  quite far from the city centre(about 2km), no restaurants or pubs around. mobile phone is needed to have log-in passwords for free internet connection. some staffs do not speak english. very noisy floors.

  "Excellent value for a stop-over - using it like we would a travel lodge or similar. Probably would be disappointed if we were booked in for a week but the price indicates this. Breakfast, beds and shower were great and receptionist friendly - all nice and low key." (107886295)

  Good location, parking, nice and low key - no gushing welcome but not really what was wanted after a day of sight-seeing. Shower was hot and powerful, beds were comfortable, plenty of space (more so than several family rooms we have stayed in) and nice that the other guests were mainly French - made us feel like we were on holiday.

  Restaurant menu could not be read (my husband speaks good French but couldn't make out the words) - to appeal to more English in the restaurant, could provide menu in typed format? Breakfast when we had it was great though!

  "It seems no effort had been made to make the hotel pleasant it was just very basic and served the purpose. A very depressing end to a lovely holiday in other 2* hotels which were infinitely better." (107814774)

  Hard to think of any

  plug socket in room dangerous, came out of wall with any appliance. Shower had no hook in cubicle so had to hold shower all the time. The one member of staff we saw in the whole stay seemed bored and unfriendly. Breakfast was just packets of processed jam etc.with no staff to make coffee, very depressing atmosphere in dining room.

  The hotel was clean and the breakfast was plentiful.

  I booked this hotel because it said there was a restaurant and i expected to be able to get dinner. The restaurant was closed so we were faced witha very long walk to try and find something. As we had travelled from the UK that day we were disapointed at this. In addition very litle English was spoken by the staf member who checked us in and she did not go out of her way to be helpful at all.

  We were given a bigger room to fit the cot bed of our young child

  Excellent value for money Very pleasant staff. Clean and comfortable room

  The only criticism staff were slow in replenishing the breakfast food when it was running low and guests were having to wait.

  "Although reasonably freshly decorated and everything worked, it felt like a faded travel lodge style of hotel and probably was. It was adequate for our purpose and acceptable for a night or two as long as you do not rely on the restaurant being open in the evening. " (107965518)

  Easy to find, clean, quiet and adequately comfortable. Breakfast fine, dinner good value but a bit repetitive. Staff were friendly and polite enough.

  Restaurant closed on third night due to lack of customers - sent the staff home. That was not a problem and understood but it was not very helpful as we did not find out about this until returning in the evening, so had to go out again. There is no other eating or drinking facility in walking distance.

  "The hotel was central to our touring area. the staff were pleasant though not particularly helpful. I have stayed in Balladines elsewhere before and this one does not measure up to my previous experience of this group." (97334333)

  The room was clean and tidy. The breakfast bar was well stocked with a good choice of food.

  I didn't realise there wasn't a Lift and we were on the third floor. Some of the lights in the room didn't work and it took three requests to get them mended. Public areas and stairwells were in poor condition and need re-decorating. The restaurant was not open for dinner at week-ends, and had I known I would not have booked this hotel. However when open [Monday to Thursday] the food in the reataurant was very nice and good value for money.

  Staff friendly, hotel clean and tidy. Good range of foods for breakfast. Tables and chairs outside hotel where we sat to eat our picnic tea.

  There was no hot water in either our or our friends room though the problem was fixed quickly when I reported it.

  "This is a reasonable priced hotel close to (but not within walking distance of) the centre of Arras. It does not have much character but is perfectly comfortable.   The hotel was easily found and the reception staff were very friendly but efficient.Our room was quite large, very clean and the bathroom was clean and functional. We arrived for a Sunday night stop over and were pleasantly surprised that the restaurant was open for business. Our meal was most enjoyable and excellent value for money.

  We received exactly what it said on the tin: a reasonable class of hotel, clean, well located and excellent value for money.

  Room was small, had 2 lights not working due to no bulb. Asked for replacement- told that they did not have any. There were 2 unprotected electric wires over bed head. Health and safety issues if there were young children in the room.

  "a pleasant stay only one night as i was visiting head office this hotel was practical for me outside the centre which makes it ideal when you have work to prepare.the restaurant was a bonus saved the problem of driving into arras.never noticed on the site that it was also a restaurant maybe i overlooked this."   The hotel was close to the autoroute which was great.the hotel overall was ok friendly atmosphere, clean room all that i ask for

  not really much, maybe the look from the outside could be better and a bigger sign on the main road as i arrived it was dark i knew the hotel was at the rear of the garage but how to get there.
