"Staff were very friendly and I thought it was very good PR to upgrade me as there happened to be a spare double room and I checked in around supper time, so it was very unlikely that anyone else would have taken the room. I really enjoyed my stay plus it is very well positioned for transport. " (107214382)

Staff were very warm and friendly. Entrance to the hotel is very inviting and feels upmarket. Good breakfast. Room 17 was wonderfully quiet. Nice and warm. Great duvets and nice pillows. Windows opened easily. Nice bathroom products. I liked the fact that the price quoted included breakfast and VAT.

Sheet is straight on mattress with no undersheet - which made it feel a bit like a hostel. I thought the bed was going to seem hard but infact I slept wonderfully although I did fold the duvet in half and sleep in the middle which got around the issue of no undersheet and the potential hardness of the bed. Carpets in my room were rather grubby.

"I was very disappointed with how small the room was and also the fact that we were put into the basement. This was to celebrate my partner's birthday so I was obviously hoping it would be very nice. The hotel itself was extremely clean and the staff were very good." (97619054)

    Location

    Smallness of room

Cleanliness was excellent. Although I only used the one towel, there was plenty there for my use. I asked for a quiet room and was given one, which was very helpful. I, as a woman travelling on my own, feel very safe at the Queensgate. Desk staff were very helpful.

A bit awkward getting to room as there are a lot of fire doors to go through.

very clean, nice decor/furnishings, lovely sheets on bed, helpful staff, great location.

room was small but given the price, location, comfort and cleanliness this did not bother me.

Good sized room with large comfortable bed. Adequate clothes storage. Good TV.

No tea/coffee making facility. Beneath bar/dining area with noise from this through ceiling.

Terrific room in a quiet hotel close to good transport links.

No in room tea & coffee making facilities

Fifty Four Boutique Hotel, London - Reviews & Ratings

"The hotel lacked atmosphere. The room that I stayed in did not have an en suite bathroom (although I do not beleive that the bathroom was shared) - whilst I had not specifically requested a room with an en suite bathroom, this was completly unexpected and fell short of the standard of privacy I would expect from a 4* hotel." (99185167)

The room was clean and quiet, the bed was comfortable.

The room did not have an en suite bathroom. To get to the room, there was a non-lockable door which led to a small vestibule, off which were 2 doors, 1 to the bathroom and 1 to the bedroom. The bathroom door could not be locked from the outside, although the bedroom door would automatically lock so that it could not be opened from the outside when the door was closed. It was necessary to take the room key to the bathroom or alteratively to leave the bedroom door adjar so as to avoid being locked out of the bedroom following a trip to the bathroom. Also, in the corridor and stair areas the carpets were soiled, partly due to ongoing re-decoration and there was wet paint on various walls throughout the stay.

"Overall the hotel was adequate as we were attending a wedding at the Natural History Museum and it was very convenient. I think it will be nice when all renovations are complete i.e. carpet on stairway. Simple things like soft clean white towels and robes are a must. Staff were very nice and friendly nothing was a problem." (99867408)

convenient location. Nice breakfast and very relaxed atmosphere

carpets on main stairway very dirty which was off putting. towels and bath robes very shabby. Meant to be white but looked like grey and years old.

The staff were excelent and the hotel was in the perfect location for us and was easy to get to by tube.

I would say that the hotel was nice but a bit over priced.

"The hotel was very nice and well situated and the staff were very helpfull. The amount of noise seemed more than most other hotels, this could have possibly been due to the fact that we were in the basement and near to the cleaners. The noise from the banging of the coffee machine in the bar came staight down to our room, so any one having a cappuccino at 7.30 woke us up." (99829667)

    very spacious and pleasant decor.

considering we were told it had just had refurbishment the room was a little grubby, particulary the carpet.

"Dining facilities were very limited being in the main lounge area also where smoking was permitted. Parking was difficult as car park was quite a walk, however, we managed to park on street out of paying time. Generally the stay was adequate." (99427162)

    Bedrooms were contemporary and clean

Carpet throughout common parts was very soiled not giving a very good impression also breakfast facilities were a bit limited with eating spaces.

It was good value for the price, bearing in mind this is in Central London. It was modern and clean.

The room was a little compact and a little noisy-sounded as though we were over the boiler room. Breakfast was good if available in basic surroundings.

"I would have liked to have known about the lack of coffe/tea making facilities in the room and perhaps it would be better to be able to do it yourself instead of having to wait for a staff member to assist. Otherwise I found Queen's Gate to be comfortable with an adequate breakfast. The Hotel is within easy walking distance from the Tube and coping with luggage was not a problem. I found the staff to be efficient and willing to assist" (3305084827)

I found the room to be quite spacious and airy with a good bathroom. There is plenty of hanging space (and hangars)

There were no coffee/tea making facilities in the room and one night there was a lot of noise from the lounge area well after midnight.

Accomodation fine, but no tea making facilities in room. Faulty fire alarm, which wakened me twice - not what I wanted before an exam! staff good.

"I had read some bad reviews on Trip Advisor about this hotel but found them to be unwarranted. The Queensgate offers excellent value for money in a lovely part of London with easy access to underground." (3304256556)

Location was perfect and no street noise. The staff were very friendly and helpful . Well designed ( if on the small side )rooms. Comfortable bed abd all equipment in good working order

Nothing really except that space for breakfast was fairly limited and there were really only 2 proper tables for eating.

"I would stay there again. Eric was very helpful. We did ask for a second fan, but it never came and we had also requested a king-size bed which would have fit nicely in our room (4). I understand that space is at a premium in the UK, so I was grateful for such a large room. However, I still find that the price was high. Because of the lack of light and messy stained carpet, there was a bit of a messy appearance." (3304700806)

The room was a good size. Really liked the French doors and couch. Great water pressure

There are a lot of stains in the carpet through the hallways. For a room that size you could at least put in a King size bed.

"Very pleased with the cleanliness of the hotel and the friendly staff. Both rooms booked were in the basement, they were very clean with beautiful bed linen and towels but were extremely hot! We were kept awake during the early hours by some very noisy guests, talking loudly and slamming doors. Continental breakfast was lovely with a good selection. Overall, we all enjoyed our stay, and would stay there again." (3304530644)

Very clean and the staff were very friendly.

    Basement rooms too hot.
