Laburnum House Lodge Hotel, Highbridge - Reviews & Ratings"I paid travel lodge prices for a less than one star experience - how on earth has this place got two stars? Sorry this was not a good experience." (108271717)
From the outside appeared a very nice location - not really lodges though
Very dated decor, hair dryer did not work, cob-webs on the walls, cracked tiles in the shower - breakfast was disgusting, generally had real potential to be a lovely place, but let down with poor upkeep and no attention to detail - quite disapointed.

Laburnum House Lodge Hotel, Highbridge - Reviews & Ratings"Fun stay, reminded us a bit of 'Faulty Towers', in a good way. " (108186246)
Staff really friendly. Maid service good. Breakfast tasty. Clean.
Attention needed to details i.e. Swimming pool tiles and jacuzzi. Individual tea / coffee for breakfast tables needed instead of a communal pot.

Laburnum House Lodge Hotel, Highbridge - Reviews & Ratings"Excellent hotel , would use it again." (107282237)
Excellent value for money, the hotel is clean and the bedrooms are quite large. The towels are large and thick which is lovely to find. It is situated an a lovely quiet spot but is very convenient to Bridgwater.
The bathroom is let down by the finishing of the tiling and the cracked jointing around the bath. The breakfast is very good but let down by the cardboard tasting sausages, would have thought you could buy a good local sausage rather than supermarket low value.

Laburnum House Lodge Hotel, Highbridge - Reviews & Ratings"Adequate for short term accomodation." (107205416)
The room was spacious and clean. The swimming pool was good and was opened on demand.
Many facilities were not open, eg. sun lounge. There was no evidence of a gymnasium, although this was advertised. The receptionist was unavailable most of the time. Although evening dinner was advertised staff did not appear to be available at the designated times.

Laburnum House Lodge Hotel, Highbridge - Reviews & Ratings"Did not spend much time at the hotel during the weekend but the general impression was very positive. It is not a smart hotel but very practical for a young family with plenty of activites available." (107108674)
Room was excellently sized for a couple with a small baby and would be perfect for a longer stay with the self catering facilities.
Slightly old and grubby interior but falls in line with the cost

Laburnum House Lodge Hotel, Highbridge - Reviews & Ratings"would not reccommend, internet site and brochure very misleading we are aged 26-32 and had realistic expectations we did not expect 4 star accomodation, but this was poor." (97239035)
"some" staff were very very helpful, others seemed put out by the fact we wantd to check out and settle our bill when it was time for us to leave.
no ironing board had to ask at least three times, faulty main light in bedroom, sauna & Jacuzzi didn't work, dirty crockery at breakfast, no staff at 7.30 - 8.00 am on sunday when we wanted to check out had to wait which delayed our journey, other residents just left there keys and made a quick escape.

Laburnum House Lodge Hotel, Highbridge - Reviews & Ratings"Fine but have experienced better places for the money. More attention to detail is required re the room, especially daily serv ice. Our room need general maintenance and the ehating should be on in winter months, can bbe contriolled with radiator thermastats." (97095946)
East Access, Room big, easy parking, good breakfast, friendly staff.
Central heating not working, noisey fan on wall heater, no heating in bathroom, Front door jamming, room not serviced during our stay had to makeuo our own bed late at night when arriving back from a day out. Face towels therefore not changed and still damp from previuos use as no heating.

Laburnum House Lodge Hotel, Highbridge - Reviews & Ratings"The accomodation was excellent except for the poor sound insulation , which resulted in our not being able to get any sleep before 4 a.m. due to noise from the adjoining room. Due to this fact, I am afraid I would not be able to recommend the hotel to anyone." (99094386)
Comfortable bed, excellent shower room, tea and coffe-making facilities appreciated.
Poor sound insulation between rooms.

Laburnum House Lodge Hotel, Highbridge - Reviews & Ratings"Really Nice place to stay if travelling and viewing Somerset and North Devon. We will definately be staying at the Laburnham again. The food was good and there was plenty of it, although when they had the carvery on sunday evening, I think they should have had maybe one or two other dishes, and maybe catered a bit more for vegetarians." (99985431)
Freindly staff made the whole stay really nice, I would definately stay again. almost a home away from home.
Because of the cold weather the heating could have been on a bit more. For 4 people having a bath the water had to reheat.

Laburnum House Lodge Hotel, Highbridge - Reviews & Ratings"We have now stayed at the hotel three times over the past two years both as a family and as a couple and will return any time we are in the area. The only down side is we never have enough time to fully enjoy the facilities and the local countryside. Also an ideal location for any type of Party/event. 10/10 in every department." (99061037)

Laburnum House Lodge Hotel, Highbridge - Reviews & Ratings"After I had booked this hotel they sent a glossy brochure showing all the wonderful facilities and restaurant. When we got there the restaurant was closed that night-because it was Mothers Day the following day so we had to go elsewhere to eat. Although when I booked your site said I would pay on leaving, the hotel took half of the cost from my card when I booked. Senior staff not very friendly." (99228195)
The room was warm and comfortable.
Not the best choice at breakfast.Dinner not available.

Food was excellent, as was the service in the restaurant
General state of room was poor, swimming pool was more like a paddling pool, and many minor problems occurred due to a general lack of staff oversight
