  Staff very pleasant and plenty of parking space.

  Shabby, old fashioned hotel. Stairs not cleaned during the whole time we were there - same crumbs in same place when we left!

  Good Location, adequate parking, stays open late

  In need of significant renovation, rooms small and fittings old and some damaged and not replaced. Bath/shower in need of repair (tap and shower running at the same time, difficult balancing the hot and cold water for a shower, hot water way too hot). Bathroom toiletries poor quality. Weekday breakfast very basic.

  i informed hotel that i was on a gluten free diet on booking but no provisons were made. i brought my own bread but were unable to toast it because of risk of contamination. we chose to have dinner on saturday night but despite assurance that it was gluten free i became ill the following two days. the only food i ate outside the hotel was what i had brought with me. i would point out that 1 out of 100 people suffer from this condition so your hotels must have many people like me each week. make a point to accommodate them and i'm sure you'll benefit

  Location excellect for Chester and Cheshire Oaks, takes about 20mins to walk into Chester. Large room. Cheap drinks in bar. Good pub next door for pub meals and evening drinks.

  annexe rooms nice and private

  room not cleaned before we arrived, no full english breakfast as advised on booking form, staff not apologetic even though things went wrong. In the end we got a £10 reduction but the whole hotel felt dilalpadated and in need of a refurb. Staff seemed disinterested.

  Private car park.Important when carrying equipment in car.

  Hotel room very hot and heating not controllable. Left windows open but then noisy environment hence poor nights sleep. a Good nights sleep being the most important aspect. No working internet wifi connection.

  Ground floor rooms at the front of the hotel are in a dirty and shabby coondition, they urgently need decorating and up-grading. The rooms are noisey due to traffic and noise from kitchen and resturant.

  "In the shower room, the hot tap on basin was not fixed, so it wobbled badly when you tried to turn it - had to hold tap with one hand and turn with the other. The toilet seat (some sort of fibreboard) was deteriorating badly. The door made terrible squeaks (Not very good in the middle of the night!), and did not latch. And yet it was all very clean and new looking. It would have been good to know that the Hoole Bridge was closed - we had all sorts of problems getting to the hotel, going round Chester in circles. And the buses into the town are not every ten minutes, as we were told, but two an hour - different services. Very useful, though, to be on the bus route, with a free (to us oldies) service straight to the town centre. Thank you for a pleasant stay, and a good dinner and breakfast." (97645945)

  Spacious, comfortable, three chairs. Restaurant very good - an excellent dinner, very reasonable. A good breakfast too.

  Too hot - had to turn radiator off Various deficiencies in shower room - see below

  It had all of the facilities I required and the staff were friendly and helpful

  The carpet in my room was stained and dirty and the decor was dated and wearing.

  Comfortable, clean, everything worked, staff very pleasant & helpful.

  There was a message in the bathroom to say that if you wished to have your towels changed you should put them in the bath. i did not wish to have my towels changed and therefore did not put them in the bath. However they were changed and replaced with a small towel and a larger threadbare towel. I did not request these to be changed on the second day. However, they took away the smaller towel and left me with the threadbare towel.

  "The hotel is in a decent location, just outside the city centre. It cost less than £4 in a taxi into the centre. We only wanted a place to stay, so this hotel was ideal. The breakfast was brilliant! Best breakfast ive ever had in a hotel!" (97631424)

  Good location. Great breakfast. Everything worked.

  The food was a little overpriced for what you got, even though it tasted ok.

  "We were very pleased with the room and we will request to occupy it in the future. The breakfast was not as appetizing as on our previous visit, however we are health contious, so food swimming in oil is something we like to avoid. Overall we had a very nice stay." (97066275)

  "Although the hotel was clean I feel that it was in need of an upgrade. In our room the wardrobe door did not close because of the poor siting of a mirror (it should have been lower or even on the wall) and there was peeling wallpaper and badly scuffed paintwork. Also the taps in the bathroom were very difficult to regulate." (97980449)

  The room was directly opposite the door on to the landing and was therefore very noisy.
