  Room was very clean and although it was a foggy,frosty night it was very warm. The breakfast,although only continental, was very good and well presented.

  "Whilst it is called a hotel it should in no way be graded as such. I was horrified to find our wet towels had just been hung back up to use again. The continental breakfast was very poor with service almost non existent. I have stayed over the years in much pleasanter B&B's. I shall definitely not be staying again." (108920797)

  Towels were not changed during stay and electric shower was luke warm. Room key only worked from the inside and no replacement provided.

  The four poster room is very spacious and comfortable. There was a sense of being a house guest rather than a paying customer which made the stay all the more enjoyable

  bright airy room with lovely view over the garden - very relaxing. The continental breakfast was very good.

  The shower was adequate but the water pressure was not great and the tempreture seemed to fluctuate.

  Very friendly staff owners with obvious committment to making a comfortable visit. No bad points however felt with a long journey ahead the breakfast choice very limited. However not a critism. Would stay again..!

  Thought the hotel was good value,staff were very nice and helpful.

  shower was poor quality and water did'nt get hot, was very noisey in the middle of the night,this was down to some rowdy guests in another room.

  "I was told by my girlfriend that you are a gay friendly hotel, the staff that i met were wonderfully pleasent and helpful, my girlfriend only lives down the road from this establishment so was easy enough for us to get to, and after drivin 90mins to get there it was wonderful just to relax" (97396065)

  Very clean. Perfectly adequate Continental Breakfast. Lovely grounds.

  Although room was immaculate with everything functioning perfectly well, its outlook was a bit depressing, partly below ground level (Family Room) and therefore needed lights on.

  "The Hotel would benefit greatly by offering its guests a small bar facility, cooked breakfast and dining facilities. It's an extremely attractive and welcoming building and it would have been nice to spend more time there rather than having to leave for food and drink." (97489374)

  The size and standard of the rooms was excellent. The public areas of the hotel were very clean and welcoming. The website does not do the hotel justice.

  "Don't remember reading that the breakfast was continental. No cooked breakfast was a little bit of a let down. The location of the hotel was satisactory. Overall though, the staff were very friendly and you were left to enjoy your stay. Definately worth a visit and if we visit Newcastle again (and the People of Newcastle are soooo friendly and helpful!), we would certainly stay at the hotel again (and take our own sausages!!)   The actual hotel was stunning. Set in beautiful gardens and it had a very nice feel to it! Felt like we were staying in luxury, and we were quite suprised how nice the hotel was for how much money we had paid! It is a must see! The resident cats were also very friendly!!

  We didn't get a cooked breakfast in the morning and we had to travel home on an empty stomach for 3 hours. We also had no hot water.

  Size of room (huge), position of hotel, peace and quiet, lovely view, big bathroom, beautiful old house.

  There was an old drain smell coming from the shower/bath plugs (needs sorting), loo seat bit wobbly, whatever the linen is washed in (or conditioner maybe) I didn't like the smell. Need something more neutral.

  "The hotel is set in large gardens with ample parking area, the room we had was very large with seperate dressing room & ensuite bathroom (with very large bath & seperate shower)four poster double size bed & large t.v. tea & coffee making facilities. Only thing it lacks is a bar for people who don't wish to travel by taxi to have a drink." (99252078)

  I booked the suite with the four poster bed, the room was very spacious, warm & very comfortable. We were surprised at the large bath ( which wasn't mentioned in booking) Over all a very pleasant stay. shame it's not licenced for drinks.

  Hedgefield House is a beautifully proportioned Georgian? house with beautiful gardens to front and rear

  A shared bathroom. We were fortunate to have this particular part of the accomodation to ourselves on the date we stayed. I think it a bit antiquated.
