Conveniently located (road access), gentle staff, nice breakfast, elevator.
Unfortunately the wi-fi was not in service that day, but the reception was very helfpul to let us use their computer.

Hotel Akena La Louviere, Houdeng - Goegnies - Reviews & Ratings"First impressions really last. Unfortunately for this hotel, the lady receptionist was very rude and not helpful at all. I asked her for a phone directory and she looks at me in disgust. She would rather be in the back room doing something else than being in the front desk. I tried calling from the room and even when I called for the front desk there still was no help. I had to go down from the third floor and that's when she told me I have to deposit 5euros. When it was time for us to leave at 4 am the following day, whoever was manning the front desk told us that we can not check out until 6 am. I told him that we have made arrangements with the front desk the night before. I did not even got the phone deposit back. This hotel was staffed with very unprofessional and people not trained in customer service." (3304894640)
There was no A/C and it was hard to find. No adequate signs.

I had to search late at night as the hotel was not on the street indicated on Michelins map. My Garmin navigation system did not have you in hotel locations. We were over the entrance & found cigarette smoke from people sitting on the benches outside drifted up into our room." (2701134)

Near the motorway, yet reasonably quiet
Not mentioning, or at least suggesting, that you are in the vicinity of Chimay. We were competing in car-races in Chimay and wanted to book a hotel in the neighbourhood. We had to drive more than 70 km from the circuit to the hotel.

Hotel Akena La Louviere, Houdeng - Goegnies - Reviews & Ratings"The hotel was clean but, when I stayed, a little disordered because of renovations. Hence my rating for this was fair instead of good. My stay was too inconvenient without a car, though the hotel itself was fine. I would be glad to stay here again, if travelling by car; otherwise not. I knew the distance from town but was not prepared for the unsuitability of the hotel's immediate surroundings for walking. Once the motorway and canal bridges have been negotiated, though, it is possible to walk (for about an hour and a half) into La Louviere along the canal towpath. This is more pleasant, for the most part, and quite interesting." (2141773)
Good value for money. Very well placed for motorway travellers. The nearby Auberge is superb!
Noise from motorway. Very badly placed for anyone (like me) travelling by train.

It would have bee nice to have had tea/coffee facilities in the room. Other than that the experience was pleasant enough for the one night that I stayed" (1746675)
The reception was good with my arrival expected.
The location did not cover travel from Brussels Airport - this is important as I was routed on the internet to this hotel because the hotles in Brussels were full
