Poor breakfast, no soap in rooms even when requested, rather cold and non welcoming attitude of staff. Just rather a bland experience.

    "A good hotel which was cheap - " (107346402)

Hotel in great location, well furnished and in good condition. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

Room was very very warm due to hot pipes under the floor, and 2 of the 3 windows would not stay open. Breakfast was mediocre.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurant food was good (evening) but breakfast was disappointing.

Room was very small (double) and of a poor quality in terms of fixtures and fittings, flooring, decor etc.

"Adequate for our requirements at that time. Pleasant staff and surroundings." (107176284)

Staff very helpful and friendly. Hotel nicely presented. Plenty of car parking. Very comfortable bed. Clean every where.

Very minimum of amenities in the room. Decorating appears to be unfinished in the room. No umbrellas available to go to breakfast in the next door restaurant, got very wet in torrential downpour.

Room well laid out & tidy, staff friendly, helpful, beds very comfortable, shower excellent, room well stocked with tea coffee etc - had a family room & expected a single bed in same area as double but actually had a separate twin room, so even better.

Some road noise, as is not as far set back off the road as website indicates, so not best for light sleepers. Hotel is being refurbished, although no disruption to stay. Having said that, excellent value & so would definitely use again

"The downsides drove me mad, but all in all, a nice room, great location, wonderful clean bathroom and really excellent service." (97038491)

The staff was wonderful, always friendly, always ready to help, always smiling.

Hotel often closed, meaning we had to go next door to fetch keys. Minor maintenance problems fixed with a smile when I asked, but why didn't someone NOTICE and fix them BEFORE a guest had to ask? What makes them think a single 15 watt candle bulb is enough to light that spacious room? Breakfast was extremely variable in quality from perfectly nice to quite awful - green fuzzy mold on the tomato, burned croissants (I mean BLACK), on day one what we termed the worst full English ever and on day three what I thought was one of the best, along with lovely pastries and always great coffee. Just never knew what to expect!

"The fact that building works were ongoing was not made clear. There was an impression of staing on a building site. Having to visit next door hotel for bar, evening meal & breakfast was a slight inconvenience. The food provided in the evening was not of a high standard. Emergency lighting outside room did not work. TV remote did not work. There was no information in room about emergency evacuation in the event of a fire and no information on assembly point." (97610106)

Convenient location for Conference Centre at Birmingham Botanical Gardens

Location on main A456 Hagley Road was very noisy

Breakfast not fantastic -sausage poor. Overall good value for money but did not seem to go 'the extra mile'." (97202581)

    Clean. Good level of facilities.

Room had little natural light. Television reception poor, no remote control, few channels.

Easily booked, nice big room, good bathroom facilities

My room had a huge single glazed bay window which was absolutely freezing! It was very draughty and let all the heat from the radiator out in about 5 mins. Although the bathroom looked nice, smelt a bit and the bedroom could've been cleaner - much dust and stuff on the floor, a couple of stains on the bedding, MASSIVE cobwebs over the picture!! Breakfast was ok but the cups on the table were tea stained - not very nice

"It is advertised with having a restaurant but upon arrival I was informed that this facility was only available in the Hotel Next door. There is no direct access from inside although the hotels are owned by the same people." (97937667)

The original room was adequate for a 1 night stay but I was promptly moved and upgraded to a Mezzanine room which was fabulous.

The TV in the originally booked room wasn't tuned in to all channels. When you are a lone traveller, it is nice to relax without having to stay in the hotel bar area.

"The room was nice, but having the dining room in another building wasn't too convenient. The breakfast was probably the worst I've had for years: no fruit, the coooked food was luke warm and poor ingredients throughout." (97909287)

    Liked the large room.

Cleaning a bit haphazard - some things done and some not. Noisy - more the guests than anything else.

    The bed was comfortable.

Cold showers in the morning, toilet felt like it was going to fall over, loud buzzing from the tv,drafty window and lack of support from staff when requested. Also the guy on reception must have some deal going on with the taxi driver he ordered for us.The cabbie tried to charge us £8.90 for a 2 mile journey.

Room 5 was unique /different, as the bed space is above the bathroom and sitting area

Had to pay on arrival, which is very uncommon and indicates a lack of trust. There was no hot water in the morning, so couldn't have a shower !

"breakfast was not great, did not get served for 15mins and when it came it was not all that goodm very plain and measily. The staff on at breakfast were good, they were just understaffed so it was hard for one to do it on her own. The parking around the back was a mess, mattresses and rubbish evreywhere, thought we were in the wrong place initially, makes up for it in the hotel though. Those are the only poor parts though. We thoroghly enjoyed our stay and the executive room was really nice and light and modern. Would definately go there again. Close to TGI fridays restaurant which is really nice food, recommend eating there instead of hotel." (97791665)

"The hotel was easy to find. Plenty of parking space. Friendly staff. The bulk of the hotel was beautifully presented, however the room i stayed in was tired. I did notice however that workmen/decorators were about so one would expect that the room would be brightened up at some stage." (97151310)

The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very well thought out with furiture.

The decoration was tired as were the carpets which needed a good clean. Personally i do not like carpets in bathrooms as i think they are unhygienic and do not look good. A piece of cushion-flooring would be much better to look at and easier to keep clean.

"The hotel bedroom was an executive double room and was different than anything we have stayed in before. We had a small bedroom, nice bathroom but then another twin bedroom and a living room with colour T V and kitchen sink and work surface. It was all basic but clean and comfortable. We had to go outside to the hotel next door for the bar and for breakfast which we werent expecting but the breakfast was nice." (97947171)

The bed was comfy and the bed linen was lovely white, crisp bedding. The towels were nice thick white towels.

Absolutely fantastic shower.Lovely breakfast.Big comfy beds.

Would have liked thicker curtains as the hotel is on a major road with lots of street lighting/noise.
