The food was fantastic
The beadspread had stains on. The blanket was an old brown bobbly thing - vile. Very very quiet to the point of being frightened to speak. No music in bar. Good if you are 80 years +.

Hurtwood Inn Hotel, Ockley - Reviews & Ratings"Wonderful location but will not be staying again." (108139284)
Location of Hotel is great and vibe of village is wonderful.
Room door left open all day by cleaning staff and each day having to ask reception of an additional towell - even though we were booked in as a couple. Bed was broken and leaned to one side. Shower pressure was non-existent.

Hurtwood Inn Hotel, Ockley - Reviews & Ratings"The approach via a residential housing estate is a little unusual. Once there, the hotel is a typical 3 star catering for both business and leisure guests. The staff make the place. Everyone was pleasant and helpful - the owner, bar staff and waitresses. Next morning, I checked out but did not have an appointment until later in the day. The man on reception advised that I could stay in my room using the free wireless network for as long as I wished." (108555859)
Excellent staff. Good reasonably priced food. Well stocked bar with choice of local cask conditioned beer.

Hurtwood Inn Hotel, Ockley - Reviews & Ratings"Large-ish room with standard hotel facilities. If staying longer would have liked to try a meal in the restaurant as the menu looked nice and the breakfast was nice with good quality ingredients. I would stay again. " (108667375)
Nice location, nice building, standard kitted out room but of a good size. Good rate for room received through activehotels website.
Breakfast was slow to come out, but I think they just forgot about us. Other people were getting their breakfast in a reasonable time.

Excellent reception on arrival; I was very well looked after and accomodated for a very early breakfast by the same person. Comfortable bed.
The room for a single was a good size. The shower rather shabby and some noise when opened window.

Hurtwood Inn Hotel, Ockley - Reviews & Ratings"Location, quiet, family room with discount price made this a good choice. Would seriously consider going back if in the area again. Can't beat the quiet and beauty and the nice staff. " (107922241)
Beautiful and very peaceful. Some staff were very friendly and made up for the other not-so-friendly ones. Value for $ in this area of England with older kids. Very workable although not fancy.
Family room is older and really needs a facelift to be rated fair/good. Poor communication amongst staff frequently, but they fixed it quickly. Grumpy old ladies at front desk not a good start. Internet access is difficult.

Hurtwood Inn Hotel, Ockley - Reviews & Ratings"A fantastic place in an idyllic setting with the most generous and helpful staff. A must-visit!" (107896876)
A beautiful hotel with the prettiest views! Really comfortable bed and relaxing atmosphere. The best point of all though was the wonderful staff - one front-of-house staff member generously offered to drive us to and from a party (with a 1:30am pickup!!) at a discounted rate from local taxi firms. He went out of his way to help us and that was greatly appreciated. After a late night and desired lie-in, we were told that it would be okay to keep the room until 1am, as nobody was due to check-in later that day and no charge was incurred for the extra time, which is brilliant service. To top it all, when we got home and panicked at the realisation that we had left something of sentimental value in the room, the receptionist who answered the phone to our desperate call, kindly retrieved it for us and sent it back by registered mail the very next day. The Hurtwood Inn Hotel has a kind and welcoming staff and the place itself is just a very pleasant environment in which to stay. I would highly recommend it to anybody and everybody!
It is hard to pinpoint anything bad, as we had such a wonderful stay. The only points I can make as constructive criticism would be a rather slow service at the bar (once ordered, food was prompt, but it took a while for some customers to grab attention of waiting staff...) Also a hairdryer either in the room or listed as a 'rentable item' in the handbook would be helpful. These are very small points though and did nothing to change our overall positive impression of the hotel.

Hurtwood Inn Hotel, Ockley - Reviews & Ratings"Overall we had a good stay apart from brealfast" (107933957)
Only ate breakfast but we enjoyed the food. Reception staff were very helpful when we needed a taxis. Bathroom was very good. Lovly location.
We had breakfast on Sunday Morning and the service was slow and dis jointed. Items were running out on the table with cereals and juices etc. The two young girls were struggling to maintain the service and we left the dining room still waiting for a pot of tea. I would suggest an element of management supervision would of helped these two young girls a great deal.

This hotel was clean and very friendly. Our room was just what we wanted and was very comfortable. The staff were excellent especially the lady who served us in the restaurant for dinner on our first night and breakfast on the morning we left. She always seemed to be aware of our needs and made the experience most enjoyable. Thank you.

Hurtwood Inn Hotel, Ockley - Reviews & Ratings"Do not think I would stay there again, neither for leisure or business. If the rooms were modernised/refurbished it would be a good hotel." (107325735)
Staff were very good. Surrounding area was stunning. Wi-fi worked very well. Breakfast was very nice and well presented.
However, the room was poor & old fashioned the tv looked like it was originally aboard Noah's ark. No signals for mobile phone or dongle connection. The shower did not work properly. Food was very expensive, but very good!

Hurtwood Inn Hotel, Ockley - Reviews & Ratings"Good" (107659913)
Staff were very polite, the room was very clean and the breakfast was very nice. We left two coats in the wardrobe by mistake, and after contacting the hotel about this they sent them to us the next day first class, which I was very impressed by and appreciated.
The room was not sound proofed properly so you easily hear the nrighbouring guest in the bathroom and listening to the TV.

Hurtwood Inn Hotel, Ockley - Reviews & Ratings"Fulfilled all our expectations for a lazy overnight Sat/Sun stay at an unbeatable price. Behind the scenes our youngest son and his wife had ordered champagne to be available in the room for our arrival and this was not only a nice surprise but was executed by the staff "to the letter"." (107600853)
Friendly staff. Superb location. Perfect for enjoying the Surrey Hills. Everything you would want without being pretentious.
Poor service of Sunday Lunch in the bar. Since the menu was the same as that served in the restaurant, waiting nearly half and hour after the order was too long

Hurtwood Inn Hotel, Ockley - Reviews & Ratings"We had a lovely night away and we will definitely come back again soon." (107726098)
We booked on line and got a good deal on the price of the room. The breakfast was one of the nicest we have ever had in a hotel. We requested a bath rather than just a shower when we arrived and this caused no problem with the Receptionist, who found us an alternative room. We really loved the village shop!

Pleasant reception staff, reasonable room
Poor restaurant staff, long wait to be served, food portions small and very expensive. No alternative restaurants for miles so not possible to vote with my feet.

"Situation delightful - must be lovely in summer! Bar could have been cosier but main building of hotel was comfortable and most staff welcoming." (108673055)
Friendly welcome and good service. Evening meal and breakfast excellent and chef came after the meal to see if we had enjoyed it. Warm rooms were welcome.
Our room in the annexe was well below standard and overdue for refurbishment. Special offer should not mean bad room.
