Clean and adequate accomodation for the purpose of our visit.
No fire escape in the building although there were three floors of rooms with very steep stairs. Breakfast was fairly minimal after being described as an "English Breakfast". Although we were enjoying a chat with fellow residents after breakfast we were invited to leave the dining room at 9.30am. There was no guest lounge facility.

The Europa Guesthouse, Whitby - Reviews & Ratings"Our choice of room was restricted because of late booking but the room was adequate, clean and had an extremely comfortable bed. The hotel had brand new towels purchased by the proprietors. Water was consistently very hot. The hospitality tray was well stocked with tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits. We would recommend this hotel to others who would like a friendly welcome and excellent service." (107932145)
We complimented the proprietors on their welcome and their service.
Our accommodation was in a small second flour room where television reception was almost non-existent. This primarily because of the use of an internal aerial. Poor tv reception in our room was the only negative aspect of our stay.

Clean - Freindly - Good Breakfast - Nice People Running it.
Kettle was fualty (it turned itself on sometimes / Also it turned itself off before water had boiled). Hot & Cold Taps needed to be looked at, the water was not running out as it should. (Very Slow)

The quality of service was excellent, very helpful with local knowledge. Food and service were also excellent we could not have been made more welcome.
The small double room was located at the top of the house as in attic type room. There is no lift so a fair level of fitness is required. It also helped that we are not the tallest of people due to the sloping cealing.

The Europa Guesthouse, Whitby - Reviews & Ratings"The Europa beems Victorian charm and elegance in a small neat package. Positioned in a very easy to find part of the town, this hotel pleased us from the moment we set eyes on it. The couple running the show are kind and friendly and ensured we had everything we needed. The room was excellent for the price and the bedding was of a very high quality. We had a couple of issues with the shower going hot and cold, but it's an old victorian house, so you never expect plumbing to be a plus point! As all we needed the room for was to rest our heads after a busy day/night out in Whitby, it was ideal. And there's nothing like cereal, toast and a modest, but high quality full English breakfast to cure a hangover. We were lucky enough to get a reservation for the fabled Goth Weekend at the end of April 2009. So we're going back for three nights! So in summary, great value, homely feel, lovely people. Slightly thin walls, but if it's too loud, turn the telly up! " (107998280)

Room was clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Location was convenient. Breakfast was good.
Room was tiny. Shower alternately scalded and froze you. Getting to room was like climbing north face of Eiger!Bed was very hard.

Very convenient for our event, warm & cosy, very friendly owners.
Being on the top floor meant that the stairs got a bit steep! Parking can be a bit tricky, but you just have to persevere.
