  went out for the evening when we got back had trouble getting in as someone broke there key in the lock and no one else could get in and the manager had no other way of getting in and we had to wake another guest to let us in.

  The accommodation,food and service made the whole experience worth while using this hotel as a staging point at every opportunity.

  The carpets were showing signs of wear but were clean and pleasant.

  superb choice and quality of breakfast.

  I dislike having to close bedroom curtains at night, or not being able to open a window properly. If I have to get up in the night I do not want to have to put on the room light and wake my husband; for all these reasons it would have appreciated a muslin or similar on the lower half of the windows for a liittle privacy. We had a lot of trouble finding the Inn using a normal road atlas. Clearer directions with distances and road numbers would be very helpful.

  "It was a pleasure to stay in this hotel - look forward to using it as a base in the midlands. The only improvements could be opaque curtains (see above point) & possibly a power shower!" (107400423)

  Friendly staff, good sized rooms - it was a treat to find an ironing board & iron in the wardrobe as well as a fan which was a godsend as I stayed during the featwave, along with a "real" hairdryer.

  Net curtains in ground floor rooms facing car-park would have allowed me to open the main curtains & have daylight in the room without being overlooked. Mobile network signal was almost non-existent - but that's the area not the hotels @ fault.

  Clean, very good breakfast

  Hotel accommodation area a little jaded - looks as though updating is in progress. We had a ground floor room overlooking the car park with no net curtains, so passers by were able to see us. Their rock 'n' roll weekend was not too intrusive, although when everybody went to the car park afterwards there was a lot of noise (understandably after a good night had by all!)

  Really excellent breakfast! Properly fresh, prepared fruit, and beautifully cooked English breakfast. Also, staff very friendly and helpful - and appreciated the quality of the bath towels as well.

  Restaurant waited an eternal time for food to be served on Saturday evening depite room being only half full. Drinks I felt were rather dear also

  The pot of tea for breakfast was a big improvement. Lovely bed. However I was woken by the banging of the self closing doors of the bedrooms both evening and in the morning. At first I thought it were the people but when I tried our door it banged to as well! Please we love staying there but it is urgent that you fix the doors.

  "The hotel was exellent in my & my partners opinion but only thing that let it down was the cleanliness in rooms poor bathroom facilitys. The food in my opinion was exellent and for that reason alone we will come back. The receptionist in our opinion did not like doing her job and did not smile once .The waiting staff in the morning must of been on the lash the night before as everything was too much of an effort for her. But overall the food & hotel itself were exellent just need to improve bathrooms and staff morale." (97706146)

  Bed was very comfortable not too soft. The bedroom was painted and looked good.Television was a modern flat screen.An Iron & board were provided in the room also.

  Bathroom was very poor. Around the bath seals was black through mold. Also some of the tiles were lifting and they were black with mold also. In the plug holes was hairs from previous guests which showed the bathroom was not cleaned out very well.Also the bedside light must have dodgy wiring as it kept flikering

  "This hotel is very good value for money. The facilities were as I expected them from the hotel's website. All the staff encountered were welcoming, especially in the restaurant areas. The food presentation and quality was very good, dinner was better than lunch, the English breakfast is to die for." (99660649)

  The room was well presented, comfortable and very clean. The facilities were as described on the hotel website. Medium priced restaurant with a good variety of food available.

  One minor point, one of the windows would not open and initially the room was quite warm. It took a while to reach a more comfortable temperature. The hotel is situated in a rural area so it would be a bit of a drive if an alternative eating place was desired.

  "Size of room. We were charged more by using your site than if we had booked direct - for the same price we could have had a superior room. Would like to have known that the shower was ineffective!Booked alarm call which never happened. Complained at reception but it was suggested perhaps we had not booked it, second comment - I will get handyman to check your phone. Offered chance of booking Sunday paper and when we ticked registration form were told it might not arrive!" (99297904)

  Easy to find. Ground floor position.

  Small room compared with others we have stayed at. Shower hardly worked at all - no power, luke warm. TV reception poor, kept losing colour, very poor cheap toilet paper, wardrobe too close to bedside cabinet which restricted the access. No drink mats on white bedside cabinets. Only one chair.

  "Although the room was small, it was immaculately decorated and had everything we needed for a comfortable night. The hotel itself was attractive with a very old-world atmosphere. We didn't have an evening meal but the breakfast was excellent. We thought it was extremely good value for money as the breakfast was included in the price. We would certainly recommend the hotel and hopefully will return ourselves, particularly if we are visiting the NEC." (3305463537)

  "This hotel was brilliant as we were allowed to take our little dog with us which we paid extra for. It is in a lovely part of the country. The room was lovely, but we would have preferred if it had been in a quieter part of the hotel due to a wedding was booked in. I would have requested a room away from the evening noise if I'd have known beforehand. The breakfast was excellent, it was buffet style, so if you were overly hungry you could go back and get extra. We liked this hotel so much we are going back later in the year to one of their entertainment weekends which sounds excellent value for money." (3304333979)

  The hotel is in a lovely setting and the room was very nicely decorated

  The room we were in was not good if there is a wedding party departing the hotel as the exit was very close to our room, therefore it was very noisy.

  "The hotel was not particularly busy on the night I was there and I only had a bar meal in the evening, which was reasonable and the staff were courteous. The English breakfast was good and the staff helpful. I wanted a reasonably priced, clean, hotel room with en suite facilities for one night, and that was what I got. It was at a quiet time for the hotel, so I was given a double room and it was comfortable. There was good parking. This was a hotel in a country location and was convenient for the journey I was making." (3305019382)

  I was fortunate in having a double room for single occupancy. The en suite room was clean, had coffee/tea facilities and TV. As an overnight stay it was comfortable and, at that, time quiet. The clean towels set out for occupants had a chocolate resting on them - a nice gesture.

  Nothing to dislike. For 2 people, the room might have been on the small side but there was reasonable cupboard space for a short stay.

  "Overall our experience was very good. The menu could have done with being a little simpler for us simple folk. The food was very good, however they could do with a different menu for the Bar from the restauant, with some good old english bar food on it. The room was clean and comfortable enough, other than our stay be during one of the hottest days in the UK this year." (3304941829)

  Unfortunately nothing stands out to shout about. But the water wheel in the bar was pretty novel.

  As it was very hot while we were staying at the Hotel the bed could have done with a top sheet, as it was to hot to use the quilt. Noise from guests leaving the wedding reception in the early hours of the morning was also disturbing.

  "This is a lovely hotel which has been tastefully refurbished and the colour schemes were very rich. It would be very good for the hotel to invest in some more themed rooms as guests always feel more special when they've stayed in a nice room where special care has been applied to soft furnishing and colour schemes. We were lucky to have stayed in 'The Retreat' but did have a look at another room which was nice but without the luxury. We would stay at this hotel again if we were in the area." (3304761339)

  Accommodation was of a good standard, clean and tidy with good parking facilities. Staff were very friendly and helpful at all times, they couldn't do enough for us, the manager even lent us his own atlas for a day out, thank you! The room was the one you advertise on the web site - 'The Retreat' which is a great description for such a lovely room.

  The smoking in the bar area but the restaurant was fine.
