Preston Hotel, Yeovil - Reviews & Ratings"We should have been informed that in spite of a no smoking policy, all the rooms are used by smokers, there was a full ashtray outside. People obviously smoked in the rooms and used the outside ashtray, which was close to our door. It should be illegal now to present rooms such as this as 'no smoking'. This is the worst place I have ever had the misfortune to stay in. After a sleepless night due to the disgusting smell of the bed (old cigarettes and dirty sweat) I complained about the smell and poor state of the facilities was given a discount. Even with the discount it was very poor value for money and certainly should not be registered as 2 star accomodation. If I was you, I would remove it from your accomodation list, it has put me off booking through your agency again." (97879697)
Nothing, other than they took dogs at no extra charge (but no wonder)
Room stank of cigarettes although designated 'no smoking'. Bed far too soft with big dip in middle, only left one set of towels, shower broken, electric kettle socket broken, general air of disrepair and neglect, window rotten, double glazing cloudy, breakfast of cheap tinned beans and tomatoes, sausages so disgusting gave them to the dog.

Preston Hotel, Yeovil - Reviews & Ratings"The hotel has been sold to a new owner. I felt sorry for the lady who was cooking the breakfasts. She was on her own and had to clean up from the night before and then clean again after the breakfasts. She worked like a Trojan and I know the pay is not that good in the hotel trade. She was under a lot of stress and explained that as staff had left, they were not being replaced and more and more was expected of her. She was able to serve us with coffee and tea over the weekend but on the Monday morning, as the hotel had begun to fill up, tea and coffee was on a self-service basis. She offered us a reduced rate - she said she would only charge us " (99006235)
First impression was it was clean and comfortable
No cleaning undertaken in the room. No sheets or towels were changed and the bins were not emptied during the length of our stay. The toilet rolls were not replaced. This was despite someone knocking on our door twice - after breakfast - whilst we were planning our day. We left our room only to return and find it in the same condition as when we left.

The attitude of the staff turned this from what could have been an average experience into a good one. I'd definitely stop there again next time I stop in Yeovil." (99396612)

Preston Hotel, Yeovil - Reviews & Ratings"Room 1 is over the bar so loud music can be heard in the room in the evening. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was good. The beds were comfortable. I wouldn't recommend room 1 of this hotel to a non smoker. I've answered good to most of the questions but down-graded some questions to fair as I do not like cigarette smoke for health reasons ie upsets my sinuses!" (3305285744)
The price was ok. The service was good. Breakfast good. Comfortable bed.
I wouldn't recommend room 1 in the hotel to a non smoker as the smell of smoke came from the bar up the stairs and into the bedroom under the gap at the bottom of the door. The room also smelt of stale smoke. Not nice to see the staff smoking in a room just off the receiption; makes non smokers' clothes smell of smoke long after leaving the hotel! (You may be able to tell that I am an ex-smoker!)

It was a chalet away from the main hotel. The bed was dreadfully uncomfortable - it sagged noticeably in the centre.

Good sized Room, nicely furnished, excellent facilities. Good Food. Very polite staff. Hotel fairly easy to find. We came through Yeovil from the East, directions given were for someone coming from the West.
Nothing, perhaps would have liked to have a window open alnight, but being on ground floor unit. Do you have water bricks in your toilets?.

Was comfortable, clean, friendly and welcoming.
The shower in the bath room was not very good, could not seem to have both hot and cold coming out of it at once therefore could not have a proper shower.
