Dorian House, Bath - Reviews & Ratings"We did read the reviews on this hotel before booking and we agree with most that the biggest drawback for older people is the distance from the centre of the town and the uphill slog !! However, le patron provided us with the necessary taxi numbers and this worked very well. We found the owner to be most helpful and had a good sense of humour. Overall, apart from the hard bed, we found our stay at the Dorian very pleasant." (97617123)
Nice view of the garden - everything spotlessly clean

Dorian House, Bath - Reviews & Ratings"We enjoyed our stay very much. The owner was extremely helpful and friendly, as were all the staff. Breakfasts were scrumptious, with lovely views from the breakfast room. There was also plenty of parking space. We had a very enjoyable, relaxed stay at the Dorian and would certainly go back." The staff were excellent and the standards of cleanliness very good indeed. Breakfast also very good. Parking and access to the city, good.
The room was on the small size.

Nice clean room that was well equipped and comfortable, many nice touches that seperates it from the run of the mill
No real bad points, I would have preferred a dedicated shower than one over the bath, and breakfast could have been a bit more generous. (1 skinny sausage is a tad frugal)

Beautiful building. Peter who checked us in was lovely. The breakfast girls were efficient and very friendly. Breakfasts were to die for. Loved the room.

High standard of interior decor. Very clean and well organised. Steff very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast.
Did not enjoy the classical music played at breakfast it was a bit loud and stressful.

No Wi-Fi meant important reports could not be sent, should not advertise as having Wi-Fi unless it works, maybe due to being top of house and far away from modem! Hotel ideally situated for reaching Bath centre." (97503441)
Room clean and comfy.
Couldn't get Wi-Fi, signal too low, couldn't complete work online. Breakfast room too busy for me to be seated, asked to come back, no problem, 10 mins later, still not ready but others had been seated before me. Had to go to work no breakfast. TV lost it's signal in the morning, didn't come back.

Dorian House, Bath - Reviews & Ratings"I have stayed in a five star hotel identical to this one in Bath and the difference between the two was parramount. The building was lovely, room nice etc but the staff lacked friendliness and customer care." (97593051)
It was very clean, quiet and comfortable.
On arrival we were not told anything about Bath and its attractions. We were only shown the dining room and not the lounge. On leaving the hotel we were not asked anything about our stay or even where we might be off to next.

The Hotel is very nice, although I only really experienced my room and the breakfast room. My room was quite small, and the ceiling on the window side sloped quite steeply, meaning that I had to stoop when in that part of the room. This is what solo travellers get used to putting up with. Otherwise the room was excellent, and very quiet. Breakfast was very tasty and served efficiently. For the money, and the location, this was very good value." (99505768)

The ceiling near the windows sloped, which was inconvenient - I had to stoop when going to that part of the room.

The hotel was very clean and homey. It was located within a reasonable proximity to Bath city attractions. The room was beautiful with what appeared to be a new ensuite. Meals were very good and staff was courteous and helpful.

The Staff were very helpful and effiecent.My room was clean and very comfortable, the unsuite was modern and the shower was hot. The view from my room (which was at the front) was stunning. Breakfast was the best I have every had, there was lots of choice which would appeal to everyones taste, and it was plentyful. All breakfasts were made freshly for you, and you never had to wait long. Staying at the Dorian House Hotel lets you experience a taste of Bath." (3304324552)

As I have mentioned above there was a certain lack of warmth from the manager which almost detracts from the personality of the hotel, but this wasn't enough to spoil our stay. Small hotel - adequate car parking - spacious room with opening windows and a very attractive dining room for breakfast. The food and service was excellent.
A little further than we thought to walk into Bath. It was no problem to us, but might be to some people, especially as it was on a hill.
