Right in front of the hotel is the spacious sun deck where you can linger for many a fine hour in the summertime. The hotel has ample parking space, as well as its own sauna, solarium and fitness suite. Family events can be celebrated in the restaurant or in a separate hotel room. The hotel appeals to families, active hikers as well as to people in general who wish to enjoy the foothills of the Alps.

The surrounding area contains many fine attractions, regardless of whether you are travelling in summer or winter. The restful town of Buching is the gateway to the Ammergau Alps nature reserve, and has its own typical charm as well as close links to Upper Bavaria and the Tyrol. Some of the main local sights are the Baroque parish church of St Michael, and the church of St Peter and Paul. Just 15 km away are the royal palaces of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau, as well as the town of Füssen with its late-Medieval cityscape (St Mang monastery, the gothic High Castle), and the marvellous UNESCO rococo Church of Wies. Enjoy the terrific mountain and lake scenery of the eastern Allgäu and take advantage of all the sports it has to offer. There are a wide range of leisure pursuits, including 130 km of hiking trails, cycling paths and tours, a double chair lift, a winter toboggan run as well as several ski-lifts directly opposite the hotel. The Buchenberg mountain is famous as a paradise for paragliders and hang gliders. The outside Alpine swimming pool in Trauchgau, mountain climbing in the Ammergau Alps, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, mini-golf, swimming, surfing, fishing in the Bandwaldsee and Forggensee lakes nearby, mountain-biking, rollerblading, downhill skiing, 30 km of cross-county skiing trails, ice skating and ice hockey in the German national Ice Hockey Academy in Füssen.
