  Good Value

  After sending details of credit card, a note came up saying Downloading the Verify by Visa page, but the Verification page would not download properly. After I eventually went through the Visa Verification process, it would not go back to the Hotel page, so I could not tell whether the booking had been accepted or not.

  "The level of hotel refurbishment to the reception, bars and dining areas have yet to be seen throughout the rest of the hotel." (107715263)

  Reception and dining room staff were very neat,tidy and professional.

  Both sink taps in the bathroom leaked and also, because of the design of the actual tap, were very difficult to turn off. Lack of net curtains meant that guests in adjoining rooms could look directly into the room.

  Very comfortable beds.

  Couldn't arrive @ hotel until 11 pm & was disappointed that we could not have anything to eat. No hairdryer in the room (receptionist had one sent up promptly).

  Location, the hotel was very close to the train station and main street. The size of the rooms was a good point, although there was obvious damage to the decor and it looked like it needed a refurbishment.

  Cleanliness of the hotel. Awoke on Monday morning and in the corridoors and lift there were slices of pizza and kebab meat strewn all over. Also, the room was not ready for the 2pm check-in time, the maid was changing the bedding, towels, etc as I was unpacking my stuff.

  "Served it's purpose, we did not eat at the hotel as the restaurant lacked atmosphere and had continous passing traffic to and from the bedroom area" (107289608)

  Hotel was central to Aberdeen city centre, that's why we selected it in particular.

  Checked in, room was already allocated to another party. Sorted after a second visit to reception. Access to the bedrooms was via the Restaurant area, not very satisfactory for people dinning when wheelie cases are rolling by them.

  Room was consistently clean. All staff were helpful and courteous.

  Food was priced high. Price of stay altogether was too high.

  "Wouldn't stay there again. Unclear if this hotel is at the foot of an improvement cycle (smart lobby) or as good as it gets. We were surprised there was no customer review form available in the hotel for comments." (108068329)

  Staff friendly and helpful although they were not fluent in English. Food, especially breakfast was good. Flat screen TVs in bedrooms. Room & bathroom clean.

  Windows throughout the hotel were filthy (not just rain spattered, but filthy). Decoration of the hotel apart from the lobby was old and tatty; holes in plaster, torn wall paper etc. The fitting for the hot tap in our bathroom was missing.

  Location, free wireless internet, room size and furnishings.

  Availability of things like tea/coffee/light refreshments in the lounge area. Asked for a pot of tea and was told restaurant was closed so I needed to make it in my room.

  "OVERALL, EXCELLENT. RESTAURANT FOOD AND SERVICE WERE VERY GOOD INDEED.EVENING MEAL WAS HOT, TASTY AND ENJOYABLE,LET DOWN ONLY BY THE VEGETABLES WHICH WERE SERIOUSLY UNDERCOOKED. I WAS SURPRISED THAT YOU DID NOT HAVE HAGGIS ON THE MENU EITHER FOR BREAKFAST OR FOR DINNER. IT WAS GOOD TO HAVE A REALLY HOT BREAKFAST SERVED INSTEAD OF HAVING THE LUKEWARM STEWED SELF-SERVICE FOOD WHICH ONE FINDS IN MOST HOTELS. DARK GREEN DECOR VERY DEPRESSING.   SPACIOUS AND CLEAN BEDROOM, EXCELLENT NEW BATHROOM, COMFORTABLE BED.

  "Thank goodness my company picked up the bill. Considering the overall state of repair the hotel is seriously overpriced - accommodation £120 and breakfast (continental)£6. The hotel is in serious need of refurbishment. Stair carpets badly worn, wallpaper starting to peel. The reception area is of a much higher standard of appearance than the rest of the hotel. Was this an attempt to entice guests in? Although I requested parking none was available. I would not hurry back." (97179226)

  The room was of a good size

  Although the room was clean the underside of the toilet seat was rotted and should have been replaced some time ago. The view from my room was seriously limited.

  The staff were really helpfull and went out there way for us... With regards to getting to our event on time, ordering and chasing up taxi's. and hotel staff were really friendly... would defo stay here again :)

  The biggest plus: The hotel was situated very central, perfect for weekend shoppers. The bathroom was excellent although the shower was fastened high up. at the wall and impossible to take in your hand.

  "I would definately stay again; the close proximity to the station is superb.Whilst parts of the hotel (corridors /main porch)are ready for decorating my room and the newly decorated areas of the hotel are very smart and pleasing." (97247692)

  Freshly decorated room with an exceedingly comfortable bed and pillows.Super smart bathroom ( and I am very fussy)with great bath and shower.

  No hairdryer.Had to keep curtains closed as there was a direct view into other rooms less than 20 yards away ( nets would be good).No information in the room about prices of items in the mini bar ( were they free ?)No information at all in the room about times /cost of breakfast.( was there a restaurant?)

  "This hotel is very local for the train station/ bus station and is very close to Union Street. My overall opinion of this hotel is that it is very large and could be very nice. If the reception is anything to go by the rest of the hotel will look lovely once all the decor has been refurbished. My parent had breakfast at the restaurant the next morning and were delighted by it... The hotel also took me 3 attempts to book, and ended up booking online as the staff were not very helpful the 1st time in phoning..." (97818674)

  The bathroom had been refurbished, this was a nice fresh bathroom. The rooms were also large in size, although we had booked a double room, our room had a large 6'0 bed and also single bed and sofa.

  The decor in the hotel is a bit dated, some parts of the hotel are badly needing decorated, or at least attention, some of the stair steps had tears and were being held together with tape!

  Good reputation. Very good location in central Aberdeen and easy walking distance to Rail Station (which was a priority for me) Bathroom was excellent, room reasonably spacious, comfortable.

  Long ........ walk to my room from reception - almost need a map. Noise from neighbouring shower!

  1. The room has a fridge, with orange drinks, water, tea and sweets available. 2. The proximity to the train station.

  1. Only 3 channels were available for viewing 2. Had to climb to the 4th Floor to enter my room. Not sure if lift was working. 3. Some parts of the building look old. it appears no thorough maintenance is being carried out.

  Room was nicely furnished, with modern fittings, and clean. Good breakfast.

  Lift didn't respond to the 5th (top) floor button.
