Take a trip to the Divi-Blasii, a church where Bach once worked, or the St. Marien, the second-tallest church in Thuringen. There are also countless museums and towers to see.

Mirage Hotel
Very quiet, comfortable and in a lovely traditional German town. Despite my poor German the staff I came across always tried their best to help and were very kind. Very good buffet breakfast, room was spotlessly clean and from the breakfast room a lovely view of the Church across the road. Perfect place as a base for a relaxing trip around the Harz Mountains region. Would definitely recommend and stay there myself again. Great value also.
