Fabulous owner and Staff. Went beyond the call of duty to service us. Good food and service. Terrific view.
Access and parking was difficult but was ompletely overcome thanks to the terrific owner.

The hotel is on the front with good sea views. It has an excellent restaurant with a terrace overlooking the sea.
The lift is extremely old and small. There seemed to be no facilities/entrances for prams and wheelchairs.

I would highly recommend a stay at the hotel...I enjoyed it so much and it was so clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful
The only bad point was, having booked a seaview room it was noisy due to being on the main road but this did not detract us from our short break.

Friendly and efficient staff; large, comfortable room; good breakfast; accommodating (eg, you can eat takeaways in your room and the hotel will provide cutlery etc).
Wasn't very quiet (noise from neighbouring room, eg, TV and baby, could be heard), TV reception poor or fault with TV - kept cutting out.

Slightly disappointed with the room. It was a premier room but was a bit small and would have expected a couple of comfy chairs in the room.

Spacious, modern room. Bathroom excellent. Lovely sea view, terrace pleasant.
Noise from road and tended to be too warm in bedroom during night. Breakfast arrangements too casual to feel it was a treat.

Staff were kind and friendly,Hotel was having building work done, and the cleanleness was 2rd to none, you would have never have known if had not seen the work men.Food was very good value for money.We were made very special

Very friendly staff. Great value for money especially food and drink wise. No extra charge for room service. Very pleasant room.
Shabby and dark corridors. Too small a lift and old. Shabby bar/eating area. Not enough clothes storage capacity in the room.

Very easy to find. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Room was spotless, cosy, beds were very comfortable - I have a back problem and the bed was very supportive.
I could clearly hear the TV in the next room, so clearly I could tell what programme they were watching. Perhaps a volume limiter would be a good idea.

Friendly staff. The hotel was very clean. Great view of the sea. The car park was convenient (particularly because we didn't have to carry our luggage up all three flights of stairs!) Absolutely non-smoking - brilliant!
The window latch was faulty and didn't close fully so the room was noisy at times. The floorboards creaked quite badly and, although this didn't bother us, I was a bit worried that we would be disturbing anyone in the room below us when we were moving around at night or early in the morning.

Bed was very comfortable, shower was good and nice HD TV in room. Food at breakfast was good
Decor in hotel, apart from room, was poor. Poor noise insulation in room as we could hear children in room across corridor clearly.

The White Rock Hotel, Hastings - Reviews & Ratings"The hotel was advertised as having limited parking which could be reserved for visitors with mobility problems however the website did not state that there were two steep flights of stairs to be negotiated to reach the lift from the car park. The cafe bar was good value, but a number of staff had very limited English and muddled orders. Overall the room was clean, recently refurbished and comfortable.We had a super sea view." (97088791)
The information that my mother had mobility problems had not been passed to the hotel. As soon as they realised they were very helpful, moving us to a room with a walk in shower and advising us where to park.
A handrail would have been useful in the walk in shower for visitors with mobility problems.

The food was great especially the seafood platter. The hotel is ideally placed for a stroll into old Hastings and its many restaurants, bars and cafes. The newly refurbished room was very nice. The bed was huge and comfortable. The bathroom/shower was excellent.
Corridors are a bit narrow when lugging bags etc and they are yet to be refurbished so look a bit grim.

The White Rock Hotel, Hastings - Reviews & Ratings"The White Rock is still undergoing maintenance and therefore some of the corridors and communal areas were a little dingy and dated. However the actual room was bright, airy and of a very high standard with excellent facilities (flat screen tv's, fridge and fair trade beverages). The staff were excellent and welcoming and the service was as good as I have experienced in a hotel. We only ate in the hotel for breakfast, but again this was of a high standard with plenty of tasty bacon on fresh crusty bread for my bacon sandwich each morning. We enjoyed our first night immensely and decided to stay on for another night, not a problem, a quick check of the bookings and the proprietor switched the booking for our room to another vacant room so we could stay on. If we ever come back to Hastings I would definitely stay at the White Rock again" (97170811)
The rooms were of a high standard, bright, airy with excellent facilities and very comfortable. The staff were extremely welcoming, kind and polite.

The bedroom was large and newly refurbished. Very clean. Bathroom was excellent, very spacious with good shower over bath.
The corridors were gloomy and dark. Very circuitous route to get downstairs if you didn't use the lift! The lift would be no good if you were claustrophobic as it barely held two people!

The staff and proprietor were very helpful. Food was good. Room was smart and clean, bathroom superb, view wonderful.
Bedside lights were not bright enough or placed in a convenient position for reading in bed. Vestibule and cafe bar were rather shabby. Lift just big enough for 2 thin people and their luggage.

The position of the hotel was very good and we managed to get into the car park, food very good, staff very friendly & helpful.
We stayed in room 209, next to the lift and the car park exit, which had iron steps and runway. We also had the bottles from the bar being thrown out under our window.

The refurbished room was very contemporary and pleasant. Large room, large ensuite. Breakfast was very good value for money.
Generally the rest of the hotel was a little shabby with apologies made by owners/staff informing us it was under refurbishment.

It was clean and tidy with a great view from our room. The strict no smoking policy is welcome and the staff are always available to assist if required. The creaky floorboards are a real reminder of a bygone era,it was wonderful.
We could only stay three days.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and not at all cramped. Simply decorated.
There was some traffic noise as we were on the sea, which may disturb light sleepers, but it also hear the sea.
