Brookfield House, Taunton - Reviews & Ratings"Meticulous attention to detail through out Hotel. Cleanliness of bathroom and room was outstanding. Owner moved car around on forecourt so i could park my car. Nice to see cooked breakfast arrives at your table covered from the kitchen. Excellent hygiene. I have never been in a hotel before where it was impossible to find a speck of dust or a cobweb somewhere. Every door and painted surface was as new with not a chipped surface to be found. Extremely Clean room, comfortable bed. Substantial high quality breakfast. Bathroom cannot be described as anything but immaculate.
Slightly small room even though it was a double for a single booking.

The accomodation was immaculate both inside and out, breakfast was large and perfectly cooked. Close to town centre and hospital where we were visiting a friend.

Spacious dining room and excellent breakfast. Made use of TV, tea making facilities and hairdryer during stay. Room clean, airy and very pleasant. It had all the facilities I needed. Breakfast was wholesome, well cooked and ample. Owners were attentive and rang to check my time of arrival, offered helpful advice regarding taxis and booked taxis for me. I chose it because it was close to the station.

Brookfield House, Taunton - Reviews & Ratings"A very handy place to stay to visit the cricket although - in our opinion - a bit on the expensive side (Must be the 'going' rate in that area). The owners were very accomodating and always on hand. There was a good variety of places to eat close by. The breakfasts were beautifully cooked but there could have had a bit more variety with continental type breakfast food. The service at breakfast was very efficient. If we had stayed for a week we would have become a bit bored with the fayre. Overall a very clean B&B in a handy position for a few days stay." (97015385)
Clean and tidy. No unwelcomed smells (cooking etc)Host was very accomodating.
I would not say bad more some could do with attention. Some of the pictures and furniture in our room was a bit dated (two prints had lost some of the original colour) The washbasin was too small (though it would be difficult to fit a larger one in!)the shelf above the washbasin made cleaning your teeth just about impossible unless you were a 7 year old child (the owners should try to clean their teeth in the sink and see what we mean!). The parking can be a problem when full but it would be difficult because of the available space to change that. There was no problem moving cars - if it was necessary.

Room number 2, a double room, was rather compact and had more the feel of a single sized room.

Brookfield House, Taunton - Reviews & Ratings"On reflection, I would have preferred somewhere where I could have relaxed in a lounge as I was a business traveller and had travelled a long way. The owner was very helpful about indicating where a local bar was but 'relaxing' space was at a premium. There was a small chair in the room but as indicated my allocated room was not overlarge. Parking was a little tricky as the hotel was on a main road and a bit of 'juggling' with cars (especially as the decorator's van was there) was necessary. My evening meal was reasonable value for money and the owner happily supplied a wine glass and corkscrew to enable me to have a drink with my meal (I had driven a long way!)" (99988370)
The room and en-suite were spotless. The en-suite facility had obviously just been re-fitted to an excellent standard. The frontage of the hotel was smart and welcoming. The owner was very helpful with care taken to assist with directions etc. Although unlicenced they were happy for guest's own wine to be taken in without charging corkage.An evening meal was available which was fair value for money.
The bedroom (due to be redecorated?) was slightly old fashioned and the bedding, although very clean was due to be replaced I deduced. The bedroom was also on the small side for an overnight business stop. No bar/lounge facility downstairs although a comfortable sofa was available in the breakfast/dining room.

The whole experience of staying at Brookfield is an amazing one! The cleanliness of the room and en suite shower room was a joy. The owners are extremeley nice people who will go out of their way to ensure a pleasant stay.

The appearance and decor of the hotel was superb, neat and tidy and very efficiently run. Hosts were very welcoming and helpfull, nothing was to much trouble. It was within 5 minites walk of the town centre which was ideal for an evening walk to a restaurant or pub.
