clean rooms, excellant, helpful staff
wireless internet signal either non existant or too weak to obtain viable hookup unless I was in the lounge. (Room 109). Several attempts made to get better signal, nothing in room was able to hold long enough. Desk staff admitted that those rooms had a weak siganl, suggest you investigate and improve wireless connection throughout all of hotel.

Hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and helpul
The double bed was pushed against the wall whih isnt suitable for two people sharing. The wifi was also unavailable in the room.

Superb ambience - good advantage is taken of the location and setting; the 'millrace' viewing window in a good feature.
Window locks loose. Unclear about drinkability of water from the taps; if unpotable, need to provide some bottled water in the room.

Hotel was easy to find and very convenient for the Rail station in Hemel Hempstead. Room was clean and tidy
It was a hot day and the room was very hot so the windows were open but the sound of the river / watermill was very loud as I was directly by the river

Brilliant view from the room.
The decor was a little tired looking.I usually stay in Best Westerns in Manchester. The quality of the bedroom furniture and linen was not so good in the Watermill Hotel. Not very suitable for people with mobility problems

The receptionist asked me to pay my account without showing me the bill and the items on it, even after I asked to see it. After the credit card transaction, he gave me the bill and there was an error on it regarding the type of breakfast. A credit card refund then had to be organised.

I would certainly use the hotel again, purely on value for money alone. The food looked good and the staff were efficient." (107835557)
Excellent value for money.
Some of the seating in public areas, whilst looking good, was not very comfortable.

Staff did not seem particularly bothered that we had such a poor stay, and at £80.00 per room per night (we booked 2 rooms) I would have expected a higher standard generally." (99039540)
The description of the Hotel on the Internet was misleading, the atmosphere was almost non-existant, the Restaurant for dinner was empty, the breakfast items ran out and we waited over twenty minutes for them to be replenished - gave up and checked out!! The coffee served at breakfast had 'scum' floating on the surface.

Food was very good and had Sky Sports in the bar and in the hotel room.
Hotel is close to a main road and railway line. Room I was in was quite small and opened out into the car park (no corridor or hallway).

Booked a single room but was upgraded to double. Room quite well equipped and comfortable.
Only complaint was parts of the hotel (not bedroom) was very cold!

Best Western The Watermill, Hemel Hempstead commentarios"The whole stay was enjoyable. The view from the room was beautiful and I spent a lot of time in the window seat. Access to the path along the river was really good for a lovely evening walk. The evening meal on the terrace above the water was great. It was good to have a choice between the formal restaurant and the bar meal. Next time I work in this area, I will go back to this hotel." (99636976)

The noise of the river is very restful. The internet access was very good value but didn't seem to work quite as advertised I bought 24 hours online (as opposed to access for 24 hours from the time of purchase) but it still expired after only about 5-6 hours online. The room service s absolutely outstanding value.
I asked for a non-smoking room but got given a smoking one that made all my clothes stink. The back of the hotel looks like a building site. All the signs about car theft made me feel very uneasy - you should consider installing a barrier which only opens with a room key and install cameras. The firedoors in the Pond building are far too heavily spring and I was woken by them at some time between 05:30 and 06:00 every morning.

Good welcome; good room and an enjoyable meal. No fuss, but attentive service - just what's needed for an overnight stay
No bad points really - had to have the kettle changed, which happened smoothly and efficiently. It would be nice to have fruit tea as an option in the room.
