  "Very overpriced!! General idea of it is brilliant, but reality is an expensive stay in a basic hotel whose only real luxury is the air bath for 2, which i would gladly exchange for a nice breakfast!!!! " (108658513)

  Spa bath for two is best thing about whole hotel!

  Room we were in was very pricey considering curtain pole was hanging off and wallpaper grubby and paint chipped quite badly in places!! Also walnuts and pumpkin seeds for breakfast is not my idea of nice or continental !!!

  Good value for money booking last minute and saving on the usual cost of the hotel. Very clean hotel (minus the bedthrow!!)

  You have to order a full english breakfast the night before if you want one, you can't just ask for one on the day, but we were not informed of this until it came to the morning when we were refused a breakfast as one hadn't been pre-ordered! Although the bedding itself was clean, the throw over the top of the duvet was not very clean and had lots of stray pubic hairs which is pretty disgusting.

  unusual style

  very small bathroom, very low cielings, no mini bar or fridge, no phone,tiny unusable wardrobe.

  "Wewere sent on a short break by our sons and thier wifes, we did not know what we were in for. but we enjoyed every minute of our stay and can not wait to return. thankyou to my family." (3304916504)

  relaxed frindly, even though we were the oldest couple in the hotel at the time.

  "Overall, a good place. The pool was a bonus in the hot weather, and the location was wonderful." (3305010611)

  The size of the room and the view.

  We didn't feel it was cleaned properly after our first night which was a shame.

  Location and surronding gardens, from the out side the Hotle was very picturess

  I thought for what you got it was very over priced.The room was nice and clean but nothing that i thought it would be.

  the hot tub was excellent

  some of the finish of the decorating was not brilliant, gave the room a dodgy feel and the communal areas of the hotel were a bit dark and dowdy

  "the accomodation overall was excellently presented, the staff were courteous at all times, we had a magical stay and even recommended it almost immediatley to others, no one would be dissapointed in a stay at this hotel!! A+++" (3304923210)

  a fantastic array of suites with superb themes, stayed in the tarzan and Jane suite, which at first made us laugh, but the facilities really made it feel good.

  "The room gave a very good atmosphere with lots of attention to detail. Comfortable clean and garden views were excellent. Breakfast room was bright airy and welcoming even though it was pouring with rain." (1983044)

  Rooms with a difference and the use of a superb spa bath. We will have Victorian room next time!

  "Hotel v unique and good value for money compared to other Lake District Hotels. The rooms were smaller than expected from photos but facilities were top notch and would stay there again. Breakfast was great and staff friendly. It is not really within walking distance to town centre but taxi only £2.50. Only downside was early check out of 10.30am" (1962402)

  "There was no power at the lodge for our first night so couldnt use 95% of the facilities that use of, is included in the price. This obviously included heating and lighting, spa bath, DVD television and the leisure facilities. We also did not recieve a breakfast on the sunday mrning which was also pre paid for, and were not offered alternative arrangements elsewhere. We have not as yet been contacted regarding any reimbursement for this severe inconveniance. We understand the circumstances under which there was no power is no fault of the management, however do feel that a refund to some degree for hte weekend is due, as the majority of the services we paid for on the first day, were not made available. In spite of that, the staff did do their best to make it as comfortable as possible, but no heating and lighting for 12 hours wasnt too pleasant in a cold room." (1667625)

  "Overal experiance was good. We both enjoyed the spa and sauna facilites, although i personally found the bed uncomfortable. The nosie of local traffic could also be heard quiet loudly at night from the cabin. Photos on your web site of the room would have been very helpfull." (1680263)

  "My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Aphrodities. A welcome break with time to relax in stunning surroundings. The staff were pleasant and very helpful and everywhere was decorated to a high standard. We will definitely be staying again soon. One small point, it maybe an idea to display more of the themed rooms on your web site." (1699004)

  "There was no telephone number on the internet booking provided before booking in case one had any queries (eg was there a resturant, was the booking for HB or FB). Unclear on booking in - apparently before 5pm one could bookin directly at the Aphrodite rather than 21 The Lakes, although without any prior directions to the Aphtodite, this would not have been possible even if we had known. Oman room quite cosy, but overall the rooms seem rather naff (simple Italian or ?Georgian rooms woild be a lot smarter, easier to do well and less tacky)" (1585207)

  "We had a very pleasant and enjoyable stay. The room was excellent and the facilities very good. Although the weather was disappointing, it did not spoil our stay. The only thing that I can think of that would have made our stay better was if there was the opportunity to light the open fire that was in the room." (1474784)

  "I didn't know the outdoor pool was heated so didn't take my swimming costume! The website needs to state which suite is available when wanting to book on a late basis. Don't tell too many people how good it is otherwise they will all want to go!" (1383456)
