  Welcoming hosts, Good sized room, beautiful vicorian house, fantastic view from dining room, level walk to historical city interests.

  En-suite door not well fitting, so privacy impeded. Dust on chest of drawers and chain found on floor !!!

  Cheap and cheerful. In view of the cost of others I found this good value for money. Very clean and the staff were very helpful. Good for one night stay not sure of a few nights ????

  Non - apart from the decor being a little dated.

  "We enjoyed our stay at Mayfield as it allowed us to visit the main sights of Lincoln without having to negotiate Steep Hill - always a bonus." (108970140)

  Clean, comfortable, in an excellent location for Lincoln Cathedral and Castle, also for restaurants for a good evening meal. The proprietors are very friendly and accommodating.

  Parking is limited so it is a good idea to phone ahead and check the position before you arrive by car. On our visit, the sound on BBC2 on the bedroom TV wasn´t working but it didn´t detract from our experience.

  Pleasant couteous staff. Walking distance to Castle and Cathedral. Internet access.

  Bed too soft. Noise from road. Shower had very little pressure.

  We are used to a king size bed so it seemed a bit cramped. Also shower cubicle a bit small.

  "I really liked the place. The breakfast was good, not great, but perfectly acceptable for the price. It had a pretty setting and nice views. " (107652121)

  The staff was both knowledgable about Lincoln and friendly. The room was nice and the bed comfortable. The dining room had a great view over the valley. It was about a 5-10 minute walk from the castle and cathedral so great for visiting. They let me leave my bag there all day and called a cab when I came to pick it up.

  The shower in the bathroom was a little small - plenty of hot water but a big person might have a hard time.

  Parking is a little restricted, however this is normal in Lincoln due to the very narrow picturesce streets

  Room we were in could do with a new mattress, although once you get used to it it's not too bad a nights sleep.

  Location. Non-intrusive but friendly. Suggested a cathedral roof tour, which was great. Single rooms are often very small - this was of good size.
