Best Western Moorside Grange Hotel & Spa, Disley - Reviews & Ratings"The purpose of the stay was to celebrate a 60th birthday with other family members. We were looking for a good quality hotel, with easy access to walks and other attractions, with good food. The Health Club facilities and excellent food, and the overall relaxed ambience of this hotel, plus its beautiful location (the good weather did help !)were all bonuses. The weekend was an unqualified success, due in no small parrt to the fact that the hotel was everything we were hoping for." (97802161)
The position of the hotel - ideal for walking. The Health Club facilities were very good. Food - excellent - general dining room ambience and service - excellent.
The room was very nice, with lovely views from the two windows - but I banged my head a couple of times on the low beams, and the rooms was rather cold at first - until we discovered that the radiators had been turned off ! (The low beams did add to the attractiveness of the room, however !)

Best Western Moorside Grange Hotel & Spa, Disley - Reviews & Ratings"Expected better from the Best Western chain of hotels" (108025248)
Food was excellent Leisure centre staff were helpful and efficient
The first room we were shown was unsuitable for guests due to damp patches and a replacement took a long time to arrange.Breakfast buffet was spoiled by having to request basic such as fresh juice, bread for toast, butter and marmalade and crockery. Beverage orders were delivered incorrect 50% of the time.

Nice and quite location.
Lack of plug points near the bed. This prevents you from using laptop while you in the bed.

Best Western Moorside Grange Hotel & Spa, Disley - Reviews & Ratings"This was a good weekend break with little fuss but plenty of staff interest in assisting when asked. They provided walking routes, info about the local churches, a platter and candles for the birthday cake (which we brought with us!!), and much much more. Every little request was attended too immediately. Fabulous Spa facilities! Excellent value for money. A wonderful local environment - the views were great and the immediate countryside was very walker friendly. And if the weather had been better we'd have thoroughly enjoyed the hotel's external sports provision too." (97264445)
I was happy with the simple but adequate provision in every department, food, rooms, service etc I was delighted with the spa facilities. I appreciated their environmentally friendly aspect to towel replacement etc. I was amazed by the staff's efforts to assist our family with the 60th birthday celebration meal. They really pushed out the boat - and didn't make exorbitant charges for the service! Lovely.
All our party noticed a smell at the entrance - as soon as it was mentioned action was taken. (I was surprised they didn't notice it themselves??) Also some chairs in the dining room needed replacement and were very saggy. Some disruption at night emptying bottles in a bin outside our window - but only very briefly. Real life isn't perfect but these were the only problems and seemed very minor.

Facilities, B&B pricing, staff, rooms all good.
Dinner overpriced and poor menu. Drinks prices extortionate.

Best Western Moorside Grange Hotel & Spa, Disley - Reviews & Ratings"The fantastic price included dinner, bed and breakfast. The food was certainly good enough - in fact it's what I expected of Table d'hote (as opposed to gourmet). The spa area was really well-equipped and all operational and clean. Whilst the hotel was full and noisy at times, this did not detract from it being spacious and good value." (97052872)
The room was well-equipped and clean
The walls were thin enough to be disturbed by next door on both nights.

The restaurant on the one evening we used it was rather expensive for well cooked but quite ordinary food. We will return provided we do not overlook the noisy patio again." (99344790)
Very comfortable and clean. Lovely views.
Our room was over a patio that was occupied by a noisy party until 2a.m. on our final night.

The location of the hotel was outstanding as was the quality of the food and the service provided by the staff in the restaurant. We didn't get a chance to use the leisure facilities but they looked very inviting. We would definitely recommend this hotel. The only slight thing marking it down from a 10/10 was that my room was very hot. I opened the windows as soon as I got to the room and left them open all night. It was 5 degrees outside when I left the following morning but my room was still very hot." (99305314)

Best Western Moorside Grange Hotel & Spa, Disley - Reviews & Ratings"Plus points included lovely location from which we could walk, pleasant public areas and very good leisure facilities, particularly an 18m swimming pool. Restaurant atmosphere a bit barn-like, food reasonable but sweets rather disappointing. Nice bottle of White Rioja! No information in the rooms about local places to visit, events etc. Staff helpful and courteous." (99761536)
Pleasant view and comfortable room, although decor a bit old-fashioned.
Room airless and hot, even with window open, very poor lighting, especially for reading.

The food was over priced considering the quality and choice on the menu. The hotel was in a excellent location for the walking holiday we had planned." (99093671)

The hotel was in a nice setting with plenty to do in the surrounding area. Booking online was simple. I just wish some of the staff would appear more friendly." (99555973)
Excellent pool and spa facilities
Staff appeared generally apathetic. They did not smile. When we left, the receptionist did not ask us if we had a good time, or hope we come back or have a safe journey. During dinner one evening, I had to ask three times for a jug of water.

The hotel is in a lovely setting the scenery is breathe taking. Some parts of the hotel need re decorating but i'm sure after the refurb that will be happening soon it will be a fantastic hotel all round.

Best Western Moorside Grange Hotel & Spa, Disley - Reviews & Ratings"I would definitely recommend staying at Moorside Grange! A very relaxing hotel and surroundings with a fantastic leisure facility and spa. The food in the bar area was excellent and appeared to be better choice and value than the actual restaurant. Breakfast was very good with an excellent selection. The pianist in the bar was particularly entertaining and seemed eager to show off his repertoire with requests! On the down side when I tried to run a bath on the Saturday evening after coming back from a trip to Buxton (about 20 mins drive) I could not get any hot water. Our room was right above the function room which got really noisy on the Saturday night when there was a corporate do on. We did get offered another room straight away though so not really a big deal. We got a realy good price on the internet so, with the excellent facilities of the hotel and the good sized, clean bedrooms this was a very enjoyable, good value weekend." (99527855)
The leisure club and the piano bar.
Our room was right above the disco. Fortunately we were able to swap rooms when there was a function on the Saturday night otherwise it would have been really annoying.

Location, health club facilities
Possibly due to decreased staff numbers in the inter-holiday period, some small items of the service received were not as they might have been but not enough to spoil the stay. Lack of information in the room either about hotel facilities or local places.

Best Western Moorside Grange Hotel & Spa, Disley - Reviews & Ratings"The hotel was extremely difficult to find as the brown tourist signs disappeared half way up a lane. Once found the hotel was clean and all staff friendly. The only issue was that the menu was not explained and it was unclear that you could mix and match from all menus and that the supplements applied to all as it stated that they only applied if on inclusive rate." If paying full price we would have been disappointed in the shortage of staff and the jaded rooms. The food was adequate but nothing special, so slightly overpriced. The hotel is in a wonderful location so we do hope it can be refurbished and they treat the staff better. It then has makings of a first class hotel." (3305291540)

ON SATURDAY ON RETURNING TO THE HOTEL AFTER FAMILY WEDDING WE WAITED ALMOST 15 MINUTES TO GET OUR ROOM KEY AS RECEPTION WAS SO BUSY. THE BREAKFAST WINDOW IS TOO SHORT WHEN THE HOTEL IS FULL. BREAKFAST 8-10. AT 9.30 ON SUNDAY THERE WAS A QUEUE OF APPROX 30 PEOPLE WAITING FOR A TABLE. THIS WAS SO LONG AND SO HOT TO WAIT THAT MY DAUGHTER AND HUSBAND,WHO I MADE THE BOOKING FOR, DECIDED THEY WERE NOT PREPARED TO WAIT ANY LONGER. "overall good stay" (97642360)
stayed in the same room as our previous visit. room 401 is ideally situated for us, it is quiet, close to the staairs which lead to the swimming pool and resturant
having to give permission for 150.00 to be taken from our credit card account on arrival as a prepayment for any items we put on the roon charge I did not recieve a slip to identify the amount taken at the end of our holiday, we actually only had 2 news papers which totalled to 1.00. I would have liked this confirmed in print.
