Lovely setting and had a great room in the Swan with it's own patio area.
Toilet did not flush properly and water started pouring through ceiling at 7am - when this was reported the receptionist didn't really care and the maintenance man said it was too early to wake up the people in the room above us!

all staff were very courteous and helpful
Light bulb was out in bathroom but was fixed immediately. Room was dusty. You could write your name on the glass on the night table and the handles of the wardrobe.

Raw sewage was bubbling up from a manhole in the car park, and although the management were informed, after three days it had not been sorted. Drinks are pricey

Area, beside the river Windrush, where the hotel is situated. Food was good.
Parking facilities unacceptable. Had to request tea bags for complimentary tea and coffee. Shower gels not replenished. Self-serving meal area not situated in suitable position, gets congested very easily. Staff not ready and prepared for guests arriving for a function.

Nice setting
Double room very short of space and en-suite bathroom very tiny.Breakfast buffet cold and disappointing and staff were unconcerned about my complaint to this effect although the duty manager removed the charge.Only one very dull lounge.

well maintained historic property in beautiful village.
young staff who were not especially proactive in their guest service. as an example, the restaurant was in a different building from the frint reception. when requesting a dinner reservation for the evening, we were informed that we would need to walk across to the other building in the rain to make dinner res at the restaurant. proactively, the staff could have called or taken our name to reserve.

internet booking confirmed to me but not to hotel. Some anxiety re booking. Noise from other guests before 6.00am - don't know how you can stop them talking on their mobiles outside my window.

the wife said it had been designed by a man fof a man no hairdrier or mirror in the bedroom a hairdrier was available in the reception beautiful hotel and grounds this was reflected in the food & drink prices .

Meal was good and so was the service. Room was pleasant and clean. The staff was friendly. Breakfast was also good.. Service has improved a lot in the restaurant since this time last year
Despite quoting a safe in every room there is no safe in room 127. A fan near the room was running all night and day. Despite ordering a newspaper somweone forgot to transfer it from our form to the newspaper list, hence we did not get one

remote location, quite difficult to find at night, and they may calculate your bill wrongly (5 times of my original payment!!) just check it before you pay, and the large window to the garden can't get locked!

This hotel was overall very good, but unfortunatley the non existant room service and poor breakfast let it down. I would possibly recomend this venue in a work capacity, due to the quaintness of this hotel and the peaceful country atmosphere." (107551834)
Excellent check-in, very friendly with very beautiful surroundings.
No Room Service availible on Saturday night, we only wanted a couple of sandwiches but were told at 8pm that we would have to go down and order it at the bar as they were too busy, this completely defeated the object! we didn't go down and order anything in the end. The english breakfast was also of poor standard (more like a road side cafe)and certainly not worth the extra £7.50, we decided to have breakfast in Burford on the 2nd morning due to this.

A beautiful character room, vaulted ceiling and wooden beams, excellent food in the restaurant.
Cleaning was good in the visible areas of the room, but very poor under / behind the bed and the less accessable parts of the room. Used tissues, cobwebs etc. were found there.

Desk staff very helpful checking in simple - and checking out attentive to my specific needs when it came to pay the bill. I booked five rooms for a family gathering of adult children with their partners, at a birthday celebration weekend.
It was difficult to operate the shower taps in order to adjust the water temperature before entering the shower. The quality of breakfast was very good but I think it is far too expensive at £13 per head - if I had not got the rooms at a special rate because i booked so far ahead - we would not have had breakfast - and driven into Burford (15 mins) for breakfast instead!

Lovely location, very quiet rooms away from the dining area. There was a wedding on when we stayed and you couldn't hear a thing.
Bathroom slighly dodgy, could have done with being regrouted, but lots of hot water and very clean.

excellent surroundings,lovely hotel, good facilities, good staff in the main hotel.
diablical food in the old swan restaurant, first course of soup, ok. other members of family had mozerella salad which was tasty but very badly presented, far toomuch cheese.Bread was white sliced and stale. Returned 1 main course of sword fish which was inedible and got a replacement, the replacement was lamb , which came just as lamb and was ok, the accompaniments had been on the table for half an hour and were cold no attempt was made to replace these. the food was very expensive and very very poor.no-one made any attempt to apologise. it was if we were intruding in the restaurant.the hotel was not busy and clearly running on a skeleton staff. the chef was over heard to say that he had nothing left!!! that was clear with what came out to the table.

The price I was quoted was not what I was asked to pay. On leaving VAT was added to the price which I was not told by the Booking agency. Also -need staff traininng in the restaurant -when pouring coffee most waitresses picked up the cup by the rim where the resident actually drinks!!

When staying for the first night I was placed in a room next to a vent room, with windows that rattled due to the extract, the explanation being that some people seemed to not notice, when attempting to track down staff I was unable to locate anyone, with the front desk being seemingly unmanned after 12pm, with no contact number being left, the explanation that the night porter/security was preparing conference rooms for the following day. However this seemed like a poor excuse, and poor planning, especially with no contact number being left. The food was poor, with the quality of the produce seemingly good, and locally sourced, the cooking left a lot to be desired, and the quality of staff varied from good and eager to help, to seemingly annoyed by your presence.

Room very small, only 1 towel in bathroom, hotel split over two buildings which wasn't a problem until whilst at dinner we had to traipse back to the other building (in the rain) to use the toilets, as the toilet was out of order.

This hotel is overrun with drunk people attending business conferences and the staff couldn't understand I was a solo business traveller. Consequently, the receptionist wouldnt give me a receipt, despite a 10 minute argument she refused , so now I can't claim my expenses. I ended up having to leave to meet an appointment as I couldn't make any of them understand I simply wanted a receipt for my accomodation. Similar experience at breakfast (which is a walk to another building in the rain)" (97495410)
Interesting building, good decor
Room was quite small and seemed a bit of a fire trap. Fire door padlocked. Air conditioning was constantly switched on a rattled all night so I didn't sleep at all! Left totally wrecked!

Beautiful hotel complex in wonderful surroundings, comfortable beds and clean rooms. Lovely breakfast.
For what we paid the room was a little small and the furniture was quite utility in style. There was no socket near the kettle and the bathroom was fairly small and snug.

The bed was VERY comfortable. It would appear that most beds in UK hotels are VERY soft, like a big marshmellow, this one was not, it was wonderfully firm and the linen was lovely and crisp!Had a lovely stay!
