Ashburton Hotel - B&B, Scarborough - Reviews & Ratings"Stayed for three nights and found it very good value for money - the full English breakfast was one of the best I have had anywhere. There is no residents lounge available - that would have been useful but wasn't a major problem. If you want something to eat in the evening there are facilities 100 yards either side of the hotel or you can walk UP into town in ten minutes. I emphasise the 'UP' - although there is the short but steep route and the longer but less steep route. However if you have a problem with gradients then you shouldn't really be in Scarborough." Clean and comfortable. Excellent choice and quality of breakfast. Proprietors are friendly and welcoming. Free to come and go as you please.
Double room was a bit tight for space, particularly if you wanted to sit and watch TV.

The location of the hotel is is in a good position for the shopping centre and also the sea front." (97836670)
We had the four poster room which was large and comfortable with a setee for added comfort.

The staff were helpful and breakfast was excellant with plenty of alternatives to the full english. The whole hotel was clean and the rooms were comfortable but the shower was weak and I was a little concerned regarding fire exits being on the top floor." (99366822)
The breakfast was excellent with a good choice. Room was clean and comfortable, adequate car parking.
Shower in the ensuite was weak. The room was at the top of the hotel and would be very hot and stuffy in warm weather. Could not see any fire exit apart from main stairs.

Very good value for money and friendly staff who allowed us to leave our car in the hotel car park after we had checked out saving us having to pay parking charges in Scarborough. The owners were friendly and helpful, which was very pleasing, but overall it felt like most of Scarborough: a bit downmarket and in need of a revamp. Cheapish. Not too far from the centre and beach. Owners were friendly and helpful.
Showerhead was broken. Room rather overcrowded. Needed modernisation and redecoration.

Location to town and sea front
Parking can be difficult. Can park on the drive but likely to get boxed in. Can park on the road but only up to 3 hrs during peak hours. However, this is the same for most of the hotels in this area

The hotel was really near to the sea front and the owners were very friendly. The hotel also has its own parking spaces so we didn't have to pay to park during our stay. The breakfast was excellent. This hotel is a great place to stay in Scarborough I would book there again." (3304986956)
Nice confortable room with nice decor and duvets! no creepy bedspreads and sheets. It also had tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
Bed was too soft for my liking.

Hotel was clean and the room was tidied everyday and tea making facilites plentyfull. Our room was on the ground floor which was a bonus.
The only fault with the room was the bed. I only slept one night in it made my back ache, very unconfortable, needs a new mattress. I slept on the sofa bed rest of the stay.

Our hosts were friendly and welcoming. The bathroom was very smart and modern.
Our bedroom was very small and there was some noise in the early hours from guests returning to their room. Parking was a bit of a problem.
