"I only paid £59 for 2 people for one night in central London – it was OK for one night's sleep. " (108844651)

Very cheap. Very near Victoria coach station/underground. New kettle/clean crockery.

Room seriously in need of updating. Beds and bathroom were clean but the facilites were very old. Mould around the window.

our room window was situated to railway where we could hear all that noice from incoming and outcoming trains, so every time our room was shaking like it was a earthquake...i was not very happy and didnt feel very comfortable in that hotel

"The place is good for just an overnight stay. Continental breakfast included, and you can choose which type of coffee you want to have from a machine, so that's good. But don't ask much comfort for a low-budget place like this." (108535534)

Good location, very close to Victoria Station and not far away from touristic venues such as Buckingham Palace or Westminster Abbey and the Houses of Parliament.

The rooms are rather small, and not much aired. There's no lift in the hole house, even though the bedrooms are placed in several floors because there aren't many rooms on each floor.

"Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and comfortable and we were able to conduct our business with minimal inconvenience (except for the phone calls)." (108771748)

Convenient location; breakfast was adequate; accommodation was small but not claustrophobic; courteous staff

Shower head did not work - water sprayed everywhere;Inability to make external phone calls on the room phone (we were informed of the need to make a deposit on phone calls after the service was requested and received for one call in particular)

    "very disappointing!" (108739275)

Absurd price for such a terribly room. Nothing is in an acceptable condition. We were really shocked when we saw the shared bathroom, I took a shower with my eyes closed.

"Overall....good. However, if I stayed again, would prefer a room on a higher floor." (107823217)

Great location of the hotel and excellent reception on arrival! The Manager on duty was friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful.

The room was quite damp and cold.

"Good value, clean, friendly and welcoming staff. Hotel is a basic grade 1* but for the money it would be hard to do better in the location." (107777612)

Excellent value for money, and great proximity to Victoria Station. For the size and type of hotel (budget) the breakfast was very good, and tea and coffee available all day in the small breakfast room. Tea and coffe making facilities are provided in the room too. I had asked for a ground or first floor room and this was given.

Proximity to the train tracks makes all the rooms a little noisy, but not enough to stop sleep. Rooms are small, I was upgraded to a triple, and I thought there was only enough space for one person in the room. If three people shared, there would not be sufficient space to dress etc. Fixtures are basic and getting old, but in working order and reasonably clean.

    "It was adequate." (107664457)

The Hotel was clean, staff friendly

The breakfast area was within the reception area. It was very cramped and there were not enough seating for everyone, Only one toaster. Had to queue to make our own toast and coffee. Otherwise the breakfast was adequate.

    "ok" (107950556)

Good breakfast, clean room (beds very nicely made) towels clean and neatly folded etc., very! near the train station (Victoria)

Terribly worn down room in general, needs to be renovated ASAP paint falling off the walls. etc. TV not working, main lamp not working, very very small room could hardly fit our 4 beds (the 4 of us, 2 adults and 2 teenagers could not move around in the room at the same time) price way too high for the room at it's current standard.

"This hotel was chosen on price and, as they say, you get what you pay for. However, although I am willing to compromise on comfort for a cheap overnight stay, I do not consider short, dark hair in my orange juice (as I am a long-haired blonde) acceptable. " (107167602)

Single and double bed in twin room.

Staff tried to explain the meaning of 'refreshments' to me, a British journalist and editor, in broken English when I asked where I could get a drink. Hair in my orange juice. Cramped and overcrowded breakfast room. Overall feeling of uncleanliness. Bathroom too cramped.

    Not much

Shabby, noisy and a steep climb to the top floor with luggage. Shower was half hearted and the en-suite pod was unpleasant. Staff were not friendly and there was no deadlock on the door. Got disturbed by very noisy people coming in late at night and by the sound of the trains coming into the station, just underneath the window - not a good experience

We had a ground floor- my mother is elderly and this was great for us.

    I can not complain.

The genuine friendliness and helpfulness of the Desk person. the fact he and others spoke good English. Normally you encounter total incomprehensible languages

Maybe the temperature of the room was a tad cool. I was not there long enough for the rads to heat the room.

"Location was good for getting around. Disappointed after my first nights experience, very basic and no in room toilet, although toilets where available, expected full suite based on information when I booked the room. I wish more hotels would do breakfast earlier as 7:30 is too late for me, 7:00 would be better, so I could still get to work by 8:00." (97709682)

    Location was good

Room was changed on arrival to one without a toilet, yet told I was upgraded as I now had a shower, was expecting both on original order. Room was used by a smoker and old cigarettes and ash still in the bin room smelt of tobacco. I don't think the linen had been changed either. Second and third night was fine as the room had then obviously been maintained and was comfortable.

"We have never stayed in such a run down hotel. There was no room to move, not even to bend to see in the mirror above the wash- basin and shave etc.,also the lighting in that area did not work. The room was generally grubby and desperately in need of re-decoration and re-furnishing. The room was on the third floor and even though we are fairly fit 60 year olds, we found the steepness of the stairs quite difficult to deal with. Just one look a the very small and basic dining area situated behind the reception desk was enough to put us off even considering eating there." (97186425)

    Location only.

Room was on third floor (no lift) and was generally very unpleasant to stay in.

"We had a five minute laugh my son and me when we arrived. Okay, you got what you pay for and London isn't one of the cheapest places. As far as I could se the hotel was clean. The small room that was used as reception and breakfast room wasn't suitable for so many guests AND as reception at the same time. But we just sleep at the hotel and had 3 night of good sleep so exept from price we are satisfied." (97330540)

Location was good for our purpose

"I wanted accommodation that was cheap and clean and very close to the station and that is exactly what i got. I had expected it to be a little noisy at night from the trains but this wasnt a problem at all. the water in the room was always hot and there was a heater for extra heat that wasnt charged for." (97799172)

As promised it was basic and exactly as I expected. All the staff were pleasant and helpful. We had no complaints with the accommodation at all and would use this hotel again. Extremely close to the tube and main lines which was excellent as we do not know london well.

Only complaint was that there qere not enough seats f0r breakfast. .and the toilet floor was very slippery after people had used the showers as there were no bath mats

"We are amazed that the Edward is classed as a hotel at all. It should simply be classified as a one star boarding house. Somehwere to put your head down at night and nothing more. There is no excuse for charging these kind of prices." (97735009)

Location near to Victoria Coach Station

The price - 90 pounds for a dingy horrible room; the interior of the hotel is in dire need of redecorating, the bed was awful, the dining room being part of the reception office is dreadful. More like a backpackers than a hotel.
