Raven Hall Hotel, Ravenscar - Reviews & Ratings"Generally enjoyable but pricey, even though we did not pay the full hotel rate." (107299556)
Excellent cooked breakfast. Lovely grounds and scenery.
Swimming pool out of order, not acceptable at the height of the holiday season. Bedding could be better.

Raven Hall Hotel, Ravenscar - Reviews & Ratings"What a super spot, lovely hotel, lovely views, lovely walks, would definately book again if the rate is right." (97905564)
Excellent location, excellent food, super facilities include 9 hole golf (free), indoor pool & sauna plus gym. Super old building, creaky floorboards & lots of character. Added bonus of seeing seals on the shore below the hotel.
High bar prices, some areas a little tired looking. Not really anything going on in hotel and lacked a bit of atmosphere after evening meal.

Very comfortable Hotel with good food. Lovely atmosphere. A bit off the beaten track but the view across the bay more than compensated
No bad points as far as we were concerned.

Raven Hall Hotel, Ravenscar - Reviews & Ratings"In a great central location with access to both scarborough and whitby and surrounding areas. We weren't aware there was a swimming pool we would like to of been able to of taken advantage of this facility. They have a good recreation choice and walks. The food served was exceptional silver service excellent and staff exceedingly polite and attentive. The decor beyond the restaurant/bar/lounge areas are in dire need of refurbishment." (97376777)
Hotel is in a great position. Staff are attentive and very polite. Food is exceptional. Decor in lounge/bar/reception is modern and fresh but going through the hotels corridors and rooms this area is in dire need of refurbishing decor is looking very tired and tatty. Our bedroom was a very spacious 4 poster bedded room. Again decor was very tired and ripped. No ventilation assuch in the bathroom where the shower was on either boiling or scolding!! We will however return and on doing so it would be nice to see the required work in process.
The only thing we didn't like was as mentioned before the tired, tatty decor in corridors and bedroom

Raven Hall Hotel, Ravenscar - Reviews & Ratings"The whole weekend was excellent and relaxing. The staff were extreamly friendly and curteous. We had our evening meal both nights in the hotel and they exceeded our expectations. The only minor problem we had one night was lack of hot water for a shower in the evening between 6 and 8 o'clock. Probably due to demand. WE HOPE TO RETURN VERY SOON." (97266468)

Excellent Dinner
Breakfast. The plates used were too, too small a reasoanable brekfast from the buffet could not be presented correctly. 1st morning buffet not working and main breakfast meal three items on plate not ordered and the whole plate looked like pig swill, I sent it back. Buffet service was resumed and I HAD A RESONABLE BREAKFAST.

We wanted a quiet and enjoyable break away from a busy lifestyle and the Hotel was perfect for this. Everywhere was so very clean and neat, the food was wonderfully varied and we were really well looked after all through the stay. So everything we wanted from this holiday was satisfied by the way the Hotel went about taking care of us throughout.
Being totally honest there was nothing to dislike at all. Television reception was less than might have been expected but as we were there for a break away from the usual daily things this was a tiny matter in comparison to all the things which worked so well for us.

Raven Hall Hotel, Ravenscar - Reviews & Ratings"We experienced a power cut from breakfast through to nearly 7pm one day -due to a problem at the local sub station (not the hotel). This meant that the kitchens were strugglying to cook breakfast and the central heating went off. When we arrived back after our day out at 4:30 there was still no heating or electricity, yet the reception staff were extremely courteous and very helpful - when we said that as dinner would not be served until 7:30pm at least they recommended other eating places." (97234191)
Friendliness of the hotel staff, the location and the facilities.
The poor service at breakfast. The person who showed us into the room should have been delegated to take the drinks, toast and any special cooking requirements order - we had to chase someone to ask for these.

Raven Hall Hotel, Ravenscar - Reviews & Ratings"Generally very comfortable. Staff welcoming. Breakfast well cooked. View from bedroom glorious. Only blemish not being able to sleep for water pouring in through window frame at 4 in the morning. We have been twice and will come again but not room 108." (97803337)
Generally very comfortable.
Water pouring in from above window at 4am during heavy rain. Judging by marks on windowsill has happened before.Room 108. Had to line windowsill with towels to soak up water and reduce noise.

Raven Hall Hotel, Ravenscar - Reviews & Ratings"The hotel has a very relaxed feel to it and the location is stunning. All the main tourist attractions are very easily accessible from the hotel whichever direction you choose to go. Would love to stay again for longer and do some walking or horseriding around the local area. The view from the restaurant is beautiful and the breakfast itself was very nice. Staff were very friendly and effcient. Hope to come back soon." (97834852)
Very comfortable bay view room, and lovely generous bath towels
On first sight the sitting area seemed a bit shabby, but after that the ambiance of the hotel was lovely

Raven Hall Hotel, Ravenscar - Reviews & Ratings"WE ARRIVED SLIGHTLY early @ 1.50 but could not have the room key until 3pm, did this response have to be so rigid? The service @ breakfast was not very good. It seemed that staff were not allocated tables to service and therefore it seemed rather chaotic and there were long waits. Nevertheless the hotel provided reasonable value." (97084532)

Large comfortable room with wonderful view.Evening Meal was very good.
Car Park was away from reception, it was raining, nobody offered to help with the bags. Bar prices were high.Breakfast did not show the same flair as the evening meal, no fresh fruit or mushrooms for example.

Raven Hall Hotel, Ravenscar - Reviews & Ratings"We have been to the hotel before but never stayed, now we cants wait to stay again, as well as the room been perfect with the view it was the attentivness of the staff that most inpressed us, we had a evening meal and were looked after all evening as if we were the only people there. Our break was last minute planing but all at ravens hall made it perfect and we cant wait to visit again Thank You" (97395208)
Every thing was clean and tidy, the views were fantastic, we also liked the idea that the cleaning staff had left their card so if there were any problems you knew who had cleaned your room

"Very disappointed" (97967282)
Fantastic views (once out of hotel room) and grounds.
Poor value for money in regard to rooms, not what we expected. Tired decor. Actually tatty at points with flaking or no paint at all on window frames. Water stains on window woodwork common Very low quality of bathroom in particular. Sink loose on wall with missing sealant around bath. Oh, towels were very nice!
