NH Doelen, Amsterdam - Reviews & Ratings"The fact that the Doelen is the oldest hotel in Amsterdam seems reason enough to me that the owners would want to see that it was a bit cleaner in it's presentation. ( the lobby) Though it is small, a bit more lighting would open it up, and make it appear cleaner/brighter. The upper floors were planned very well for my taste, and therfore pleasing to the eye giving way to the first feeling of satisfaction with my accomodations. In addition, the restaurant could be opened earlier as waiting until ten oclock was a bit of an inconvience. My overall rating however is very high as again, outside of the chairs maby needing to be re-upolstered or replaced, my room was very clean, and comfortable, and the staff were very polite, helpful, and friendly." The location was very good, and I loved the balcony. Also, the room itself outside of maby needing a couple of new or re-upolstered chairs was very clean.
I thought it was odd that I should be charged to watch the television when all I wanted was local news. Other than that, I was very pleased with my accomodations.
