Breakfast room / lounge was nice, relaxing and inviting
The bed was bad. Worn out springs and squeeks kept us awake all night. The blinds did not work correctly and did not block out daylight. (Room 12) Also there was no hot water on final morning for shower.

The Metro Rooms and Breakfast, Newquay - Reviews & Ratings"Very pleasant hotel, nice location, so easy to walk into town and visit local restaurants. Lovely reception area and wonderful to have such a long time to have breakfast, not being rushed by a certain time. Very much enjoyed our stay. My husband and I have waited all year for a week off and it coincided with out first wedding anniversary. We had a lovely relaxing week, thank you." (3305312978)
Very friendly and helpful.
The mattress on the bed was terrible. We both had backache and neckache throughout the week and only now, one week later is starting to go. The toilet was very smelly and even during the night the smell of the drains wafted through the room

Friendly, helpful staff. clean room with modern furnishings, with all the facilities we needed. Great having self service breakfast with plenty of choice. the kitched was also well equipped and it was a bonus we could buy food and prepare/eat it there, rather than having to eat out for all our meals. Also close to beach or an easy walk into town/cheap taxi ride.
My friends stayed in a room with a sky light and found the room to be too warm. the skylight did open but weather was rainy. They found the portable air cooler put in the room ineffective, perhaps a fan would have been better or a properly installed aircon machine would have improved their stay.

Hhaving an online booking facility was the main reason why I chose the hotel. The self service kitchen was good fun. The staff was very kind.
The top of the wardrobe was very dusty and the toilet seat was not cleaned properly.

The Metro Rooms and Breakfast, Newquay - Reviews & Ratings"As we arrived late, our check in info and the room key was left jammed in the locked front door, nobody was present, an emergency mobile 'phone number only was provided. In the morning the breakfast area appeared empty but closer examination revealed the bare minimum of choice, bread, cheese a toaster, butter, preserves etc with a small cereal selection. Croissants arived via a female member of staff after the 7.30am breakfast start time, with barely a word spoken. To make conversation I asked her if we were the only ones booked into the hotel, her reply was she didn't know....shortly after this a gentleman arrived, whom we assumed to be the proprietor as he did mention to the single female who was working in the breakfast area that there was money to be paid on check out. he made no attempt to speak or introduce himself to us and we felt an inconvenience to the hotel" (2805190)

The Metro Rooms and Breakfast, Newquay - Reviews & Ratings"The hotel was great, provided everything you would require when on holiday for a very reasonable rate, access to a nice continental breakfast as well as facilities to prepare your own food was most welcome, the outdoor pool was great for cooling down after a day in the sun. Our only grumble(which is no fault of the hotel) was the skylight room we booked was just that, a central room with no windows but a small skylight to let in some natural lighting, but nevertheless the room was reasonably sized, comfortable bed, good facilities and lovely and quiet at night, perfect for a good nights sleep after a long day." The hotel had a much better overall appearance than the other similarly priced hotels in the area, with modern furniture and fittings. The only serious complaint was the range of food supplied for breakfast, and if you came down within 20 minutes of the end of service 8:30 - 9:30 many of the items were not replenished either." It was modern and stylish and we liked the relaxed atmosphere. We also liked the 24hr self service access to the breakfast room and free internet access.
Noisy Plumbing, eg. Water heating and other rooms showers and toilets etc.

I almost didn't go in because of the outside appearance, however as soon as I entered the hotel I realised I had found a gem. The free drinks (juice, tea, coffee) and the bread, yogurts, biscuits etc was also a lovely added extra. Security is also excellent. I will definitely return." (99522155)

I found the metro to be a pleasent departure form the normal run of the mill hotel at this price, the owners and staff were first rate, and I especially liked the do it yourself approach to catering, not tying me down to a set meal time. I would deffinatly stay again

I liked the relaxed atmosphere and the use of the kitchen facilities whenever we pleased. My boyfriend and i enjoyed our weekend away from the hustle and bustle of London. Great to relax. There is also parking which is helpful if you have a car. Short walk to beaches, bars and restaurants. Short drive up the coast to more secluded surfing spots and other beaches." (3305067244)

The Metro Rooms and Breakfast, Newquay - Reviews & Ratings"Just the right balance of a professionally run, well looked after hotel and a wonderfully relaxed attitude! Friendly staff who couldn't be more helpful, stylish but warm and welcoming rooms with everything you could need - even Fairtrade coffee! The excellently equipped dining area/kitchen was available 24 hours, meaning snacks and takeaways were never a problem - and the continental breakfast was available until midday, meaning you could have a lie in without feeling too guilty! To make a return visit even more tempting, previous customers get a further 10% discount on the already really competetive prices. If I had to make any criticisms it would be that the hotel is in a fairly residential location, and although a beautiful beach is 10 minutes walk away, it takes a little longer to get to the main beach and town area, maybe 15 - 20 minutes (though this could have seemed longer because it was raining!) - the walking wasn't a problem for us, though. All in all I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone and would definitely consider going back!" (3304465244)

The Metro Rooms and Breakfast, Newquay - Reviews & Ratings"This hotel has a very modern approach, it is very informal with breakfast times and allows guests to help themselves to kitchen facilities and hot drinks as part of the accomodation. There is also free use of the internet and access to a living area with widescreen Tv - the decor in the communal areas is modern and homely and exceptionally clean. The rooms are adequate in size, have all you need, with decent hairdryer, alarm clock and tv. Again the rooms are exceptionally clean. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and eager to make your stay enjoyable and confortable. I will definately stay here again and would strongly recommend it to others." (2947956)

We were made to feel welcome as soon as we checked in and found that the girl on reception was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very modern but also warm and welcoming. Our room had everything we needed and was exceptionally clean. The breakfast room is a brilliant idea.

No having to worry about getting up for breakfast as you just wake up and help yourself. Must try it in the summer when we can use the pool. The Metro Rooms and Breakfast, Newquay - Reviews & Ratings"We booked 1 room for two nights at a bargain price - I expected the amount we paid to reflect the quality of the hotel, but this wasn't the case. The room was large, airy, spacious and tastefully decorated - it was also well equipped with hairdryer, tv, radio alarm, coffee & tea etc. The 'self service' breakfast was very novel but worked really well, and there is also a heated swimming pool which I would have made use of if we'd stayed longer.
