The Bickford Arms, Nr Holsworthy - Reviews & Ratings"I visited the Bickford arms twice last year and would recommend it to anyone as a base to explore the North Devon and Cornwall area. The only bad point would be if you are on a diet - forget the diet, the food is wonderful." (97419888)
The hotel is peaceful, with safe parking. The staff are friendly, even bubbly! Although the rooms are over the bar, there is almost no noise upstairs. The food is excellent and well priced.
My room was in the corner of the hotel next to a main A road and a side road, although traffic is light mainly farm vehicles it can be noisy with the windows open on a hot day. Traffic noise seems to die down after 10 PM, so there is no problem sleeping, and does not build up until after 7 AM.

The Bickford Arms, Nr Holsworthy - Reviews & Ratings"If we'd known how good this hotel is we'd have stayed longer instead of moving to a diffent hotel for the rest of the weekend. We arrived late, but the manager was happy to keep the kitchen open to feed us - fish and chips excellent. Nothing too much trouble, and seemed happy to look after us" (97795145)

It was in a nice quiet area and close to all the places that we wished to visit. Everything was very clean and well maintained. The staff were all very helpfull and curtious at all times. The food was excellent.

There is plenty of room to park.We had a very enjoyable stay." (99695366)

Very friendly, fantastic food and beautiful rooms.
Very loud traffic all times of the night going past which was a bit of a nuisance and also a bit disappointed that our room, which had a balcony, had no table and chairs out on the balcony to sit on.

It was a quiet night so I do not know whether there might be noise from the bar at other times - Fridays or weekends. More information about the location would have been helpful. It is not in Holsworthy but 10 minutes away and you need to get the right road out!!" (3304810679)
