I asked for a room with a bath, which was adequate, and good value for the price. Food is good, and service friendly.
Some of the rooms are very poor: I was shown one with a shower and toilet in a small "cupboard" in the corner of the room, and a sink squeezed into another corner; hardly meeting the description "en-suite"

Bedding and towels clean and adequate drawer and wardrobe space Warm, Food good and staff most helpful.
It was en-suite at the expense of space in the room - only just room for one at end of bed and little room either side.Toilet bags could only go on the floor and plaster was broken or missing in places about floor level.

Bedroom was basic, bathroom looking very "tired" Shower curtain smelt rank, dirt behind wash basin pipes.

Staff were friendly and efficient. The restaurant food was lovely - above average
Bathroom was dirty. There was mould in the shower cubicle, dirt behind the wash basin, and the tiles and floor were not clean.

Excellent breakfast, easy access to bar and food at other times, very friendly and helpful staff, great strategic position for touring Lincolnshire by car.
Squeaky bed, some difficulty in flushing toilet (but alternative toilet easily accessible).

it was away from the traffic very peaceful
accomodation good but the breakfast staff was very rude we wanted not to be seated so close to the other tables to have our breakfast. We were all pushed in to one corner. I requested another table but was told off like a child!!!!!!

The Staff were very freindly, the food was good and the bar and restaurant relaxing.
More attention to detail needed in the accommodation, although the bed was clean the rest of the room would benefit from a good deep clean especially within the en suite.

Good location and a very fine bar with a very nice collection of old and vintage whiskies.

Electric heater hanging off wall and failed to work on full power. Room needed cleaning and decorating. Furniture grim. Ensuite too dirty and mouldy to use. Breakfast abso;ute disaster. One poached egg on toast. one cup of chocolate, one other slice of toast. Fruitjuice. What we ordewred failed to arrive and stafff went missing. Left hungry and digusted by such an awful experience. Place was dark, gloomy and needs a good clean. We were obliged to purchase a proper breakfast elsewhere. Have stayed in many Hotels and B and Bs over many years and never anything as grim as this. Local authority should inspect this as a matter of safety." (99812178)
External appearance was of a coaching inn
Bedroom very cold and unwelcoming. Poorly furished , dark and not too clean. Heater hanging off wall. Cobwebs on ceiling. Ensuite black with mould. Obliged to put heater on and go out for couple of hours to warm room up. Worst ACCOMMODATION WE HAVE STAYED IN FOR MANY YEARS. Breakfast ; Ordered eggs and bacon. One egg on toast no bacon . Not offered cereal. Staff disappeared and we were obliged to leave and purchase a real breakfast elsewhwere.

We bought a bin-end bottle of wine which was excellent value. The accomodation where we stayed was in a separate part of the building, with its own entrance, a short walk round the back of the pub. The room was small but comfortable and clean. Overall it was an enjoyable stay." (99896091)

It was a pleasant surprise for us that, although the restaurant was fully booked for the evening, because we arrived relatively early we were invited to use the restaurant for our bar meals. The bedroom was separate from the main building which meant that noise from the bar could not be heard.
The room was only just of adequate size and we had expected more toiletries in the bathroom (e.g. shower gel, shampoo and soap).

George Hotel, Marston - Reviews & Ratings"The George Hotel is in a quiet village but is within easy reach of Lincoln and other large towns (Sleaford, Newark, Grantham). The accommodation is in a separate annex at the back of the George, with a relatively small number of rooms. This means that the staff are attentive and very helpful. The restaurant is well worth eating in, I has a deliciously cooked steak, and is relatively inexpensive. The Hotel also does bar snacks too. The bar area isn't large but with a courtyard outside well away from any possible traffic, though there really isn't much going past the George. A very well run family hotel, that I'm going to use again." (3304778488)
