A bit tired and in need of refurbishment some of which was in progress at the time of our stay i.e. the dining room. Although boasting car parking facilities these only cater for three cars at a push if you're very lucky. Be prepared for-on street parking with meters at the front door. " (108413813)
Friendly easy going reasonably comfortable family run establishment with excellent sea views and centrally located making the main attractions within easy walking distance.
To be fair our visit took place out of season at what can best be described as a typical seaside resort guest house with very little evidence of staff present and reception facilities were really non existent.

Functional and reasonably clean. Drinks cooler in room. Comfortable bed.
Hotel is unrecognisable from images on website which portray a stylish top-notch guest house. Reality is that this is an average B&B. Poor quality cooked breakfast - bacon coated in fat, cold toast. Not made to feel welcome.

The excuse for this was that the single room was under repair and they had group staying which meant me having to stay at the Atlantis Guest House which disrupted my stay. " (107401467)

The landlady from Glenagles kindly found us alternative accommodation. We stayed at The Atlantis Guest House in a two bedroomed flat which was charming and the people who owned the guest house were helpful and friendly, we would recommend The Atlantis Guest House, Alexandra Street, Westcliff-on-Sea." Parking arrangments a bit strange. Advised to call and book space, but then told spaces allocated on a first come first served basis on arrival. Not really any point in ringing to reserve a space?

Excellent staff, great location, good rooms (depending on size - see below!) Good facilities
We paid the same for an overnight stay as our friends staying in the next room but they had a room nearly 3 times the size of ours - these should be at different rates - we only just had room to move round the bed sideways and the sink was by the bed! Although the rooms were clean I did find some paper rubbish in the bin and a wrapper of shower get in the shower which had all been missed on cleaning. Breakfast was nice overall, but the toast was a bit sparse (one piece each person) and the coffee very weak also the sausage that one of us had was a bit old and bended when cut!

No-one at hotel on arrival - keys left in an envelope with the suite name but no indication that they were for us. Limited parking. Electric shower in our 'Estuary Suite' did not work very well - poor flow and erratic temperature control - could lead to scalding if not corrected (no bath). Duvet on bed was very heavy in physical weight which made sleeping more 'uncomfortable' than it should have been. One bedside lamp had no bulb.

Although I sound critical, I did enjoy staying at this hotel due to the actual cleanliness, comfortable rooms, view & location." (107922095)
Lovely Room & great view, good location - handy. Friendly staff.
Frequently no-one around to be able to ask questions easily. Ie, when wanting to ask about places to go, maps, where to eat etc, what time for breakfast. I believe I could have called for assitance but did not want to seem to be hasseling each time we came in or out. If someone was there you could ask questions without feeling uncomfortable, or if you are in a hurry, with a lot more ease. Parking was a problem out the back - often no spot available. The front was metered. Breakfast finished at 9am which when on holdiday or after travelling long distances, was too early. 10am would allow a sleep in for those on holidays rather than business. (Normally up for work at 5:30am each day but on holidays prefer to get up at 8-8:30am). By the time you have showered & got ready we had missed breakfast - this happened 2 out of 3 days. Hot water was not very hot in the shower.

Lovely sea view. Large room with good sized bed. Vegetarian breakfast provided at short notice.

I travel a fair amount with my business and prefer the private establishments with that personal touch instead of the larger hotel/motel chains. This hotel is very close to town centre with seafront position but far enough away to be quiet. The breakfast was good but a little fruit would have been really appreciated. Make sure they do actually reserve a parking space for you if you want one. They did find us one, but though we rang to book, one had not been kept for us. I would recomend this for an overnight stop if you are on a budget." (97710276)
It was clean and the bed was comfortable.
Cramped bathroom and entrance to it, no hot water in the shower, old fashioned very patterned carpets.
