Malmaison Glasgow, Glasgow - Reviews & Ratings"Ideal for our short break - but we would have enjoyed staying longer. Very minor points - found the restaurant a little bit dark and gloomy (but food was excellent) and the huge wine list was a bit daunting - but we are just happy gluggers! Although the thermostatic control above the bath is excellent, it might be helpful to advise how you can over-ride it to run a bath. My wife ran a tepid bath at the pre-set shower temperature before she realised." (97282929)
Excellent bed and room facilities, nice bath
Hardly disliked anything - maybe a little bit short of drawer space in the room

i loved the building itself. food was excellent. decor is fantastic.
the room was very small,it was also very hot. we were disturbed at 4 o'clock in the morning by rowdy guests and a television blaring .when i reported this to staff the next morning i felt that they were not that concerned.also my breakfast order was wrong and took 45mins to arrive at my door.

The decor and feel of the hotel was great, as were the takeaway toiletries.
Our room was really small, had no storage and overall we found the experience very poor value for money - we don't mind paying extra for a little luxury but this did not live up to my expectations at all. Service was poor in the brasserie on both days for breakfast.

Malmaison Glasgow, Glasgow - Reviews & Ratings"The hotel and rooms were creatively designed and thoughtfully laid out. We felt 'treated' by our stay. We came to rest and be relax and we had a great night's sleep, we liked the little touch with the toiletries and the bath and shower were superb!" (3304992840)
The bath & shower! The bed was so comfy.
Windows didn't open and the room was quite warm.

Malmaison Glasgow, Glasgow - Reviews & Ratings"Luxury for those who still think themselves young and funky but except the level of service normally associated with the old establishment hotels. The restaurant is definitely worthwhile; the champagne (cocktail) bar a must. I just wished I had had more time." (3304742839)
Funky room, attentive staff, excellent restaurant....oh, and good cocktails
Our room keycards randomly didn't work - having to go back to receiption not good when laden with shopping

Malmaison Glasgow, Glasgow - Reviews & Ratings"I thought the room rate represented excellent value for money and the booking process was very easy. The desk staff could not have been more helpful. For example, when left stranded by Air Berlin at the airport on Sunday night, it was a matter of moments before I was booked in for a second night at the Malmaison, and soon after that was eating a delicious hamburger in the restaurant." (3304355995)
The room was very comfortable, the staff were friendly and very efficient
Temperature control in the bedrooms, cheaper continental breakfast

Malmaison Glasgow, Glasgow - Reviews & Ratings"My husbnd and I had a great weekend and a big part of that was our stay at Mal Maison. It really added a bit of class to a night at a concert for us. It's really very near to home but we could have been hundreds of miles away." (2747353)
The peace and quiet of the room but busy bar area. Very friendly and helpful staff took good care of us. Position within the city is super
I thought the room a bit too heated overnight - that's a personal thing though

Malmaison Glasgow, Glasgow - Reviews & Ratings"It would be even better if a service was provided to take the car away and park it for you (like in some other hotels). When arriving late the last thing you want to do is go and park the car at a fairly distant car park. The car park is located about a quarter mile away in a fairly hilly area. Internet booking facility is really good." (2932928)
professionalism
Impossible to have a shower without flooding the bathroom

Contemporary decor with french flavour. Large comfortable bed, very good bathroom facilities. The On-line facility in the bedrooms. Superb breakfast. Courteous and efficient staff.
The bedroom doors could close more quietly.

Malmaison Glasgow, Glasgow - Reviews & Ratings"We really like the hotel, and this was a return trip as our first was very enjoyable. For us, the cost is an important issue we have to consider - it is nice to have an above average hotel to stay in, but would be enhanced if the cost had included breakfast." (1768653)
Decor excellent, good service, good ambience throughout the hotel.
At this time of year (following Xmas/New Year) cost is a factor - whilst the rooms are excellent and service good, it is still a premium rate to pay, particularly as breakfast is not included.

Malmaison Glasgow, Glasgow - Reviews & Ratings"Could have done with knowing the event we had turned up for was cancelled before hand! That is nobody's fault of course! I have stayed at this hotel before and I am very fond of it. It is a lovely place to relax in in the evening with friends and drinks. The rooms are very pleasant and designed beautifully. The only thing I would say is that the food is a little limited and vegetarian options on the bar menu are particularly scant. Also we ordered two different dishes at different times of day but they were served with the same sauce and vegetable. Perhaps don't eat there twice in the same day!" (1705333)
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel overall has a lovely atmosphere.
Need more taxi firms, waited 1/2 hour for one and gave up. Minimal vegetarian menu.

Malmaison Glasgow, Glasgow - Reviews & Ratings"Malmaison has a style which is designed to encourage relaxation; partly this worked for me (see above re colours and bed); but the Glasgow hotel needs some refurbishment, as it already shows signs of wear and tear. Room small, which was disappointing. Breakfast (continental; I didn't want full breakfast) was fair; pastries rather industrial tasting. Good choice of fruit, cereals etc. Coffee not special." (1574566)
Soothing colours of decor; excellent, firm, sleep-inducing bed
Paintwork and furniture chipped in places; table lamp did not work; room smaller than expected

Comfortable room with excellent shower facilities and excellent night service.
Decor had a feeling of neglect at a closer look and room service order did not come as requested.

the quality of the rooms for details
the way that our room opened up into the wine abr downstairs and the noise kept us up when e had an early start. this was compounded as when the noise from that stopped the noise of the night wiatewrs laughing and joking was also audiable.
