  Food good, beautiful building/surroundings

  Service in restaurant at dinner and breakfast a little haphazard. Bathroom a little tired.

  Fabulous building and setting. Lots of character. Wonderful breakfast. Nice room. Good food.

  Restaurant had slightly stuffy, old fashioned quality.

  Beautiful hotel, Sensational gardens

  TV in room very old and does not work properly. Al a carte breakfast portions very small, but quality was excellent

  "As well as the experience of staying in a large country manor with acres of open grounds, the four poster room I booked was breathtaking in its size (room 9). The resident's lounge was a treat too. We had gone away for a quiet couple of days where we could laze about, and to sit in the lounge with a book, nod-off and then wake to afternoon tea was perfect. Do try their marmite and cucumber sandwiches - marvellous. Although late in the season, it was still annoying that such a prestigious place did not have my choice of beer, neither was my choice of wine available and neither was our choice of cheese and that was all in one evening. For the prices being paid it did not impress me. We've been before and I would recommend the hotel but I would always mention that experience." (97173492)

  "Beautiful historic hotel in beautiful surroundings. The room we were in was a bit shabby around the edges but our friends were happy with theirs. (We were in a standard double, they were in a superior double and a four-poster room). Breakfast was not the best I have ever had in an hotel but was adequate. Staff in general were ok, but some were a little on the unfriendly side! Overall I am happy with my long weekend stay, and I would return to the same hotel (in the hope that some minor changes had been made!)." (99881668)

  Beautiful Hotel in beautiful surroundings. Bibury itself is picturesque.

  Hotel room was a bit shabby and the staff were not always the friendliest. Breakfast OK, not the best I have had in an hotel.

  "Ok, greeted by name on arrival. Staff showed little compassion when husband was taken ill due to reaction to food served - may have been previously unknown allergy, but as I had all medical kit with me did not have to rely on staff, thankfully. Would stay there for the rooms again but not for the food - overpriced and lacked choice. Breakfast was ok, but on the small side. Great to see the kids doing a charity easter egg hunt! Was expecting higher service metrics based on price. Ideal get away location though from outside world." (99724695)

  Having to walk through the restaurant when people were dining to get to room, lack of staff at breakfast for service, only 1 tea bag in a pot for two people

  "Beautiful building, setting and location - in fact I would say stunning. However, the experience inside did not match the external one. All facilities/rooms where adequate, but could do with a 'freshen-up' -things looked a little 'tired' in places. The Breakfast was superb." (99864369)

  Historic, grand, atmospheric and enveloped by superb grounds teeming with wildlife. A superb setting to savour whilst enjoying innovative and excellent cuisine.

  A clear glass door to en-suite bathroom? Safety glass?
