Hotel Ritz, Florence - Reviews & Ratings"Stunning location, but overpriced for the quality of the accommodation. Pleasant staff, but not responsive to the complaint made after the first night. Public areas were down at heel and tattered. If this is four star accommodation, God protect me from 3 stars!" (99015167)
Only the location
For a four star, the bathroom was appalling, rusty pipes in shower, chipped shower basin, cheap soap and a truly dreadful smell from the drains. The window opened onto a stunning view of the Arno, but when we closed it at night it could not be opened and was not fixed for the second night despite being reported at 9.30am in the morning. Never again it was very poor and not cheap

"The hotel was well located at about 10 minutes walk from the SMN. However, this walk takes longer during the day and if you have heavy bags, there are a lot of closer hotels which would make life a lot easier. That being said it was a nice location (other than the busy road which runs by the river Arno) and the staff were friendly, the room was clean and tidy (although I think more 3* than 4* which tends to be the case in Italy). Also the breakfast was very limited but had a little variety." (107315959)
The views of the river were lovely, that staff were friendly and the hotel was well located.
The main road which runs direct outside is busy all night and the curtains in the room were only a thin chiffon so it was very bright very early!
