"We found it a very pleasant experience with friendly and helpful staff." (108612091)

I read one comment that the food at The Plough was poor, but we found it very good.

"An enjoyable stay that was good value" (107432365)

Efficient and friendly service in an hotel with a very cozy atmosphere. We enjoyed sitting by the fire relaxing with the papers. Restaurant served a good meal.

"A beautiful old building, cosy bar with roaring fire, great company and a lovely room. Peace and quiet in an idyllic setting - just what we were after to celebrate my birthday!" (107540481)

All the staff were very friendly and the room we were given, in the new wing, was a lovely four poster, and very comfy - we'd have liked to have stayed longer!

The only downside was having no hot water on the morning of our departure. As it was a late booking, payment had already been made and no reduction was offered as a result (although admittedly, neither was it actively sought by us)

"Would recommend to anyone looking for a high quality small hotel, or a restaurant with rooms." (107255252)

A lovely hotel in a wonderful small village with a true sense of community. High quality food, and good selection of breakfast options. Quiet and attentive service from the staff.

    "1 night not long enough " (107216362)

All you would expect from a "quality" country house hotel, traditional comfort, good food and hospitality- yet all mod cons and wonderfully comfortable bedroom- excellent fixtures and furnishings

    "Nice." (108098857)

    Beautiful entourage. Great setting.

I believe previous owner and management did a better job; the food at the hotel used to be a lot better.

"As a couple we previously read the reviews on-line and ascertained that there were new additions to the hotel and therefore requested to be accommodated in the older part of the building, which was met. We may have been disappointed to be accommodated in the newer section had this had not been brought to our attention by such reviews. The food was excellent and good value for money. Staff pleasant. The only real negative was only having a shower in the bath (with no shower curtain), which was a bit disappointing as we had paid for a four poster suite and in past experiences have had such facility included." (97166119)

Being situated in the older part of the hotel. The location of the hotel was of historical interest and rural, as we like it,yet close enough to places of interest. The food was excellent and good value for money.

Not having a separate shower was disappointing.

Character of the old building. Bags of Cotswold charm.

No wifi internet connection in range of the room.

"I was excteremely pleased with this hotel. I stayed in the newer build rooms which were modern and comfy. It would have been nicer if a four poster room was available. The food here was amazing!!! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was a little bit far away from the major tourist sights. But i would recommend this hotel and i would stay here again." (99827199)

Very helpful, friendly staff. Excellent food and service. Clean, conmfy rooms.

Location - a bit far away from major sights!

The staff were very friendly and eager to make our stay a pleasant one. The room was large and very comfortable making it very good value for money and the restaurant food was fantastic.

"It would have been nice to know that we were not going to be in a period room when we booked the accommodation. This was perhaps due to making an on-line booking, but was a disappointment as it was a special anniversary weekend, and we felt it had been rather expensive for what we got. The resteurant was excellent for our evening meal, deliciious food and menu, and the location was lovely with a nice 5 mile cirular walk from the hotel. The cooked breakfasts were not to the same excellent standard however, being a bit greasy." (3305469421)

in a lovely rural location close to walks. Nice en suite bathroom.

The room lacked character (was new, not elizabethan) and was extremely hot, though no heating was on (we went in October, and had the window open all night). Also very noisy as we heard various generators and other guests bathrooms during the night.
