Langhorne Garden Hotel, Folkestone - Reviews & Ratings"For three evenings we booked an evening meal It would have been better to pay more and have a more acceptable meal" (97810678)
nothing stands out very average. It needs to be pointed out that the cost involved was very reasonable.
nothing stands out room very cold when we arrived unable to bath due to lack of any support handles over bath.

Langhorne Garden Hotel, Folkestone - Reviews & Ratings"Hotel was adequate for a one night stay. Having said that i was really impressed that the guy on reception offered to bring a continental breakfast to my room early in the moring (i had to leave at 6.30am). It arrived in good time and was really great. This one act really influenced my perception of the place ina positive way!" (99106153)
very basic but the room was of a good size, clean and warm
Very dated and worn

Good location.
The rooms were of a poor finish. They appear in need of modernisation.

Staff were excellent and adjusted meal timings without asking.
The window pane was loose and caused noise problems during the night.

Langhorne Garden Hotel, Folkestone - Reviews & Ratings"I stayed with my mum and we both felt as though we had stepped back into 1920's. I sent a friend a photo via my mobile and she asked if we were staying in an old people's home! Where on earth can you still buy candlewick bedspreads? The very small tv had a bad picture - the information sheet said that there could be interference from 'the continent'. When we arrived (5.30pm)we expected to be able to eat our evening meal in the restaurant and were told that it was only open in the evening during peak times unless pre booked. There are 'two bars', one inside which looks like a serving hatch, but it was closed anyway and the other one could only be accessed by leaving the front door and walking around the building and going in another door - so might as well just be a pub up the road really! The English breakfast in the dining room was excellent. Whilst the whole place was very tired and old fashioned, it was very clean." (99600005)
The breakfast was excellent. The staff were very friendly.

Langhorne Garden Hotel, Folkestone - Reviews & Ratings"The hotel seems very tired and will need more than a lick of paint to bring it up to date. (Same can be said for Folkestone centre). Bedroom decor, furniture and bathroom fittings very dated." (3305219525)
Pleasant and helpful management and restaurant staff. Bed linen clean and fresh. Reasonable location.
Hotel in need of refurbishment/modernisation. On street parking very limited.

Langhorne Garden Hotel, Folkestone - Reviews & Ratings"The hotel was clean but well worn. We had a room on the top floor and there was obviously a problem with the water pressure because the toilet took an age to refill. We had arranged for a packed breakfast because of our early morning departure (0745-0700)but this was not ready nor were there any staff around even at that time. (I did go into the kitchen) This was disappointing especially with two young children who had to be fed (expensively) at the Tunnel Terminal." (3304733639)
Handy for our departure the next day using the Tunnel
No major dislikes

Langhorne Garden Hotel, Folkestone - Reviews & Ratings"Hotel geared up to bottom of the market coach tours for the elderly, and overnight stays for travellers using the ferries. Parking was difficult. The entire hotel needs a complete facelift to drag it into the 21century. Ensuite basthrooms need renewing completely. I would say that not a penny has been spent on it for about thirty years - except swipe cards on bedroom doors and the odd lick of paint. Bedroom furniture of the type found in back street second hand shops. Nevertheless it was acceptably clean, otherwise we would have walked out. To be fair, we had read the hotel reviews, so more or less knew what we were in for. It was a late spur-of-the moment booking. Got the feeling the owner is just allowing the place to run down gracefully before it inevitably ends up as a b.& b. for benefit recipients. Sorry." (3305020515)
Clean, friendly staff, reasonable breakfast, facilities advertised were present
very old-fashioned, no shower.

Langhorne Garden Hotel, Folkestone - Reviews & Ratings"I would have liked to have known about the car parking situation before booking this hotel because of it's close proximity to local shops,town-centre etc, spaces are very limited,we were luckey enough to get a space and decided to leave the car parked-up during our stay.As for the hotel we literally used it as a b/b as we have an ex-daughter-in-law and a grand-son that live in folkstone,so we sprnt most of the time with them." (3304903912)
central location which suited our needs also handy for town centre.
I thought that the bathroom could do with up-dating but as we were there only two nights it served it's purpose.

Langhorne Garden Hotel, Folkestone - Reviews & Ratings"To be fair to the proprieter we did arrive very late.On the other hand he did know we were going to be late! He was rather grumpy to say the least and you can forget about breakfast if you leave before seven.(it did not say that in the hotel description we thought it was included in the price)Also it seemed to smell of cigarette smoke (not the actual room just the hotel in general)" (3304242330)
We were very disappointed with the accomadation,it looks much better on the outside that on the inside. It needs bringing into the 21st century!
The bedrooms could do with decorating to make them more refreshing and appealing. The sheets were clean which was a bonus.

Langhorne Garden Hotel, Folkestone - Reviews & Ratings"I was kept awake most of the night by a tapping noise coming from the radiator. The room was cold. The 'shower facilities' consisted of a mixer tap over a bath, no shower curtain, had to hold the shower head as there wasn't a fixing on the wall, only had about 2 minutes worth of hot water!! No hairdryer in the room - you need to ask at reception for this." (3304194048)
Spacious room
Heating and showering facilities
