
Poor decor, furniture - not worth the money at all. Only stayed as everywhere else was booked. Shame as it is in an ideal location for me

No lift to breakfast room

Pleasant accommodation, lovely dinner and a cracking golf course next door.
If only the girl on the front desk was a little more accommodating!

Best Western Bank House Hotel, Golf & Country Club, Bransford - Reviews & Ratings"It would have been better if the menu had been a la carte and not restrictred to a set menu as the food there was not to our taste. But on the whole, we really enjoyed our stay. We found good food locally." (99889857)
It was clean and tidy, the staff were helpful.

Best Western Bank House Hotel, Golf & Country Club, Bransford - Reviews & Ratings"It would have been better if we were actually made to feel welcome when checking into the hotel. Given that there was such a limited menu available in the restaurant I would have expected the food to have been excellent - at best it was mediocre. It was not piping hot, some items were unavailable and the staff who served us could give no information about the food e.g. flavour of cheesecake, what the vegetables were. The staff were generally very pleasant, but only the manager made any attempt to engage in conversation." (99327905)
The hotel was clean and comfortable
I would have liked a shower cap in the bathroom and the room to be a little brighter

Best Western Bank House Hotel, Golf & Country Club, Bransford - Reviews & Ratings"I had problems finding the hotel, due to my Sat Nav (my fault!) but on contacting the hotel I was given excellent directions by reception. I had en evening meal and the waitering staff were excellent and the food was very good. On the whole the staff were very friendly and polite." (99617761)
My stay in the suite gave me ample room to complete work on my lap top in a very spacious and comfortable setting
The room was not as clean as I would have like. It was obvious the bed had not been moved to clean underneath and there were remnants from wedding decorations on the floor

Best Western Bank House Hotel, Golf & Country Club, Bransford - Reviews & Ratings"Was this a family run hotel or a chain. Had it recently been acquired? One bed was damaged. However the hotel reduced the room rate with no fuss. The room condition might have benefited from being checked before the keys were handed over to prevent us raising the matter." (99148820)
Proximity top the city. Locatoon set in lovely grounds( that needed some attention)
somewhat barren atmosphere. employees were functionally polite but with little ownershipminset The hotel had a barren atmosphere. Staff were functionally polite with little 'ownership mindset. Bar area had a very temporary unloved feel

De boeking was bij het hotel niet bekend. Gelukkig hebben wij nog ter plekke een kamer kunnen boeken.

"There were 2 coach tours and we had to wait a long time for our bar meal. Sujith apologised and re-imbursed us for our trouble. Thanks to the wonderful staff at this hotel, we had an enjoyable stay." (108131668)
Sujith the Duty Manager said if we book directly with him next time he will get us the best rates, as my company Qinetiq is a regular user of this hotel. He brought my wife a tray with coffee whilst she waited 10 minutes for the room to be ready, which was a lovely gesture.
Our original hotel, the Malvern Hills, was cancelled at the last moment. We had to find somewhere urgently and booked this on the internet with Priceline, unfortunately we paid an exorbitant price.
