Diamond House Hotel - Guest House, Rugby - Reviews & Ratings"We would certainly use this hotel again for our annual visit to this area of UK," (97418717)
Friendy welcome, lovely food and a well presented breakfast with excellent content
Only a slight niggle we felt the bedroom tea and coffee making facilities took away a personal touch, which we prefer, as would the supply of fresh milk, and less prepackaged items.

the proprietors were very friendly.
The accommodation is in need of a refresh and modernisation - which the owners seem to be in the process of doing

Diamond House Hotel - Guest House, Rugby - Reviews & Ratings"It would have been good to know if there were lifts available, a choice of brakfast, and if we could take guests back. You could not sit in the lounge during the day as this was often locked, the brakfast was adequet but not enough, and the hotel was cold, I feel they need to upt their heating considerably. The staff were in general friendly. I have stayed in better hotels but then again I have stayed in worse." (99700398)
Its nearness to the town centre
Hotel was not very warm, breakfast was adequet but consisted on 1 sausage, 1 egg, 2 rashers of bacon small amount of beans (Not enough for growing children or adults) no lift in hotel carrying large cases up two flights of steep stairs was very tiring.

Diamond House Hotel - Guest House, Rugby - Reviews & Ratings"There was some mix up with the booking. The company through whom I booked it changed hands and I was told that the information wasn't brought over properly on the computer system. However, the owner/manager of the hotel was extremely helpful at sorting it out and was most apologetic. I think I would phone the hotel directly in future to make sure that everything was ok with my booking, because we could have got someone that was most unhelpful." (99391978)
The owner was extremely friendly and hospitable. Our room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. It was withing walking distance to everything,i.e. shops, pubs, restaurants and our friends. The heating was on and lovely & cosy, which is a mega bonus in December.
Other guests lack of consideration for their fellow travellers. Why one woman had to have her baby screaming in the hall outside our door and not in her own room at 8.30 am for over 10 minutes is beyond my comprehension. Another person, having their TV blasting at mega decibels, was also entirely inconsiderate. This however was not the fault of the Hotel itself directly.Would probably benefit from a sign asking people to be considerate to their fellow guests. Also, breakfasts are normally served up to 9.30 or 10 am. The breakfasts in this hotel were finished at 8.30 which meant we are not going to get up the same time as if we were working. Hence we missed the breakfast we had paid for in the price and had to go down the town to get breakfast.

Diamond House Hotel - Guest House, Rugby - Reviews & Ratings"The hotel was clean and tidy, and included breakfast in the price. The room maybe needed a coat of paint, but apart from that it was very comfortable. The rooms had tea/coffee making facilities and the hotel has a very large (safe) car park at the rear. The hotel offered smoking and non-smoking rooms to guests. It is very near to Rugby town centre, the local shops & amenities." (99929277)
Very near to the town centre and the venue for the meeting I was attending.

Diamond House Hotel - Guest House, Rugby - Reviews & Ratings"When we booked it stated we had booked two rooms adjoining each other, one for us and one for our two young daughters but were given a large single room with four beds on arrival, when the kids got tired we all had to go to bed, not much fun at 7pm! At breakfast there was no high chair for our one year old daughter even though we were in a family room, the portions at breakfast were small and the orange juice old and settled in the glass, we were staying for three nights but there was still no high chair on following mornings. The people running the hotel were very friendly and helpful but we feel the price didn't reflect the quality of stay." (3305128209)

For a British hotel (we live in France), the shower worked properly there was plenty of water coming from it and it was not clogged with limescale, it's often just a trickle in British hotels. You could actually see the pictures on the TV not have to peer through snow. Mine hosts were very friendly, we arrived late having got caught up in transport problems in London and loosing their address.
Nothing.

Diamond House Hotel - Guest House, Rugby - Reviews & Ratings"The internal fittings of the hotel are generally fairly shabby with a slightly agressive management style from the owners, but this is overcome by the high levels of room cleanlines and service in the breakfast restaurant. A true contradiciton as the first impression of the hotel is one of apprehension due the poor internals and fittings condition. I would recommend with reservations." (3304424540)

Room was kept clean but needed some urgent redecorating as wallpaper coming off walls due to damp which was clearly obvious around base of window. Breakfast and friendliness of staff. Also the plumbing and the TV worked well.
Information. No one told me on arrival in the morning that, if I wanted to get in at lunch time, I would have to go round to the back of the hotel. Also it is very unusual for there to be no soap at all in the room (luckily I had some with me). The room was very hot.

Diamond House Hotel - Guest House, Rugby - Reviews & Ratings"After the worst trip for many a year from Southampton to Rugby, we arrived for a two day break in Rugby. We booked in at the Diamond House Hotel through the internet as their prices were very competitive and the room options suited are needs. .A single room for my daughter and a three bed room for my wife and I and our youngest. Other options are available for 2,3 or 4 person occupancy. We arrived at the hotel not knowing what to expect. Normally we would stay at the Hilton or Marriott, but these options are not available in Rugby. The big question was did we make the right choice. Well YES. This privately run licensed hotel provides you with optimun customer service. Nothing appears to be to much trouble. Both the rooms we had booked were well furnished (TV in each room), clean, spacious and en suite. The only real down side to the room was the small size of the bathroom, although not really a major problem. The hotel has a nicely furnished TV lounge and also a bar that doubles up as a reception area. Not a great variety of drinks, but certainly enough to have a drink before hitting Rugby town or for a quick nightcap on your return. Another good point was the drink prices Coke, Lemonade ETC £0.50, Stella £2.40 a pint cant be bad. The price of £38 per person per night includes a full breakfast. Start with fruit juice, then cereal. Then bacon, eggs, sausage and beans with tea, coffee and toast. Again the customer service was excellent with all hot dishes cooked to order. Unlike a lot of the larger hotels your breakfast was bought to you, not the buffet option used by many major chains. Would we use this hotel again. Well yes as long as the management does not change." (2343729)

Diamond House Hotel - Guest House, Rugby - Reviews & Ratings"Overall, the hotel was very nice, with a large airy room, tea and coffee making facilities, which were replenished each day, fresh towels and soap daily too. We went for the Grand Prix weekend and it would have been nice if just for that weekend breakfast could have been earlier - we had to miss it on the Sunday, although they kindly brought it forward half an hour on the Saturday. It was plentiful and beatifully cooked and served very quickly. The manager and staff were pleasant and helpful, and the hotel was very clean. The conservatory and grounds were very pretty. The only slight reservation was that it needed some redecoration. We enjoyed our stay very much, and would certainly stay again if we are ever in the area." (2051471)
The room was large and comfortable, and the standards of cleanliness were very high.
The room needed some work done around the window bay - replastering and repapering. Toilet seat wonky.

"We would stay at this hotel again provided we were guaranteed the use of a more suitable and larger bedroom. " (108000333)
Excellent location for our needs, friendly and helpful staff.
Size of our bedroom was inadequate for our needs; also there was only one chair available. The room was badly in need of redecorating and there was a large damp patch on the ceiling.
