Macdonald Pittodrie House, Pitcaple - Reviews & Ratings"Satisfied overall but won't be recommending that others go there." (107468783)
Food very good
Service, especially pre-dinner, poor.

Old mansion house in lovely countryside. Open log fires in lounge and dining room created a relaxing ambience. Friendly staff.
Felt dinner at £35 was overpriced for the standard of the food compared to other hotels at similar standard and price.

Macdonald Pittodrie House, Pitcaple - Reviews & Ratings"Lovely place, with good staff, but don't stay in room 8 if you want a view." (107985019)
Location, food, staff, lovely and quiet
The tiny room with it's view of the kitchen extraction flue (an executive room...). The hotel credit card charge was a blast from the past - an unwelcome one.

Macdonald Pittodrie House, Pitcaple - Reviews & Ratings"The room was lovely but not sparkling clean as the brochure said it would be. The whole bathroom needed a clean. The food was simply not as good as i would have expected it to be considering the prices for everything. The breakfast was undercooked too. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The food and the cleanliness of the room was a letdown which is a real pity considering how nice the hotel is overall." (3305066831)

Macdonald Pittodrie House, Pitcaple - Reviews & Ratings"What a beautiful venue for a wedding, food at the reception was extraodinarily good and hot! It's our third wedding this year so we know that takes some doing. The ground and in particular the walled garden was spectacular. Well done!" (3304324238)
comfortable and clean
shower strength not quite as good

Macdonald Pittodrie House, Pitcaple - Reviews & Ratings"Scotland at its best: the atmosphere, the very friendly people, great menu, spacious rooms and the best views. We have lived in the area for almost three years and Pittodrie house feels like coming home again." (3304326076)
From sitting in our bed with a morning cup of tea (and shortbread ofcourse)we had the most beautiful view of a snow covered Bennachie.
The lounge area: the chimneys do not work well which means the room is covered in a blue haze most of the time.

The unchanged appearance and antique furnishings and decor.
Earlier breakfast time, say from 6.30 or 7am. The 7.30 start makes it very difficult to get to Aberdeen in time for a 9am conference.

Macdonald Pittodrie House, Pitcaple - Reviews & Ratings"I thought the hotel was amazing, the food is first class, the staff are very friendly and treat me and my wife like royalty, the location is absolutly stunning, i will definately visit this hotel again next year for my wedding anniversary it is a real gem." (1408759)
The hotel has a real feel for the country, log fires, decor, paintings etc.
The four poster beds, the bathrooms, the wooden floors and the real log fires.
