A hot outdoor rock pool to relax in, a jacuzzi in our room, a mattress designed by NASA and a toilet that cleans your bum for you.... what more could you ask for?!?!? Staff were polite and willing to help, it was all kept very clean.
In order to get to the rock pool, you have to leave by the front door which leaves the entire street to see you in your swimwear. Not so great for my slightly bashful girlfriend! The full English breakfast was not very good, burnt bacon, very poor quality sausages and tight portions. Investing a bit more money on the ingredients and making the meal a little larger would really improve this. I hope they do, as it was the only real disappointment for the whole stay.

Parking was fine after 6pm but could be a problem during the summer so make sure you know where to go. This is an unusual and quirky place, try it!" (107425279)
Very helpful and good email response to questions. Rooms and bathrooms clean, interesting Japanese toilet!!! very deep jacuzzi bath. Bathrobes provided, and lovely hot outdoor pool, not for doing lengths though. Would stay again if in area.
Front of house a little shabby, could be off putting, but clean rooms. Would like to have had a twin room but read that twin room has no window so used double plus sofabed which would have been very tight if I was over 5'7. Very steep steps up to door, also 3 flights to top rooms, not good if mobility is an issue.

Le Chateau Japonais, Hastings - Reviews & Ratings"Once you have got over the fact that it is a large convertyed house in the middle of a resistial street which has permit parking (call hotel to arrange parking pass) The Hotel is a nice place which is situated about 10 minutes walk from the town where there are a number of places to eat. I wouldn't say this is a primary holiday hotel or a place to take a family but as a weekend break for two who aren't worried about the surrounding area and all they need is a good place to stay then this is a wonderfuil experiance if only to use the Jacuzzi..." The Fornt entrance is a normal front door which could do with a bit of a refurb to make it look better and cleaner. Once your inside there isn't much until you get to your room. The rooms are of a Medium size room views are of a normal reseidential area so if your looking for sea view not here, except as we where lucky to have a top floor room you could see out of the bath room window while sitting in the jacuzzi. Which Brings me on to the selling point of the room which is the bathroom. Not very big but it contains a very large and deep Jacuzzi which is about 4' deep. This is extremly lovely and highly recomended. There is also a Japanise toilet which if you are like me didn;t know what to expected then your in for a surprise (nothing radical). Bed was a little soft for me but otherwise very confortable.
When I booked on the Internet the decription on the booking would read as if i had ordered breakfast but upon arrival i discover you have to book this directly with the Hotel it's self. But i don't as much of a problem as there are many places to eat in town. They request money upfront which is I believe they expect people to leave a posible unsocialble hours.

Japanese Loo, jacuzzi and rock pool were all of good standard
The bedroom was hot and stuffy, claustrophobic, cramped with no outside window or natural light. Alarm sounded for over a hour during the night until my husband roused the owner to sort it out - it was a fire alert for the attic - the owner merely turned it off, muttered sorry and went back to bed. We had a sleepless night and couldn't wait to leave.

Water facilities were all good
Sleeping facilities were extremely poor - hot stuffy, small, claustrophobic, no outside window or natural light. Alarm sounding for in excess of an hour during the night until 3am when we had to get owner to act - she turned alarm off which was an fire alert in the attic, muttered sorry and went back to bed. We all had a sleepless night.

Don't come here if you're looking for glossy sophistication but if you want a warm and happy welcome and a sample of Japanese culture it's a find. The hotel is still a work in progress but don't be put off. We definitely plan to go back and next time we'll sample the outdoor hot tub as well." (97357359)

We stayed there on my boyfriend birthday. The Staff was great she gave us the bottle of wine for the birthday gift. All facilities in our room were perfect! Luxury bath, specially Nasa bed is so comfortable you might feel like sleeping on the clouds.We had a great and relaxing night at this accommodation.
One thing is the out side bath called Rotenburo(Japanese style bath) was not warm enough water. We were really looking forward to enjoying this hot pool of this accommodation but it was really clod out side we just had 30sec in the cold water then gave up.

it was very average.
the spa outside, was to far from the room for the winter to get to, it would be fine in the summer, it was a shame it didnt have a covered walkway to get to it for the winter months, we would have liked to have used it, but it was to cold to get there.

They also wanted to try the hot pool outdoors but felt too shy to do so without swimwear. Lovely fresh fruit in the room and a fridge which was nice for cold drinks. Everything provided for generous hot drinks. A minor criticism was that the room smelt damp and the skirting looked grubby and stained which was out of keeping with everything else that was spotless." (3305518465)

Unusual experience, never seen a jaccuzzi that big in a converted victorian terrace! good location to the station and very friendly staff.
Expensive for 1 night and didn't include breakfast. It didn't quite work as a luxury hotel- spa facilities were a little shabby for the price.

Le Chateau Japonais, Hastings - Reviews & Ratings"We arrived nearly 2 hours early but our room was ready and we were welcomed in.The hotel is in a pleasant quiet road close to all amenities.Parking was no problem. Lots of steps leading up to front door-need to be fit! The room was clean but SMALL. We had to move the double bed (most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept on) to pull out the sofa bed my son was sleeping on,and this took up all floor space. The room is advertized as being suitable for 3 adults, perhaps this should be a couple and a very small child. To be fair, the proprietress did suggest we change to a twin room but it was nearing the end of our stay and we couln't be bothered! Problems were sorted out immediately e.g the shower head fell apart and this was replaced practically instantly. The bathroom was lovely with lots of full size toiletries provided. Despite size of room and lack of wardrobes the outside spa and comfy bed made up for this and I would book this hotel again." (3305047457)

The total lack of wardrobe/cupboard space. Disliked living out of a suitcase even for 4 nights.

The room itself was very well presented, the en-suite with jacuzzi was well above standard and unique. The outdoor hot rock spa pool which is open 24hrs where you are allowed to take your own drinks blew my mind and made the stay totally unforgettable!!
there was nothing i disliked about the accomodation except perhaps the abscence of MTV on sky

"I didn't feel welcome at this hotel as the service was poor and I didn't feel that the staff was making an effort. Having spent some time in Japan I can't any Japanese visitor is actually staying at this hotel. The tub and pool are very nice ideas but the overall execution is frankly quite poor." (108698926)
Clean room, nice tub and outdoor pool, location near railway station.
On second day there were no spoons and on the third day the room wasn't made up at all. Room was very hot and noisy as adjacent stairs didn't have a carpet. The double bed was on coasters and constantly kept rolling around the room. The impossibility to book breakfast upon arrival is a major minus point.
