Very warm welcome, which extended over the three day stay. Interesting discussions and information on the region. The evening meal was of good quality, well-served and the proprietor clearly has a good knowledge of wine, this made the occasion more interesting. Low-key, efficient and friendly.

Good directions, delightful, elevated position with views of the Pyrenees and overlooking a lake. Hosts very welcoming and helpful. Pleasant room. Very good evening meal.

However, the atmosphere and the food was such that I never felt that it lost any of that "Gallic charm". The couple were both very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. For people like ourselves who like walking the area had plenty of attractions and the nearby town of Mirepoix was a gem. The auberge is actually on the long-distance path that links Rome with Santiago De Compostela in Spain. Rooms and bed were comfortable and of a good size. Everything worked and it was clean." The Hotel and the Staff were Excellent - we had only let them know at the last minute that my wife was in a wheelchair and they could not have done more to ensure all facilities were there for her. The food was absolutely excellent and reasonbly priced, plus the service could not have been better. Excellent is the only word for the Auberge du Balestie. We will definitely be returning there for a visit.

Although the menu in the restaurant is a little limited, the food served is of a very good quality. The hotel is well placed to provide an excellent base for touring. A car is an essential when staying there but with the use of one you are in an ideal place to visit Carcassonne, the coast ( 60 mins on autoroute) and 5 mins from delightful town of Mirepoix." Views and setting of auberge. Simple clean value for money accommodation. Excellent food from friendly people.
rather quiet in the auberge but this was because of time we went.
