  "Very relaxing stay" (108308837)

  Location excellent, car park excellent, food excellent

  Had to speak to reception to get attention as no greeting offered despite us being only guests present, and check in slow and ponderous despite them already having all of our details

  The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful!

  We dined at the hotel for one evening, we were disappointed with the choice of menu, as we felt it catered more for the gourmet, rather than for the everyday traveller and their families, who were more likely to be staying at this hotel. Also for the health conscious, there was a distinct shortage of fruit and vegetables included in the menu.

  "The bar staff and dining staff were excellent and most helpful. We thought the bar meal charges were exccessive. The reception however needs someone more mature on the desk. There was a language misunderstanding with one of the foreign girls. At times they were understaffed and queues formed, not good for an hotel like yours. When we went to the fridge for a drink it merely had water in it. Not what we expected and we had no time to ring reception and sort something out. What is the point of an empty bar??????"   Clean, good security precautions and everything you need in the room except for drinks in the fridge.

  Not being able to shut the windows having opened them. It then poured with rain. We asked reception to close the windows for us. This was not done although the receptionist said she would see to it straight away. I hated the bath tap arrangement for running a bath. Both my husband and myself got a showering before we worked out how to increase the hot water. I have been all around the world and never seen such a crass arrangement!! Then we couldn't find the hairdryer to dry my hair as the lamp was covering the sign on the table saying hairdryer.

  "A very comfortable and friendly hotel, would like the health suite to be opened later on, as alot of guests do not arrive until later on. A reminder when booking to use your holiday Inn card as this is at least the second Holiday Inn hotel we have stayed in and forgotten to take the card." (97704714)

  Comfort of the room and the friendleness of staff also the proximitary to the river

  would have prefered a king size bed to a double, but this is just a small point

  "Hotel in excellent order with excellent staff ALL paying great attention to detail - everyone obviously very well trained in customer satisfaction. The food was super, the rooms and shared areas immaculate. Nothing was too much trouble (and we are quite picky!!)" (97559361)

  "The different websites you use to market your hotel use different names for the same rooms. There are lots of different breakfast options advertised, but it appeared that breakfast was the same for all??? Costs changed based on which breakfast option you selected - is this correct? Staff were helpful and friendly - particularly a young man who was on duty late on Thurs night and then manning breakfast reception on Friday morning. He went out of his way to accommodate my young daughter, and really impressed me." (97130933)

  Spacious, clean room.

  Room 115 - the shower doesn't attach to the shower pole - had to shower as though it was a bath attachment!!

  The room had all the facilities we equired and was of a very good standard. The hotel was clean and well decorated. The staff were helpful and the breakfast was good value.

  "Our stay was enjoyable. We found the staff, without exception, courteous & helpful. Due to the plans of our weekend we had breakfast as the only meal but found this to be of a very high standard." (99809594)
