    "Ok for overnight stay, " (108722155)

    Staff very freindly and helpful, Spacious room,Very, clean hotel, Breakfast very nice.

    Had to wait 10-15 mins rooms not ready. Shower, bath & sink was Luke warm water at best, No sky tv channels available, No balcony only one bedside table due to twin beds being converted to double.

    lady who booked us in was very helpful and friendly throughout our stay, when we saw her

    Bathroom could have been cleaner and updated

    peaceful helpfull staff good food

    hot water for shower went off on second morning.fixed by evening. music in bar too loud,this is a problem in quite a lot of hotels,pubs and shops,it puts people off.

    "this was a hotel chosen out of necessity for the GNR weekend but i certainly would not return" (107567763)

    Staff friendly

    towels not changed, coffee and milk not replenished without asking, shampoo?shower gel and toilets not replenished without asking. Not overly clean. Chef did not come to work on Saturday resulting in poor breakfast so we did not eat breakfast other days

    The bathroom clearly hadn't been cleaned for some time. There was hair all over the bath, the floor, the sink, somebody had been poorly in the toilet, the bath side was coming away, there were signs of black mould all around the bath and the tiles. The room itself was very smelly, the window had such bad condensation that just closing the curtains caused my clothes to get wet, the pillows were incredibly hard and there was a monotonous noise through the entire night.

    "Once the renovations are complete this is a hotel I will use again" (108499500)

    the area was suffering extreme weather conditions & the hotel had taken a lightning strike so there was no electricity. However the staff were as helpful as it was possible for them to be and kept us regularly informed of progress toward restoration of services. The breakfast was very good & well presented. A reduction in our booking costs was offered before it was even requested.

    The hotel is in serious need of a re-furbishment & we were advised that one is imminent. The bathrooms need a complete makeover and the provision of in room facilities - toiletries, tissues, TV that shows more than 1 station, etc need reviewing.

    Good breakfast.

    TV didn't work. Entry after hours was difficult. Had to call and wake someone to unlock the main door. Why doesn't any hotel in UK provide wash cloths?

    Friendly staff. Good location for access to main roads and with countryside views (rooms at front of hotel only). Good restaurant.

    "Before we arrived we rang to say we needed to check in late, the person who answered did not seem to understand what I was saying and put the phone down on me this raised concerns. Without totally criticising every aspect of the place I will just say it needs a total cleanup , lick of paint and staff retraining, luckily we only needed a bed for the night so were not too concerned about the hotel itself. Breakfast was poorly presented and tasted worse. I wouldn't rush back!" (107415575)

    Has a Thai Restaurant attached.

    The hotel itself seemed very tired, staff were scruffy and looked as if they wanted to be somewhere else.

    Extremely helpful and friendly staff in this family run hotel. Nothing was too much trouble. Superb Thai bar meal, very reasonable prices for food and drink.

    "all things considered the hotel served our needs, we were out of season and the hotel was very quiet but the food and service was excellant" (107619882)

    the hotel was in exactly the right place for our business trip, the restaurant was very good

    slight damp problem in the bathroom, the bathroom taps were hard to turn off. some of the light bulbs in the bedroom needed replacing

    The meal on the friday could not be faulted it was excellent. however the lack of staff around on reception and in the bar area left a lot to be desired. The room we were given at the onset was apparently shut for maintenance and the second room we were given was not much better. The shower was filthy, there were cracks all over in the bathroom, grime surrounding the handbasin lights not working through blown bulbs?, tv control missing the back which when it fell on the floor the batteries shot over the floor, chipped cups for tea and coffee, noise from the fire exit swing door every time someone entered the floor or exited. The beds had been pushed together and the headboard did not match up to the bed. Overall very disappointing stay and certainly not worth the £75 pounds a night for the deluxe room at all. We have never had to pay for the room before on arrival either, which left us having to stay the two nights and not seek better accomadation. This needs reviewing as you do not pay for something you have not yet recieved and certainly not shoddy service either. We will not be recommending this hotel to anyone.
