Clean and good facilties and proximity to The Grove Golf course excellent for event - beautiful grounds
With DeVerre chain the food available on site is always average / nice never great or brilliant - having stayed at De Verre Berkshire near The Berkshire Golf course this was a huge improvement and a pleasant surprise. Never fails to amaze me that they cannot bring all their chains n line to the Carrick up in Scotland - Cameron House which is marvellous ....

Very small room for a double. Bed small and pushed against the wall. Room only equipped for one person i.e. towels/pillows shanpoo, coffee etc. No pillows in one room and no extra pillows available when requested. Attitude of reception staff unhelpful. Rooms in the new block are really single rooms and should not be sold as doubles.

The unlimited Wi-fi, it is the reason I chose the hotel as I was on business. The grounds are also really nice.
The room could have been cleaner, quite dusty in places and just looked a bit tired, this was a disappointment as on a previous visit another room was very satisfactory. Walls were also very thin, couldn't quite decide whether it was the gentleman in the room next door or above me I could hear going to the toilet.

The upgrading to the Shendish Manor Hotel was excellent.
The online booking system was at fault for the overbooking but as we were upgraded this did not cause us too much inconvenience.

De Vere Venues Hunton Park, Kings Langley - Reviews & Ratings"The general atmosphere and quality of the hotel is very good, a pleasant place to be." (107838987)
The door in the corridor next to my room door was being used late into the night by guests. The door had a closer which was poorly adjusted so that on every close there was a long creaking sound followed by a double bang as it closed. The hotplate of the iron in the room needed cleaning to remove previous guests accidental melted material.

Good reception,// nice room - clean, quiet, en-suite etc., // decent bar facility, // good breakfast arrangement, // efficient check-out procedure.
Toilets some way distant from bar. (Not major criticism!)

De Vere Venues Hunton Park, Kings Langley - Reviews & Ratings"Disappointing. Both my partner and myself were looking forward to usng the pool and were disappointed that we were not told and only discovered this fact because there was a sign on the wall on the way to the room. I would possibly stay at this hotel again but not for the full price and probably not in the summer months. " (108048300)
The staff were really nice and the room was clean and very nice. Breakfast was very good.
I was not made aware that the pool was closed when booking nor when arrived at reception and that was one of the reasons it was booked. Also the rooms do not have air conditioning and are very hot at night for the price air conditioning should be standard in a room. A fan really is not an alternative.

De Vere Venues Hunton Park, Kings Langley - Reviews & Ratings"Extremely disappoined with catering facilities. When table booked (for my wife and I and 3 non-residents)in advance of our stay we were advised that restaurant was being refurbished and we would be in conservatory. On the night of our stay, the conservatory was closed and we were put in a room which resembled a conference room as against a restaurant. Very limited menu but food was fine. However, whilst we were given butter we had to ask for rolls, had to ask for napkins, had to open wine ourselves and no ice bucket supplied-had to use another guests ice bucket when they had finished. No table staff at breakfast to clear tables-guests were doing this themeselves. Overall very poor value for bill of £260 plus £40 spent in cash at bar." (97040068)
The location
The general lack of cleanliness of the bar area.A wedding function quite clearly got preferential treatment to normal guests-had to find a barman to serve us at 6.00pm as everyone on wedding duty. Rooms too small-we asked to change rooms as double bed in original room was up against a wall and to be fair the receptionist dealt with this immediately.

The location and the ambience of the public areas.
A little disappointed that the room altho adequate didn't have a feeling of true 'luxury'. Service in the restaurant was rather lacking (Sunday evening) as I had to wait about 15 mins before anyone appeared. Food was rather tasteless & bland.

ease of location and quietness of hotel
size of rooms if allocated into the wing I much prefer rooms within the main building, Especially room 53!!. They have more space and comfort than in the hostel type wing

De Vere Venues Hunton Park, Kings Langley - Reviews & Ratings"Found all the staff v professional but at the same time friendly. I would feel comfortable staying when on business trips alone. The bar was v well laid out, not intrusive on the rooms comfortable for groups and indivual travellers" (97039236)
Good size, with all basic requirements.
Layout of the dining room, I dined with collegues but there were a number of solo diners, the room layout and quiteness made it seem as though we were the dinning entertainment with all able to listen in on our our conversation.

The staff was very helpful. The checking in and checking out were easily achieved. Breakfast was good, as well. The hotel has a wonderful garden.
The room was far too small for a family with a small baby. It was also too hot day and night. Also the breakfast was served only between 7.00 to 9.00. In my opinion if you travel for leasure you definitely need more flexible schedule for breakfast.

De Vere Venues Hunton Park, Kings Langley - Reviews & Ratings"My stay was fine. The hotel is really nice. Shame the pool isn't open later. The bed was really comfortable and the staff efficient apart from the fact tht I didn't get my alarm call when I asked for it. I'd stay there again." (97304680)
The room was clean and had good facilities. The bed was the most comfortable I've stayed in at any hotel and it was quiet.
The TV remote control didn't work which seems like a small thing but when you've worked hard all day and just want to relax infront of the TV it's annoying to have to keep getting out of bed. I didn't get my alarm call. Luckily I woke up but I would worry next time about asking for one. The room was quite small for a double.

Good clean and modern furnishings, with sensible size work desk
The bathroom was a little bit tired, some cracked tiles and discolouration to grouting. The dinner menu was a bit limited but the food was ok.

De Vere Venues Hunton Park, Kings Langley - Reviews & Ratings"Cleanliness of the hotel and evening meal was very good although expensive as was the bar. On the negative side the room was small and there was no TV remote control which rendered the TV inoperable. The hotel had apparently been over booked and there was the possibility that one of our group would have to use another hotel some 20 drive minutes away." (97879252)
Particularly liked the cleanliness of the hotel
Room was small and TV didn't work and it appeared that the hotel had been over booked

the layout / grounds and very quiet and clean
a very picky and silly thing maybe - but the chairs at breakfast didnt do the place justice - just conference chairs - didnt seem to do the rest of the place justice re ambience and setting
