"This was my worst experience i have ever had of staying in a 4X hotel,i think it was an absolute disgrace for PAYING guests to have to be put in this situation,Reception should have used some forsight, and placed us away from the party group. As for no cold water i am lost for words.Would we stay again ( never) not even for free!!! " (108764720)

staff were very helpful, and friendly. The breakfast was very good.

Mattress on the bed was old ,and the springs played a tune at the slightest movement. The cold water tap did not work at all,so we did not have any water to make tea,or clean our teeth, except from the bath tap!I reported the problem of the cold water, and was informed it would be passed on to the maintenance department, but it was not repaired during our two night stay!!! We were allocated a room on the same floor as a group of guests staying overnight for a xmas party ,and had to listen to shouting and banging of doors till 4.0am in the morning, at this point we had lost our patience and i called reception and complained, only then did the noise finally die down.We do not go to bed till fairly late ourselves, but this was just to much, and left us feeling quite tired the following morning. We were offered a free nights stay as compensation, and excepted a £52.00 discount for the problems we had to contend with, this did not compensate for the lack of relaxation and sleep we lost. This took the edge off our planned weekend, which we enjoyed.

"Gave us a good location and a good nights sleep but felt very overpriced. " (108198997)

Good location. mostly clean, room had everything we needed. Got a good nights sleep and nice shower in the morning.

No atmosphere or character, very bland chain hotel. £74 plus £5 for parking for a one night stay felt very overpriced. Stained cushion on bed.

    Close to the station.

Dirty room. Excessively expensive breakfast. Charge for parking. Dangerous angles on bedside tables. Small bath. Sink too deep set. Unpleasant smell in room untill we opened the windows.

"Great location for visiting Bristol. Room comfy and more welcoming than other chain hotels. Sweet and helpful staff. " (108924169)

Friendly greeting to my late-night arrival Quick and painless check-in Super comfortable bed and room that is not quite as "poddish" as some basic hotel rooms Great hours for serving breakfast - perfect for weekend leisure visitors who want bit of a lie in. Loved getting an eyeful of St Mary's cathedral on opening my curtains the first morning. Breakfast was great, speedy and kind service

Good size room with perfect heating system, that can be adjusted by client to personal ambient temperature. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Well situated.

The shower if you can call it that. Had to keep moving around to find the dribble of water creeping out of it.

Facility, food and cleanliness of linen is good. Performance of staffs at reception and restaurant is good. Accidentally a window was not close and a concierge decided to change a room immediately.

Tea/coffee cups at a room and a restaurant were not clean. Food remains.

    Friendly staff conference on site

Toilet didn't work in room had to move towels frayed room literature torn and ripped, hotel meal late, cold and not brought so that we could enjoy eating together. Assumption that as colleagues sharing a twin room we could be re-accommodated in a double room!

Clean hotel, pleasant staff, good breakfast

Had to pay for parking, restaurant expensive compared with local restaurants. We understand that people booking later paid much less for room and breakfast.

Hotel was very pleasant with lots of facilities that we could access. Breakfast was first class with such a variety, and we were very impressed with this.

We were lead to believe that the cost for the overnight stay was £79. and then had to pay £5 on top of this for car parking. We were not impressed by this and felt that the hotel is falsely advertising rooms at £79 per night!

Nice communal areas - eg reception, restaurant. Nice staff

Room quite small for twin, looked like large bed pulled apart, making quite tight to move round room (when 2 6ft plus brothers are sharing a room) Shower sometimes stuck being too hot.

Our hotel room was very clean and nicely laid out and the staff were very friendly and helpful in all aspects.

The beds were very uncomfortable to sleep on but other than that we cannot think of any other bad points.

on trying to book in after the specified time of 2 pm our room was still not ready and we continued to wait for another hour-whilst waiting numerous other customers arrived to be told the same-the attitude of the reception staff was that of boredom of having to explain the situation whilst waiting for our room we decided to have a drink in the bar-the glass my wife received was dirty-having fingerprints all over it and what appeared to be blackcurrant!on taking this back to the bar for a replacement no apology was forthcoming and the bartender had to sort two other glasses prior to offering a replacement-i hasten to add that this secong glass he then had to wash before offering it to me-still no apology!!!!!!!!!!!!! on returning to the hotel in the evening we decided to order some food through room service-having dialed the room service number no reply was received, thinking i had dialed incorrectly i tried again eventually receiveng a reply-the member of staff told me to phone reception!this i did only to be transfered to room service-again after a lengthy wait the same said member of staff answered the phone with a very impatient "what is it?" the following morning we were shown to our table by a young member of staff who didn't stop chewing for the whole duration of our breakfast the lifts were out of service for the whole of our stay-we were on the fourth floor!

"Everything about this hotel was shabby. The approach from car park, the decor, the no record of your booking sir, the brown ends to the leaves in my salad, the failure to want to appreciate this as a problem, scruffy bathroom, single towel for double occupancy room, the pile of dirty sheets I had to climb over to get along the corridor after breakfast, the surley check out girl. It needs a good manager to shake the place up. Very Poor for a 4 star. I would have done better in Travellodge - sorry travellodge you are very good value and strongly managed all staff understanding customer service - just that I thought I was buying more!" (97391215)

"For the price, this was not good value for money. Fifteen minutes to check out, way expensive bar and claustrophobic rooms were a disapointment. Long black hairs in the bed, old flimsy sheets and more hairs in the bathroom, dirty carpets and a bath the size of a basin really didnt add to the experience." (97462974)
