Cromwells Hotel, Shrewsbury - Reviews & Ratings"good ,food available in the resaurant was excellant." (107601339)
pub and food services very good and very welcome, better info on closness and direction to hotel would be useful.
we tried to ring from swansea to say we had been delayed and wouldnt be arriving until 2230hrs.we had great difficulty in communicating this message since there was no clear telephone number for the hotel and when we did connect we were onto an indan call centre ;it took two attempts to get sme understanding of our problem and also to understand the person at the other end.

Cromwells Hotel, Shrewsbury - Reviews & Ratings"The room was a little on the small size but adequate and the breakfast was top notch.OK for one night only." (107905774)
Very good Full English breakfast served with a choice of how you would like your eggs cooked.
If you are staying in a front room at the weekend dont expect to get much sleep, there is no double glazing and the noise from drunks making there way home and the traffic untill the early hours makes it very difficult to nod off.

Clean room, friendly staff, great breakfast. Hotel and Room full of character, cosy and warm despite outside -8C.
Road noise could be reduced with better glazing. No adjacent car park.

Staff were very friendly and welcoming, hotel was full of character, suiting the age and size of the building. Room was cozy and warm on a cold weekend. An excellent English breakfast.

The helpful, friendly and efficient staff were a credit to the hotel, and the evening meal was superb, as was the breakfast. The room was spacious and the shower good.
The beds could do with their legs being put into carpet protectors to prevent them rolling down the sloping floor!!

Cromwells Hotel, Shrewsbury - Reviews & Ratings"Nice little charming Hotel with plenty of features of the original building still visible. friendly staff & nice breaksfast. Great location for Shrewsbury town centre. Due to having original sash winodws, you did get a lot of noise from the road, but this can't be helped. Although it doesn't have a car park, there is a cheap pay & display car park not far away." (97223036)
nice cosy room with exposed beams, good breakfast, friendly staff.
noise from road (original sash windows), no parking.

Cromwells Hotel, Shrewsbury - Reviews & Ratings"A small pleasant hotel right in the centre of the town. The building appears to be very old judging by the slope in our bedroom floor! It was quite a climb back up to the bed from the shower room! The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good. We really enjoyed our stay." (97674946)
Central location Friendly staff
Room a little small

Cromwells Hotel, Shrewsbury - Reviews & Ratings"Hotel very central and excellent location for the whole of Shrewsbury. Cromwell is a very popular wine bar/restaurant and booking would be advisable if you want to eat in. Food is excellent and staff are very friendly and helpful and aim to make sure your stay is the best possible. Highly recommended and will definiately return." (97020490)
The staff were very friendly, food was excellent and whilst the room was small was very clean
Room 3 where we stayed was above the self-shutting door for accommodation. Vibrations were felt through the room/bed. Unfortunately whilst website stated breakfast in bed was offered this was not an option this weekend!

Our particular room (No2)was clean + comfortable, the room served its purpose for our 2 night stay, although the road out side was noisy at night, we were not troubled by this. The staff were first class.
The only real drawback to the Hotel was its location,on the busy main street, with no dedicated parking, this provided the problem of parking close to the hotel, which could restrict Disabled/Elderly patrons.

The history of the premises as a 15 century coaching inn. Full of atmosphere and with period features. Great staff, very friendly and welcoming.
A bit noisy at night (traffic and revellers!!) but that would not stop me from staying again.

Closeness to Town Centre. Friendly People. Excellant breakfast.
A bit noisey due to passing traffic also no fault of the hotel but a broken manhole directly outside was hit by every passing vehicle.

The breakfast was very good, the staff were pleasent and the bar/pub was good.
The noise of the music from the pub up till 12 pm, the constant noise of the kitchen extractor fan (even thru the night), the noise of the washing machine spin cycle at 1:30 in the morning (made the floor vibrate).

Cromwells Hotel, Shrewsbury - Reviews & Ratings"Staff pleasant enough but not particularly informative on arrival, had to ask about breakfast arrangements etc. Inn was supposed to stop serving at 11pm but lots of noise from bar and patio until nearly 2 am one night. Our twin room, No. 1, was quite shabby and overlooked the patio at the back so was quite noisy. No drawer space at all and one tiny wardrobe between 2 people. Other rooms we saw in passing looked much nicer. Breakfast was very average despite being mentioned in advert as something to look forward to. Literally a few packets of cereals and a basic fry up with bog standard 'pasty'sausages. Very disappointing. Couldn't believe there was no fruit. We felt this hotel was extremely overpriced for what it was." (3304852805)
Attractive old Inn. Quirky rooms.
General air of shabbiness, lacks 'finishing touches'

Cromwells Hotel, Shrewsbury - Reviews & Ratings"We understand that there is a parking problem in England but the directions and ease of finding the recommended lot was extremely complicated. The room did have a certain amont of charm but was overshdowed by the amount of stuff in the hallway. The staff seemed to be very stressed and busy." (3304834096)
We enjoyed Shrewsberry
The halls were dirty and full of laundry?, the parking was a nightmare as we had to walk several blocks to even park and it was not easily accessible.

Cromwells Hotel, Shrewsbury - Reviews & Ratings"This old Inn was generally very inviting and friendly but on my one night stay the central heating had failed so was kept awake by the noisy fan heater provided. The toilet did not flush, the extractor did not work, did not try the shower as the bathroom had no heating!!!" (2967370)
Very relaxing comfortable room.
Heating and maintinence. The central heating had failed on a cold November night and any a noisy fan heater provided. Toilet did not flush properly and bathroom extractor did not work (room No 1).

The general ambience of the hotel, the courtesy of the staff, the room decor and the convenience of the location.
The mattress was AWFUL! I could feel every spring and can only assume it was as old as Methuselah.

"enjoyed it." (108313418)
Friendly helpful staff. good food, nice well equipped but small room.
Room was small and at back of hotel near kitchen and ventilation system so room was hot and there was a lot of noise from outside. Maybe they should have told us this when we booked but overall it was acceptable.
