Attractively furnished room better than expectation. Breakfast varied, tasy and plentiful
Didn't look like an ordinary Hotel so difficult to identify as such. Carpet cleaning required in foyers and corridors. Changing the large shower heads to the new 'atomiser' type would save money.

Good value, clean comfortable room, well equipped. Free Internet especially attractive.
Very minor - there was no TV remote, but was supplied when requested. TV has only terrestrial channels, could easily include Freeview. NOt enough sockets at the desk, but there were others near the bed so it was only a very minor inconvenience.

clean room, not massive multistory hotel like so many nearby at Heathrow. Nice grounds.
Room smaller than expected, but modern and clean. Bathroom shower hard to turn off. TV reception poor, just 5 terestrial stations and most poor reception esp 5. Bit like staying on college campus with Government college adjoining.

The only thing that was good was the breakfast
This is not a hotel. It is a Civil Service training establishment which lets out rooms. Romms in accomdation blocks. long walk to the "restaurant", Very very poor menu for evening dinner forcing us to look elswhere to eat. I couldgo on and on. Basically. WHAT A DUMP!

The food was excellent
The advertised facilities did not match the reality. The pitch and putt was overgrown, the bars did not open til after 6pm and the bar area was not the most comfortable. We were also disappointed with the state of the outdooe beer garden which was very unkempt and in a real state of dis-repair

The resturant manager was really good and was forever watching and noticing things. Just felt that the rooms could be better equiped and the entrance to rooms ans hallways need new carpets." We thought the breakfast was fantastic. The grounds and Northcote house wonderful.
The entrance halls needed cleaning carpet dirty and stained and the door was always open so no security except the lock on bedroom door. Whoever designed the rooms must have been a man, as there was only one mirror which was in the bathroom!! No good for drying hair or seeing what your outfit looked like. Also the contraption housing the TV was ugly and a waste of space. It would have been better on the wall with a chest of drawers beneath as storage was lacking especially as there was only one bedside table again no storage underneath. And nowhere in the bathroom to put things. A long mirror should be placed somewhere in the room.

Clean rooms - coffee/water machines free in reception and lounge area outside the resturant
would have like to have booked into our room early as we were attending a wedding at 1.30pm - we were given a small single room for 2 couples to change in which was a bit cramped to say the least! Quite noisy could hear next doors TV/them showering water running - The walls are very thin.

location and setting was lovely and staff were friendly.
the TV reception was very poor, going in and out of picture. there were bee's nesting/trapped in the air vent above the bed. there was no convenient mirror in room to use when drying/styling hair. the right hand side tap in the shower was broken in half making it difficult to turn.

Very poor sound insulation - I could even hear snoring next door!! - I would have liked a bigger room if available. Parking spaces a bit tight for a large car.

Beautiful grounds surrounding hotel which is in a very affluent area
No information from staff or in the bedrooms with regard to where breakfast room/ restaurant/ bar was/ how much/ what time etc. Hotel was like a campus and a good walk from the bedrooms to the bar/ restaurant. Not ideal in bad weather.

Not as it looks on the web site, more like a university campus. The restaurant was like a busy cafeteria, had to go outside to eat.

Staff were very helpful. Low price.
Shower was tepid both mornings. Second morning, I ran it longer as I needed to wash hair, nearly cold until right at the end when came warm, after about ten minutes. The room was extremely hot the first night we stayed, stopping me from sleeping. I couldn't work out how to lift the middle blind and was frustrated at not being able to get any daylight into the room. I was a bit surprised on arrival at the hotel as it didn't meet my expectations following the booking. It seemed more like a hall of residence. I'm sure the parkland was there but it wasn't obvious and I didn't get a chance to go and look for it. I realise the price was low and we can't expect too much from that, but I just found it didn't really match the description on the internet.

The setting, grounds & location are very good.
The food & drink that I had was was poor. I arrived late so I opted for a special bar snack & it was disgusting (the supervisor stated that she wouldn't eat it either)! I purchased a bottle of Becks that was "flat" & the bacon served for breakfast was like nothing that I'd seen before.

Obviously the layout of this hotel is not in the usual format, as can be seen on the website, but I can assure anyone thinking of staying there that there is nothing to be worried about, after reading some comments. Reception is pleasant, the block we stayed in(Bridges) looked like it had had a recent refurb as the bathroom was newly fitted and the room was worthy of a four star hotel. A short walk to the dining room in the morning and again a lovely welcome from staff and everything you could wish for to start the day! Unfortunately, we didn't have a chance to see the beautiful grounds as we were on a tight schedule, but we will certainly be back again soon! " (107973895)

Staff very friendly and Helpful.
No general info eg breakfast times, check out times, etc in room. Our room was next to people staying who were attending christmas parties at the hotel. so it got rowdy in the early ours. As we were a family with a baby it would have been more appropriate to have been put in a quieter part of the hotel, or put all the party goers in a separate part.

Very clean and staff pleasant and professional. Very cheap for London.
Room very small. Breakfasts at the weekend were like being at a football match. Complete chaos, with too many people trying to dine at the same time and not enough staff to cope with the demand. It was an absolute free-for-all. We had to clean our own table and go hunting for cutlery. Had to wait in a queue for 10 minutes to use the x1 toaster, which was for the use of approximately 200 diners in there at the same time. Madness! This wasn't the staff's fault as they were clearly trying their hardest - It was just that there simply wasn't enough of them. The breakfast staffing needs to be doubled, at the very least. This is clearly a management problem.
