Pleasant french provicial feel. Grounds and chateau offer fine surroundings, views and peace. The price of the accomodation was reasonable in my view.
Residence rooms clean and comfortable but externally out of keeping with chateau and interior in need of modernisation. Air conditioning would be a must for a comfortable stay in the summer and, for that reason, I would only consider staying in the cooler months.

Le Prieure, Chènehutte-Trèves-Cunault - Reviews & Ratings"The Priory's advertisements were modest and the seeting and condition of the hotel a most welcome surprise. Beautifully situated over the Loire, the accommodation was excellent in the wooded grounds of the Hotel. The staff were very accommodating and put one at one's ease. The quality of the dining room was very good and the choice of recommended wine,a Saumur Chenin blanc, was of the highest standard. The petit dejeuner was also excellent. A thoroughly recommended stay." (97299348)

Le Prieure, Chènehutte-Trèves-Cunault - Reviews & Ratings"We looked for a top class hotel and in Le Prieure at Chenehutte les Tuffaux we found it. The hotel is featured in Johannsen's Small hotels of the world and lives up to expectations. We had been travelling through Spain and France and this was the best we stayed in." (99179725)
Excellent location and views. First class service and food

Delightful surroundings - lovely grounds and chateau.
Nothing really. It might have been nice to have tea/coffee making facilities.

Le Prieure, Chènehutte-Trèves-Cunault - Reviews & Ratings"The hotel is in a wonderful chateau. We enjoyed the use of two rooms that were part of the main building, but had entrances from the outside. The rooms had a very pleasent, clean smell that was very inviting and the views of the river were wonderful. The only disappointment was the new structures that have been built to accomodate more guests. While they are not immediately visible, it would have been nicer if they had built something more in keeping with the feel of the old hotel." (3304591446)
We had two rooms and both were comfortable and very pretty. The rooms had lovely antiques that were not too ornate. The walls were covered in very pretty fabric and the bathrooms were modern and attractive We also enjoyed a wonderful breakfast in the patio overlooking the river.
It was hot and air conditioning would have been a plus.

Le Prieure, Chènehutte-Trèves-Cunault - Reviews & Ratings"Meals, though excellent, are extremely expensive with choice on fixed evening menus often limited to one or two items.Wine also v.expensive with no more modest options." (2558495)
Quiet with superb views & spacious accommodation. V.good food Friendly & unofficious staff.
Choice of menu Difficult for disabled - many small steps and changes of level. Steep hill access so transport needed if eating out.

the position of the hotel gave a panoramic view from the terrace. The room although not part of the main building was good and had patio area which was usefulto use for having snacks. Very quiet surroundings.
More choice of menu. We did not eat in the restaurant but would have liked the opportunity to have lighter meals available

"An excellent, quiet hotel for discerning guests." (108337231)
Rooms and suites in old part of hotel are large and traditionally furnished. Superb food in restaurant with attentive service. Excellent wine list.
Restaurant has only one (very good) menu so choices may become repetative after a few days.
