Good breakfast and plenty of it.
No hot water in room, included sink and shower. Had to fill up basin with water boiled in a kettle. No vanity light or shaver point in bathroom. TV had no ariel connection and batteries in remote were eroded and therefore didn't work.

Convenient for the centre of Warrington. Nothing else.
The hotel is in very poor repair with peeling paintwork etc. The quality of the breakfast was very poor.

I didn't get up early enough for breakfast so can't comment on that. The room was clean as was the bathroom but really the overall standard was pretty poor. Really the whole building needs a complete refurbishment. Fine for me on my own but if I was with my partner I would have booked elsewhere. " (107604527)
Cheapest central hotel I could find in Warrington
It's just a really tired hotel. The pub downstairs needs a really deep clean to get rid of the small of stale beer (which is no longer covered by cigarette smoke!). Not a place to stay if you are going to be spending any time in your room.

There was a musty smell throughout the hotel and the room felt damp. Breakfast was ok but no one there to welcome you and direct you to a table. The kitchen door was open to view from the reataurant and i could quite clearly see the cook without a apron / uniform on preparing food.

Hotel was in a great location. directly opposite Bam Quay Station so was therefore really easy to locate. Breakfast was adequate.
Hotel needs a complete makeover as I had the feeling that it hadn't been renovated since Victorian times. The rooms were dirty, wallpaper was peeling off the wall in various locations, including the restaurant ceiling where we were eating breakfast! Service was also appalling. The lady who checked us in gave us the impression that she didn't want to be there, or us to be there for that matter. Despite the fact that I booked a double room online I was told on arrival that only a twin was available and when I complained about the situation we were given another room which was again a twin but with 2 small double beds in! I find it hard to believe that there were no double rooms available in such a large hotel where, as far as I could tell, only had 2 other rooms occupied!

Hotel bar, hotel staff, electronic key to get in and out later on.
TV didnt work at all, Everytime you wanted to get to the ladies toilet you would have to ask the bar lady to open the door.

Handy for BR station, next to Police station so safe, reasonable price.
Very drab and grim, I realsise this is 'Up North' but the place had neglect written all over it, it felt dingy and uncared for. A good lick of paint and the place would be bright and airy.

I did like that it was across the street from the Warrington Bank Quay station and not was from Warrington Central, which was important for me for it has allowed me to reach out to cities of Liverpool and Manchester rather easily
Price was sort of too high for this type of old, almost but abandoned place. Staff was always absent from the reception area. The breakfast I have never tried - I have once made it down to the breakfast area after 7 in the morning, which is their start of the breakfast time, but it was closed down.

The room was ok, had a good shower and bed was comfy.
The man on reception at the hotel I thought was a little rude, and that he couldn't be bothered, arrived with quite a few heavy bags, but he never offered to help. I thought the price for the room was a little high for what you get. I stayed in a £20 a night hotel a little while back, and the staff treated you better there, plus room was better...here you pay almost £45 a night, and the staff can't even be bothered to help you. Also the room's carpet had some stains on it.

We loved the look of the hotel from the outside the 'classic' look on the inside. The room was very clean and the bed sheets were spotless.
The sqeeky floors... every step you take... 'SQEEK!!' but this only added to the 'classic' feeling of the hotel. So it wasn't really a dislike.

staff were very friendly and helpful and the location was great location accross from a main train station and walking distance to shops and restaurants.
It was very run down but clean. Really is in need of a cash injection and make over.

Apparently the level of cleanliness in the hotel was appalling. Unforutnatley the gentlemen I had booked in did not think to make a formal compalaint to the Manager. After inspecting the bedrooms they just left their keys and walked out.

Spacious room and bathroom, very clean if a little 'dated' in style. Staff very obliging and pleasant, and food was good.
The overall impression of the hotel is one of faded grandeur, with some of the public areas are showing considerable wear and tear/neglect. No shower in the bathroom. Creaky floorboards! Mouldy curtain on the stairs could have simply been taken down.
