the bed was to hard to sleep on, we didnt have a shower and had no signel on the tele. the breakfast was poor, not cooked properly.

Fairly central, friendly staff, spare pillows, single night booking acceptable a few days before a bank holiday Saturday.
House is a former private home, c 1890; bathroom a bit cramped into corner of large double room.

Breakfast was good and served promptly.Very close to town and sea front, excellent location. Staff quite friendly. Good value.
Rust on toast holder, a bit off putting! Bed was very close to the wall and difficult to move around the room. Shower was very slow, with no pressure and very small compared to huge size of bathroom..

Very welcoming and friendly staff.
The bathroom was very narrow and had a shower attached to bath taps. Would have prefered a shower above the bath.

Location was excellent
Although there were no smoking signs up the room appeared to smell of smoke and the shower was really outdated and needed modernising

Close to town & local amenities
uncomfortable bed, room not very clean, shower barely working, can't drink the water but no displayed notices just a small note in the back of the information book. Breakfast was also sparse and the cereals were all considerably out of date

Clean, comfortable room with a good breakfast and friendly staff.
Would have preferred a shower in the en-suite as well as/instead of a bath. Hotel locked on arrival mid-afternoon and didn't have a mobile phone to ring the number posted on the entrance door. Had to wait in garden for another person to arrive who had a mobile phone. Luckily the sun was shining!

It was very nice accommodation with a nice big double bed,warm shower and a nice toilet.Polite staff and lots of information on attractions in and around the area.Easy and lots of parking sapce.Overall a very good hotel.
no channel 5 on the telly.

Close to amenities
Bed was very uncomfortable, room was not particularly clean. Breakfast on the final day was very poor - no sausage or bacon in a full English!!!!!

Close to the seafront. Free car park.
It's dirty - dirty lunch boxes were inside the drawers; A layer of dust on the dressing table; cob webs in the en-suite shower room. It's out-of-date - it takes both my husband and I 2 days to work out how to use the shower; the shower waste hole is semi-blocked; and the decoration is gustly. Unfair terms - no reductions for early departure. And we were not even consulted and told about this charge, only to find out after we came back from holiday.

Extremly nice and silent, home/family athmospere, comfortable beds. Also full English breakfest was wery tasty.
I really missed shower in bathroom and also English lavatory with extra hot and cold tap are strenge, we use to mix hot and cold water.

Gervis Court Hotel, Bournemouth - Reviews & Ratings"The outside, entrance, corridors and communal areas were dark,dismal and unviting. The double bedroom was clean though very small and in need of an update. The bathroom was large, though the shower was small and inefficient. Hot water flow was poor. Breakfast time was limited to 3/4 hour from 8am, and the dining experince had an instituntial feel. Although the food provided was well cooked, there was no choice offered to the cooked breakfast. Although staff were friendly, apart from breakfast time, were not readily availble. The whole hotel was in need of an upgrade and we felt the accommation and ambience did not give a good impression to foreign visitors." (99195052)
Central to main town
We had to ring the door bell several times to gain access, and in an emergency, a notice on the door informed us we were to ring a mobile number to obtain assistance. The entrance, corridors and main areas were dark,dismal and unviting.

Gervis Court Hotel, Bournemouth - Reviews & Ratings"WHEN WE ARRIVED THER WERE NO TOWELS IN THE ROOM, SO ASSUMED YOU DIDN,T GET THEM, WE WENT OUT BROUGHT 2 LARGE BATH SHEETS AND A HAND TOWEL, ONLY TO FIND THE NEXT DAY WE HAD BEEN CHANGED ROOMS AT OUR REQUEST BUT OUR TOWELS HAD BEEN TAKEN AND SENT TO THE LAUNDRY, BY THE WAY WE ARE STILL WAITING TO RECIEVE THEM? Gervis Court Hotel, Bournemouth - Reviews & Ratings"I was not impressed by being asked to pay in full for the booking despite this being made some 4 months in advance of our stay, but the convenience of the hotel location to a function we were attending persuaded me to continue with the booking. However, despite having booked 4 months in advance, our travelling companions found that they were double-booked for one night and had to be moved to alternative accommodation. Whereas it is accepted that mistakes do sometimes occur, it would have been nice if some offer of a discount could have been made to them for the inconvenience and for the lower standard of accommodation they ended up in, but regretfully this did not happen. The staff at the Gervis were very friendly and welcoming, and the public areas of the hotel were light, bright and well-furnished. The only thing missing that would have finished it all off would be a nice little residents bar area. What a pity the room let it all down. Although the bed was very large (two singles pushed together), one of them squeaked horribly whenever one moved a muscle and the bed linen didn't seem to fit properly. Of course we only found this out when it was too late at night to do anything about it. Although some parts of the room looked good (nicely tiled bathroom and the free-standing bath, useless for a shower incidentally), I'm afraid the overall impression was dark and dingy. There was a vague smell of damp in the bathroom and the window frame in the room was rotting. Breakfast was OK - excellent coffee. I stay in many hotels and pubs of varying standards across the UK as part of my work. The Gervis is streets away from being the worst one I've stayed in but, equally, a long way from being the best. The staff were very pleasant and friendly. The public spaces were well kept, clean and tidy.
The room was dark and rather dingy. The bed squeaked. The bathroom smelt damp. No bar in the hotel.

Gervis Court Hotel, Bournemouth - Reviews & Ratings"Asked for access with not steps as I was travelling with my elderly mother who cannot get up and downstairs easily, was told elderly people manage the stairs well. On arrival we had a stone stairway to climb (not too bad) but had another staircase to contend with when we went down for breakfast, this was not so easy and my mother found it very difficult, so will not be staying at this hotel in future with my mother. Food OK, cleanliness acceptable, room needs updating." (3304462134)

Gervis Court Hotel, Bournemouth - Reviews & Ratings"We enjoyed our breakfasts but we did not like to see the hotel cat walking around the breakfast room, jumping onto the chairs and wandering around the kitchen/food preparation areas. Breakfast was also too early for a holiday hotel, 9 am (even on a Sunday) is too early. The staff were very helpful and polite." (2987703)
The hotel was in a very convenient location for the beach and the town centre restaurants etc.
The shower was very small and didn't work very efficiently.

Gervis Court Hotel, Bournemouth - Reviews & Ratings"Check in process was very easy. The hotel propierter was friendly and approachable. You felt that had there been a problem, there would have been no problem asking them to fix it. The room was clean and tidy. There were spare quilts, pillows, blankets etc in the cupboards, should you wish for them. The view of the hotel gardens was very nice. The room we stayed in came with a bath, plus shower attachment. I have read elsewhere in reviews that there has been problems with water pressure in this hotel. In the room we stayed in there was no such thing. The water pressure was just fine. All standard amenities are provided as standard. ie, clean towels, changed daily, guest soap, shampoo and conditioner sachets, tea and coffee making facilities. I had brought a small travel iron and hairdryer with me, but the hotel information did advise that if you wished to borrow these from the hotel, all you needed to do was ask." (3304776409)
